I really wasn't kidding you when I told you that I've been buying shorts like crazy. They have replaced my cute little summer dresses this year! I got these plaid ones from Gilt and wasn't crazy about them at first but once I knew what to wear with them then I fell in love.

The shorts definitely are not as fitted as I like and they can look kinda bunchy around the hips so I tried to balance it out by tucking in the short and adding the short blazer. If I had tried to wear anything bigger around the shorts it would have just made me look bigger overall.
My little yellow bandeau (as worn in my Rocker Lookbook) made it into this outfit as well as I wanted to just add a little pop of color and what better way than that little peep of yellow.

This blazer has so many fun details on it. It's one of my favorites. The little bunched up sleeves, the piping and even the little brooch. Great simple and subtle details.
Don't feel like you have to put away your blazers just because it's summer, blazers and shorts are my new favorite outfit! You can also wear blazers with your cute summer dresses. I love being able to wear some of my fall/winter clothes well into the summer. I do realize if you live somewhere super hot it might not work but you probably also have milder winters than us so you win on that front :)

I have a La Rok blazer that has amazing details too...I love their clothes and especially bc of that...so many unexpected things that make the piece so unique...this is not your ordinary black blazer! and I agree that you can wear them in summer too. you look adorabella in this ensemble.
