Lookbook: Summer Tweed

It’s so easy to get dressed in the summer isn’t it? A cute little dress and you are set!

What I’m Wearing:
Dress: BCBG
Belt: Nordstrom
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
IMG_0004

I love this little tweed dress, however there is not much shape to it and it kinda just hangs on me. Belt to the rescue! I can’t get enough of my skinny metallic belts and this one was the perfect touch and gave shape to the dress. I adore my gray Louboutins but they are a tad too big for me and when I walk they kinda fall off my feet. Don’t you hate that when you have shoes that you love but they just don’t fit right? I’m on the verge of selling them as I’ve only worn them a handful of times but they are just so pretty that I can’t bear to part with them yet. I already have foot petals in them which helps a little. If anyone has a solution to make my feet grow, let me know! πŸ˜‰

Hair and makeup was bare and unfussy that day. I just didn’t feel like getting all made up, which is a rare day for me. I love to do my hair and makeup but that day I just wanted to put on a dress and be done. Also because the sun is too high in the morning, we have started to take pictures after work so this is what I look like after a long day of work. Not as perky as I am in the mornings. πŸ™‚

I did clip my hair back with a pretty purple bow that I got from Hot Topic. Yes! Hot Topic! A few weeks ago we were out at dinner and I was telling my husband that I needed to get my sister a tiara for her bachelorette party. I had no idea where to go when he was like, “How about Hot Topic?” and he pointed to it right across the street from where we were eating. I was skeptical, why would they have a tiara? But we walked in and checked out the hair accessories and there it was a rack full of tiaras! I picked out a pretty pink one for her and then noticed all the cute hair bows they had so picked out these two.

Cute right? So I pinned my hair back with the purple one that day which added just the right touch to my otherwise boring outfit. I love unexpected finds at unexpected places.

    You look AMAZING!
Belt always adds up either shape or sassy-ness for the whole look, I tend to add belts with anything flow-y.

The hair clips are so cute!

Kelly- thank you girl! i owe you an email! will catch up with you tonight πŸ™‚

chyyfire – thanks for your suggestion! the problem is that my foot just slides forward so that my heel doesn't even touch the back, so heel grips don't work either.

L.A. Daze – thank you so much for your comment! I hope it's not your last πŸ™‚ will check out your blog as soon as I get a chance!

Onada – thank you! who doesn't love the Loubies right? πŸ˜‰ haha

Chessa – you are always too kind. πŸ™‚

Kristin – thank you! I have looked at some of those Etsy shops, I wonder how big the clips are tho? my hair is so thick I think little girl clips would hold about 3 strands of my hair!

Lily G. yes, belts are the best!

Nikki – I think we've been lucky with the weather the past few weeks! It's a bit overcast today though.

    Maegan – thanks!

Mrs. Zeus – sassy-ness is a must! hehe

Kelley – BCBG makes the best little dresses don't they?

Liz – I think I always look better after a glass of wine too. πŸ˜‰

janettaylor, Heidi, WendyB – thank you ladies!

the new black – I need a thin red belt! I have a thick one, but thin would be really cute!

The Professional Bridesmaid – thank you for visiting! hope you come back! πŸ™‚

eri – Yay! glad you like the tees as much as me!

that dress is fantastic! I love the addition of a metallic belt! I've been needing one for a while; I think it adds a nice touch to cardigans and dresses and helps make everything look a lot more pulled together.

Love the dress on you! :] It's 10x beautiful!

OMG, I just hate that too! I ALWAYS find a pair of the most gorgeous pair of shoes but they are either too BIG or too SMALL. x_x
I'm going through almost the same exact thing! I have these sandals from Urban Outfitters that I've only worn a couple of times and they are super-tight on me feet now, so I'm trying to sell them. :]

And the bows are super-cute, also! (:
I was actually surprised to hear you got them from Hot Topic; I'd never had the guts to walk inside those stores; the people who work there just always scared me a little. :]

great outfit– my sister always have shoe fit trouble (she swears her foot is a 6 3/4 size) and she has a lot of lock making big shoes a bit snugger with dr scholl's gel heel pads, not sure what the actual name of the product is, but do check it out before you part ways with such lovely shoes!

Oh I have the shoe problem too! It's frustrating – I swear that my feet shrink in winter too…I've resorted to putting full insoles in =(

I love the dress, it's suitable for work yet still a fresh (and very flattering) change from the suits!
