Walk This Way

I know that this is my fashion/style blog and I spend the majority of my time writing about the style-ish aspects of my life but obviously there is way more to me than style so I thought I’d get a little personal. A big part of my life that I don’t write about much here (but I do write about it here) is my dogs.

Walks with our dogs are always the best part of my day. Not only do we get to see them wag their happy little tails, but it is always a good time to chat with my husband with no distractions of the TV, internet or phone. Plus, walking outside is something that I never did before we had dogs, but I now know how beneficial it is to just get out, stretch your legs and get some fresh air. During the summer we can walk for more than an hour and explore so many areas that we wouldn’t normally go to if we were in our car.

I love these pictures that my husband took on one of our recent walks. There’s nothing special about them but they really show what these walks are like. Just simple and happy.

a beautiful day for a walka beautiful day for a walka beautiful day for a walk

He likes to catch funny pictures of me as I’m walking. Most of the time I try to make weird faces at him but sometimes I’m nice and smile for him. I think he prefers to catch me with a weird face though so he can laugh later on!

a beautiful day for a walk

Most of the time, we walk during the day but sometimes we get too busy and can’t walk them until later in the evening. I love the times we walk them at dusk as it is one of those times of days that just goes by so fast so when we walk the dogs, we really get to enjoy seeing the skies change from blue, to dark blue, to black.

People always ask me when we’re gonna move out of the city and get a house but when this is the view that we get to see every day, there is no rush. You can’t get anything like this in the suburbs! Plus, who wants a house when you get to live in a cool modern loft! 🙂

Hope this inspires you to take some time out of your day to just enjoy your surroundings. Have a fun and relaxing weekend!

I do miss big city living – where everything is open 24 hours a day, where Starbucks closes at 2 in the morning, retaurants open till midnight, buzz of traffic, walking distance shops, hhhmmm… have a nice day!

I love Savvy and Macho! I also love living downtown in Austin–I wouldn’t trade it for anything, especially after living in a house in a more suburban area! In fact, we want to move even further into the heart of downtown.

What shoes do you wear on your walks? I can’t seem to find cute shoes to wear when I’m walking my dogs that don’t kill my feet.

Aww your dogs are adorable! I totally agree, living in the suburbs is so overrated – what benefit does it have to living downtown, especially if your dt area is clean, convenient, and beautiful?! The people who tell you to move are just jealous 😉

Walking our dog every evening is my favorite part of the day, too. Days are so hectic and it’s the one time when we can catch up on what’s happening with us. Thanks for sharing!

lily.splendor – in the winter it’s either my Uggs or my wedge boots. In the summer, it’s usually my Tory Burch flats. If it’s a real long walk, J makes me put on sneakers so I don’t complain about my feet hurting. haha! He bought me a pair of Nike Dunks to wear that are actually quite cute!

Love these pictures Tiffany. You know I have never lived in the city, but if given the chance…I am sure I would LOVE it! Hope you have a Happy Easter, my friend. You don’t know how happy you made me with your post this week! It means a lot coming from someone I respect and admire! 🙂

Your pooches are so cute! I have a beagle and it is amazing how much they light up when they see the leash come out isn’t it? The distraction-less time with the hubs is my favorite part though!

My heart leaps in my chest whenever I see a dachshund! They are my all time favourite breed and I can’t wait until we live in a place that allows dogs so that I can have my own!
