Adventures in Oregon Part 2

What city were we in again? Oh right...

We did a little bit more walking around before we settled on a place for dinner and then headed to the hotel to check in.

Later on that night, we ventured out to find us a place for cocktails and dessert. The place we went to had great cocktails but they ran out of the dessert that I wanted. Boo.

We got back to the hotel and had to check out the outdoor deck area with the fire pits. We settled down into some chairs and then bought a bottle of wine to drink out there. Pretty soon we were the only ones left and we had no desire to leave.

Sitting out there with my new husband, the fire, and a bottle of wine was total bliss.

The next morning we headed out to the Nob Hill area to have some delicious breakfast.

(me: asparagus and brie omelet, him: eggs benedict at Papa Haydn)

and an hour later, I made him stop and get me gelato. And an Italian Soda.

Yum!

We made it through quite a bit of Nob Hill, which was a really cute area with interesting shops and lots of delicious looking restaurants.

Our next stop was the Pearl District as I had to check out West Elm.

After picking out the perfect bed for us, we headed to our last stop.

The Rose Garden!

Portland is known as the "city of roses" so we couldn't leave without visiting one of their rose gardens.

It was such a lovely day to be in the garden. There were a lot of people but it wasn't too overcrowded. The smell of the roses is so overwhelming but in a good way.

Here are some of my favorites that we saw.

There seemed to be a billion rose bushes, all different types and all such pretty colors. I've always loved roses so it was fun for me to go there and see all the varieties.

After being out in the sun all day, we were DONE. The sun totally drains all the energy out of you doesn't it? Luckily we had enough energy to drive back home.

We had such a fabulous time on our mini getaway. I'm already planning our next one!
