Lookbook: Blair Waldorf-ish

I wore this to celebrate my husband's birthday and what a better present for him to get than me with a bow on top? ;)

I think this is the last item of clothing that I bought at Bebe. I have to say that the store has become, well, not my style. I do still love this dress though and I always get lots of compliments on it.

What I'm Wearing:

Cardigan: Rag and Bone

Shoes: Christian Dior

I am addicted to Rag and Bone ever since I bought this blazer. Everything from their line seems to fit me better than any clothing I have found and the quality and details are impeccable. I got this cardigan on sale at Barneys and then recently saw it on sale at Shopbop for an even better price so this blue one is on it's way to me.

These shoes are a step closer to my bright shoe resolution but I am still on the hunt for a pink or red shoe. I do love the color and the style but the only thing is they are probably one of my most uncomfortable pair of shoes. I have deemed them my office shoes only. I went shopping in them on this day and I was barely able to walk that night!

The bow was inspired by the queen of headbands, Blair Waldorf as well as these Luella headbands that I spotted in Teen Vogue and fell in love with.

I found this ribbon in my ribbon stash (I have tons of ribbon that I was going to use for our wedding but didn't) and decided to use it as a headband to add a pop of color to my black and white ensemble. It was easy to do and great use for ribbon that I have no idea what else to do with.

A note on my false lashes: I use very full lashes on purpose. I used to get the ones that were shorter and less full but they were no fun to me. I figure if I'm going to with fakes, might as well make them look glam! My husband actually loves my fake lashes and he encourages me to wear them. It's just something fun to add to my look. My girlfriends that wear false lashes wear ones that are much fuller than mine. If we wanted to make them look more "natural" it would be possible but it's all about personal taste and what you are comfortable with. I know that at first you can be pretty self-conscious about them thinking that everyone is staring at your lashes but once you get used to it, you don't even think about it.

It's also a reason why so many celebrities wear false lashes, it's just something that adds glamour to an outfit. Kim Kardashian is a perfect example of really fake lashes but I think it looks good on her as it goes with her personality and the rest of her look.

As with clothing and makeup in general, I work with what I think works best for me. If you want to try false lashes or have tried them, don't give up if you bought one pair and it didn't look right. There are all shapes and sizes out there so make sure you find what is comfortable for you!
