Lookbook: Mad Hatter

Debut of a new hat! I've mentioned my love of hats in previous lookbooks and I usually go for the soft/smushy beanie kind but when I spotted this hat in the store with the big red bow, it was too cute, I had to get it.

What I'm Wearing:

Skirt: Aritizia

Shoes: Bally

The hat is from Ian in Fremont, a shop that J and I frequent quite often. It's great that it has both men's and women's clothes that we both love so when we go in I don't feel the pressure of J waiting around for me, which is usually how it is when we go shopping. The tunic was a purchase from Gilt. It is actually too big for me but I don't like to return things, especially stuff I buy on the internet so I just kept it and worked with it by adding a belt. Since I was going to wear my hat, I didn't want an entirely black outfit so added the gray tights and light gray shoes to add a bit of pop but not too much as I didn't want to take away from the red bow on the hat.

(please excuse the scarf and jacket, we were out walking the dogs and I didn't bother to match!)

It's always fun playing with your hairstyle for when you wear hats so I went with a low side ponytail with a messy bun. Jenna had a question about how I keep my hair nice when I take my hat off. I don't know if I have the best answer for that as my hair doesn't seem to be affected when I wear hats (maybe because I have such thick hair) but I will do a post on my hair routine in an upcoming post.

I tend to do nude/pink lips most of the time but felt sassy enough to put on some reddish lipstick. I guess that's what adding a hat will do, it brings out a different side of you. ;)
