Our Simple Modern Reception

It's been awhile since I've written about my wedding (thanks for the reminder Aricka!) and I've been working on finalizing reception decor so I thought I'd share.

About a month ago, I had ordered a few lovely items from Brocade Home, after I so nicely blogged about them. Well, I seem to have spoken too soon as I have yet to receive my items or even an email letting me know of any status. I finally got someone on the phone that told me their warehouse is delayed and there is no ETA on when items will ship. Hmph. Thanks for letting me know. Although the order is supposedly still on it's way, I decided I needed to continue looking in case nothing shows up.

First, let me remind you (or if you are new to me, introduce you) to where the reception will be held.
And this is the gorgeousness that we will be looking out on.

I didn't want anything too too much to take away from the beautiful natural setting that we will already be in so this is what I've come up with.

Very simple, modern decor. I want to play off the purple of the orchids and let the dinner area be lit mainly by candlelight (and possibly Japanese lanterns). Since we are having a small party, we will be using long tables which will be perfect for the tealight troughs. I really love the touch of the purple napkins and the simple stemware.

I adore the stainless steel letters and would like to hang "11" and "08" somewhere just as an accent. I haven't decided on what exactly the flower centerpieces will look like so that is still a detail to be decided.

If anyone comes across a pretty orchid centerpiece please send it my way. It is surprisingly hard to find ones that I like.
