Cardi: from Nordstrom
Tee: J. Crew
Shorts: Mango
Shoes: Bally
Necklace: Macy's

I added this fun chunky necklace to the outfit just to add a bit of color and dimension to the outfit. I could've left the outfit alone but like I said above, I always feel like I need to dress things up a bit so the necklace made me feel more like me.

I have to thank the super awesome Kelly from My so called fabulous life for sending me a little package of goodies! I haven't had time to make any of my little crochet creations but since she sent me two books full of cute little goodies to make, I'm gonna have to make some time! And she even included these cute dachshund clips, I mean totally perfect for me right?

Look at all the cuteness! The apples that you can remove the tops, the little macaroons and those cucumber characters! Sooo cute, I can't even handle it.

I think the shorts you're wearing, and what you're wearing them with, is very work appropriate. Love the addition of the necklace.
ReplyDeleteYou are lady who's the most style-ish! So classic, so pure, so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteFM~FP~AF
first of all you look super fab in shorts!
ReplyDeleteSecond, I can't wait to see what you create with what Kelly sent you!(who by the way is awesome!).
Love bermuda shorts! I agree that for awhile I banned them from my closet (because of my short legs too), but pairing them with heels (even slight kitten heels) really elongates our legs, making the outfit fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI do wear shorts to the office, as long as they're not daisy duke cut-offs, I think I can pass.
Your outfit overall looks so cute! Love how you dress down - yes, do dress down more often! It's so much more comfy!
i'm not a huge fan of shorts either. i'd much rather wear a skirt. but this look is cute...and the necklace is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteyou look fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous look, darling! Love the jewels and cardi!

you look great!, i had banned shorts too until last summer, when i saw a lady in the bldg where i work walk in with bermuda shorts and thought hey i can wear that and have since then...love them and they are the great length to wear to work!...i'm wearing a pair today :)
ReplyDeleteI've recently started liking shorts as well. I need to buy a few pairs.
ReplyDeleteKelly from 'my so called fab life' really is a great blogger.
gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous! I love your shoe choice!
ReplyDeleteThose little apples are adorable.
ReplyDeletei'm glad you blogged about this. i was contemplating whether or not bermuda shorts is okay for a business casual event tomorrow. now I feel more confident!
ReplyDeleteI have several pairs of bermudas that I wear to work all the time! I love them bc they are so comfy and since I'm a teacher I'm pretty mobile during the day.
ReplyDeleteI think they are completely appropriate to work as long as you jazz them up with cute shoes and fun top. I would never just roll in in them and something casual! I would totally get some stares. Some of the older teachers complain about my "shorts" but I ignore them and wear them anyway! Ha!
Wow! Im so jealous that you can wear those adorable shorts at work!!!
ReplyDeleteI think it depends on your work environment, but I'd hate to work in a stuffy place that doesn't let you wear this outfit! It's comfy and so chic! I wear shorts to work all the time, and if they're a little too short, I just throw on some tights to make them more covered up. Never wear denim shorts to work though, that's just too casual.
ReplyDeleteyou look fabulous in shorts. the little macron looking crochet is very cute. : )
ReplyDeletei mean pink macaron.
ReplyDeletelovely outfit, the necklace especially is so gorgeous! :)

I would totally wear that to work....soooo cute! I have been on the shorts hunt lately...loving these!
ReplyDeleteKelly is seriously so awesome....I never imagined that I would connect with so many wonderful people and make so many great friendships through blogging!
i *heart* bermuda shorts. coincidentally wearing a similar outfit to work today too! YAY! fashionista sister! :D Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit, and I think they're definitely work appropriate!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the shorts, you look gorgeous! You will have the best dressed daughter (or son) in the universe, NO DOUBT.
ReplyDeleteAnd we all know how I feel about Kelly. I swear...you, Hanako66, Nina, Kel...REAL friendships that now I don't know what I would do without. Love you girl! I hope your party was fab and you had drinkies for us! yay!
i love japanese craft books! i think if you study the book long enough you'll figure out what to do :)
ReplyDeleteand about the shorts, I think if the top half of your outfit and your shoes are conservative and tasteful, bermuda shorts are perfectly fine as office wear!
also, i've tried to crochet but I find working with felt is much faster and easier for me. haha :D

I've made some macaroons as well but unfortunately i've never had them in real life! haha
Thanks for visiting my shop! :)

I think these are totally acceptable for work! Super cute and chic. I want a pair of bermuda's now!

ReplyDeleteEek, I'm just like you! I didn't wear shorts for so long but now am coming around. I need more though.

I love your outfit and I think you look great in shorts! And no, those shorts were not a bad choice for work. Your outfit is adorable!
ReplyDeletei have the same shorts with short legs fears but i love how the heels elongate your legs. you look fab.

ReplyDeleteXoXo
Ur look are adorable as always.
this outfit is adorabella. I love it. I usually don't love shorts on me either...but I'm finding that this length works for me. And I love your necklace...I have something similar.
ReplyDeletelove the dress down look but still very chic!!!
ReplyDeleteI love how you make these shorts look chic!
ReplyDeleteoh i LOVE shorts!! i'm glad you've fallen for them too :)
ReplyDeleteU look gorgeous in them!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely one of my favorite outfits! It's so clean and crisp, I think it's perfect for work.
ReplyDeleteI first tried bermudas a few years ago and was completely surprised that they were actually very flattering. Being short, I'm under the impression that when it comes to shorts, skirts, or dresses, the shorter, the better, lest I end up looking like a tree stump. Not so! And I think they're completely appropriate for work, unless you're a banker or a lawyer...
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm a new reader to your blog (not sure how I found it, but I'm really glad I did).
ReplyDeleteI love this look. I love how you dress up the very simple and casual combination of a t-shirt and bermudas. Very classy. Totally different from how I would look if I dressed in a t-shirt and berms.
I will be camping here to learn from you. :)
I am with you, I was so not a fan of shorts for a long time. Last year I started wearing bermuda shorts - but the dressy kind, it was comfortable and I love the look with heels. This combo is perfectly chic. Love it.
