Dressing up Shirts

I adore dresses, always have, always will. I hardly wear anything else in the summer and even in the winter I just add a sweater to layer and some tights and I'm good to go. Shirtdresses are a great way to transition from summer to fall and even into winter. I love buying a looser shirtdress to cinch with a big belt. It's a great look for the office as well if you pair it with the right shoes and accessories.

The crop sleeves and the banded hem of the Exeter Plaid dress is too darn cute. Because of the banded hem, I'd leave this one without a belt and just let it flow. This Trovata one is a fun light summer dress. I like that it already has the cinched waist. In the winter I'd pair it with a cozy gray cardigan, gray tights and flat boots.

The Mortica Dress at Urban Outfitters is exactly what I'd wear during one of those chilly nights in the summer. The textures and the ruffles are just so perfectly girly.

I think shirtdresses in prints are just darling. I love this little Marc by Marc Jacobs dress. The flower print and the delicate pouf of the skirt is just perfection. I like that this one is sleeveless as I think the print would be a bit overwhelming with sleeves.
I just ordered the Mortica dress in black* so it might be coming to a lookbook very soon!
They call it grey on the website but it looks black to me!

  1. I love how ethereal and beautiful the white dress is. Flirty dresses with clean lines are always great.
