Lookbook: Silk and Lace

I am loving the color purple this season. I've been buying and wearing lots of purple tones and this little silk and lace top is the perfect color.

What I'm Wearing:
Cardigan: J. Crew
Top: Forever 21
Jeans: Levis
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

People always ask me how I manage to find such good pieces at Forever 21. It's not just a matter of picking out good pieces but how you wear it as well. When buying cheap pieces, it's all about the fit and the fabric. Poor fit will definitely make it look cheap. When I buy from forever 21, I always buy online because I can't stand shopping at the actual store so I am pretty selective about what I buy (I never return anything). I have found that their silk tops is one of their more well made items so I always feel ok when I buy them.

The J. Crew cardigan is adorable, it's got a little ruffle trim and little rhinestone buttons but it's wool so it's so itchy! I usually wear it with long sleeves so I don't itch all day (the purple top is sleeveless) but I dealt with it since it looked cute with the top.

I bought this pewter belt at Nordstrom recently (and got it in gold as well) and it's just the perfect color to accent outfits. Funny story is I bought the belt not looking at the size and when I tried it on at home it was WAY too big. So I brought it back a few weeks later to exchange, but couldn't find it so asked the sales associate if they had any more of them left in a small. She went back and found it and said it was the last one AND it was on sale. Score! Guess it pays to be absent minded and not check sizes! hehe.
