It's cute and I like it because it has pockets but, is it just me or do J Crew dresses give everyone weird hips? Every single J Crew dress I own gives me hips that I do not have, it's really kind of irritating! I am taking the dress to my tailor to get rid of the hips and shorten it. I bought the dress in petite but it's still too long.
And then we are wearing these shoes for the ceremony

I'm typically not one for wedges. I own like 3 pairs, I much prefer heels. But, she's getting married on a pier with lots of holes that could catch little stiletto heels so during the ceremony, we are wearing wedges and then changing to heels for the reception. Well, at least I am, not sure about the other girls!
I have yet to find a pair of heels to go with the dress. If you find a perfect pair, send them my way! I'm looking for silver, not too strappy, and HIGH (at least 4 inches).
And for our fun part, we are all wearing fascinators in our hair made by the very awesome Kasia Fink veils! My sister will have the biggest flower, like this one but without the feathers and netting.
and Kasia is making the 3 bridesmaids smaller versions.
I'm so excited, we are going to look haute!
I'm going to figure out how to do my hair as I've never loved professional up-do's on me. I just end up looking weird.
Now... what to do about that dang swine flu? ugh. I need to stop watching the news and reading the newspaper! I guess I'll try to make it to her bachelorette party in Vegas first AND then worry about it! :)

gorgeous dress and cute wedges! I can just imagine how beautiful the wedding will be! I have tiny hips myself so most dresses look like I have wings sometimes LOL... Hopefully, the swine flu is gone by the time of the wedding. Happy Wednesday Tiffany!

ReplyDeleteYou ladies are going to look so great! I'm debating orderin those same wedges for a wedding i'm in next month... We need silver wedges because of the wedding being in the grass, but they've been quite a beast to find... (I prefer heels too) I like those a lot better than the ones I chose, but they might work! She wants more of a 'silver'... Maybe I'll get them and just see if she even notices. ;)

ReplyDeleteMy bridesmaids wore J. Crew dresses as well and they all loved the pockets. My husband and I are supposed to go to a friends wedding in Playa del Carmen the first weekend of June. Not quite sure what our game plan is.

ReplyDeletePersonally, I think the wedges are darling. (Then again, I'm awful when I first put on heels... I have no grace. None.) At least the whole outfit doesn't scream "bridesmaid nightmare, one time use only." ;)

ReplyDeletethat dress is great ...I love the color ...but I know what you mean about extra hip room ..I'm really narrow in the hips and I think big chain stores like Jcrew and gap design for the average "woman" but not everyone is "hippie" like that ....lol.
ReplyDeleteYou know, most of the weddings Ive been too, Im always wondering why the heck the bride put their bestest friends in such gawd awful attire besides the obvious that they want to look the best. When I get married they are going to look haute!! But anyway, this post made me happy!! She has such great taste, and you all are ging to look absolutely sensational!! The wedges go with the theme andthe dress so I never would have thought of them, but they look great together! If I come across shoes, Ill let you know!! :)

i can't say i've ever tried on a jcrew dress but that's so disheartening that they give you (and i'm sure me too!) weird hips because they look so adorable on the hangar. sigh...
ReplyDeleteHere is a little perspective for you. The CDC reports that 36,000 people die every year from the REGULAR flu and that is in the US alone. This swine flu panic is nuts! You'll be fine. Especially since the wedding isn't until July. I'll be in Cabo in July and am not scared one bit.

I feel the same way about j crew dresses! I am tall (5'10") and thin and when i put on their strapless dresses, all of a sudden i have these odd hips that don't really look like hips. ugh, cause they do have adorable dresses.

ReplyDeleteNope, J. Crew dresses do the same thing to me--I'm taking my shift dress to the tailor's to have them cut it so it will hang straight down from the waist instead of poofing out. Having hips actually built into the dress before I even put it on is annoying.
