Dress: Doki Geki
Shoes: Franco Sarto

I also had a major freakout about shoes before we left so scrambled to find sandals that would stay on my feet while standing on rocks and cliffs and other various natural elements. I went to Nordstrom and had the salesman pull every single sandal with a back strap in a size 5. Luckily I was able to find two pairs (at really great prices) so was super happy. The day of the wedding I wore these Franco Sarto's and they were fantastic. My feet definetly hurt at the end of the day but that was because I was standing and walking or running all day long. The shoes were great, I think I may have to buy more pairs in other colors!

My husband made good use of his wedding suit and wore it again. He wore a different shirt and tie but the vest and pants were what he wore to our wedding.

Oh and did I also mention that my dress happened to match the sunset as well? ;) This was the gorgeous view at their reception. I've never seen the sky turn this shade of purple before, it was truly captivating.

cute cute cute dress!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Tiffany. You guys look great and very professional. I think that maxi fits perfectly on you and for the occasion. I had the same delima this weekend. I definitely will try out the maxi next time.
ReplyDeleteLove the maxi dress and definitely it was important to dress for the occasion! Well done! I love my maxi dresses too but agree w/ the length issue since I'm vertically challenged myself. Boo! :( Heels are a must!
ReplyDeleteI love that dress - it looks great on you! It's really hard to find a maxi dress that doesn't fit me like a maternity dress...boo!
ReplyDeleteEverything seems so pretty there, you thought of everything and it was a good choice!
ReplyDeleteThat photo is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty and I think that you did a great job at looking great and professional, while finding a functional dress:)
you look so pretty...like an island girl. i LOVE maxi dresses - always wear them when i'm traveling. it is hard to find a length that fits us petite girls. i just ended up cutting it w/sharp scissors. nobody ever notices cuz i leave enough length so it sweeps the floor a bit.
ReplyDeleteI love maxi dresses, although I'm somewhat vertically challenged as well, so the bottoms always end up tearing. Haha. I agree that even though you weren't guests of the wedding, dressing appropriately definitely reflects your company and you and your husband. Great picks! Oh, and I love the braid! =)
ReplyDeleteI agree big big big time with your views on how a photographer should dress for a wedding. I think I found the perfect dress, and now I'm going to put some pockets in it and wear spandex underneath and I should be good to go.
ReplyDeleteDo you each have two bodies? And do you have a shootsac or other such lens crarrying system?
Nina - I actually just did the same with another maxi dress I bought. just took scissors to it and it looks fine! :)
ReplyDeleteJenna - good idea on the pockets for the dress, I kept everything in my bag, but would have loved pockets for like lens caps and such. J carries two bodies and three lenses, I carry one 5d II and two lenses (50mm 1.2 and 24mm 1.4) I ended up using a bag that I already had that I could sling over my body. It worked out okay but am still on a hunt for a nice bag. shootsac is on my list but I'm not completely sold on it.
What a perfect outfit for the occasion! And I love the print of your maxi dress :) PS. I love your blog! xo
ReplyDeletewow I love the maxi dress! White and purple make such a pretty combination :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful, wonderful Dress, darling!
ReplyDeleteFM~FP
that location is fabulous! and you dressed perfectly...you're chic and pretty, but not overdone and i love those sandals!
ReplyDeleteThe maxi is adorable... Maybe I should try a bit more to find one that will fit me right, I was just worried it'd make me look odd. Things that aren't very fitted usually just add weight to me, unless the cut is just right.
ReplyDeleteThat sunset is gorgeous, too. Very jealous, I want to travel to a locale like that! :(
oh it's fabulous! ....and I have a problem finding maxis that are long enough ...lol. I love this on you!! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteyour maxi dress is so gorgeous!! :)

ReplyDeleteomg! i love that maxi!!!! Its looks so great on you.
ReplyDeleteT, you look too adorable. If I spend more money on a floral maxi dress, it's your fault... : )
ReplyDeleteSuper cute!!
ReplyDeleteTiff you look perfect! I love maxi dresses because you can still look professional and put together, but be able to move!
ReplyDeleteAnd hubby looks great too! XO
Cute dress!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a pretty picture!
OMG what a cute dress- and I love the braid in your hair...nice hairstyle! :)
ReplyDeleteYou and J looked very put together, as always! I can't believe that sunset happened on our wedding day! *sigh* Gorgeous picture!!
ReplyDeleteAdorable dress and that sunset sky photo is gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteYou look great in that maxi dress!!
ReplyDeletenice photos! i really wanna get a professional camera..
ReplyDeleteyour dress is so pretty
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous dress! Such a pretty color combo and it perfectly matches that sunset haha. You guys are so lucky to get to go somewhere so beautiful for "work" :)
ReplyDeleteBtw, I forgot to mention but I'm having a giveaway featuring designer fashion site ChickDowntown, check it out: http://highmaintenancewoman.blogspot.com/2009/05/get-summer-ready-with-chickdowntown.html
ReplyDeleteyou look perfect and i love that dress. i've been a bit afraid of the trend because of the height thing (i am so short) but think i will give it a whirl!
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely! It's hard finding clothes to keep cool in Texas on shoots, so my default is usually dressy black capris and ballet flats. It's not exciting, but it gets the job done around here!
ReplyDeleteAs for the Shootsac--it's great if you have smaller lenses. I'm in the process of selling mine because my 35-100 just won't squeeze in, and it's a struggle to get my 14-35 in. Plus, it kills my neck because my E3 is already so heavy with the flash and lenses attached. I do like the different cover options, though, but for now, I am doing what you did with a bag that slings over.
Perfect dress.
ReplyDeleteyou both look fab and so appropriate for the job/occasion!
ReplyDeletep.s. i think i'm going to go for the shootsac - i've continued to look around and have not found anything nearly as chic or great looking...
I LOVE the dress...sometimes it takes a long time to find a good one, but so worth it!
ReplyDeleteThat shot is totally amazing. It must have been an unforgettable wedding.
You both look fabulous, and that sunset is divine! What a fun gig!

I totally feel your pain on the maxi dress length...I hated having to pick it up when I walk...or one weird thing if you dont get them hemmed of course they drag and get dirty at the bottom...but then it makes your feet weirdly dirty also...SO I RAN to the tailor and had them hemmed. super cheap!
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable!
I got married in Snohomish...at the Hidden Meadows, its a converted barn, i was only like the second person to wed there...but the scenery is beautiful...
I have the same dilemma with finding comfy shoes for when I'm coordinating weddings (I plan weddings on the side). I can't even tell you how many shoes I go through during wedding season yet still end up with pained feet. It's gotten so bad I have been having fantasies of finding the perfect pair of orthopedic shoes that don't make me barf. Apparently I'm getting desperate.
ReplyDeleteyou are so pretty. and that dress is gorgeous. I commend you for wearing it and looking fab bc when I shoot weddings I have to wear pants bc I'm climbing on chairs, on the floor, etc. In the winter of course it's easier bc I just throw on all black...I have my uniform of slacks and a pretty black top that's dressy but not over the top and I wear my Prada loafers...best investment ever. I don't wear them for anything else other than weddings and the occasional flight. You look amazing and perfectly dressed for a wedding in Jamaica!!
ReplyDeleteand PS - I always have to cut so much off the bottom of my dresses and jeans...I feel you!!
ReplyDeleteThe maxi dress looks amazing on you. I'm going to my aunt's wedding anniversary next month and it is going to be at the beach. I will be toting my camera and snapping pictures. I'm going to get myself a maxi dress too! *giggles*
