10 things...

I was the lucky recipient of this blog award from the amazing Janetteria! Thank you so much!

I have to reveal 10 interesting things about myself so here goes:
  1. I hate housework. My husband does the majority of housework. But what I hate most is vacuuming so he does all the vacuuming.
  2. I do not get sweaty. Even when I'm really hot or even when I work out. I sweat but it's not noticeable. I mainly just get red in the face.
  3. I don't cook that often but when I do, it is damn good!
  4. When we are home, we always have the TV on but I never actually watch it. Just the other day I saw a commercial and made a comment to J about it and he said "that commercial has been on since last month!"
  5. My first pair of designer shoes that I bought myself were these Marc by Marc Jacobs blue platform heels with a butterfly at the toe. I thought they were the most beautiful shoes I've ever seen. I still have them, I should pull them out and do a photoshoot!
  6. I'm really scared of bees. I've never been stung and am really afraid of getting stung.
  7. I'm not big on swearing but my husband will drop the F-bomb almost every time we get in the car. I get mad at him for swearing, he gets mad at the cars that make him swear. It's a never ending cycle. :)
  8. I paint my nails every week as I hate chipped nails with a passion. I have found an awesome combination of nail products that keeps my nails chip-free for at least week. Will do a post on it soon! (I used to go through only 2 days before my nails would chip so a week is amazing for me.)
  9. I still stare at my engagement ring and weddings rings every day and think how pretty they are. I also shove it in my husband's face every once in awhile and say " See how SHINY they are!!" I like to prove to him that the price for the diamond quality was worth it :)
  10. I am genuinely confused by this "HOLLA!" thing that I see a lot, especially on twitter. Like someone will say "I did this <insert fantastic thing>. HOLLA!" WTH is Holla and where did it start from? It is something you will never hear me say or write, well, except for in this post. duh. ;)
Sponsor Spotlight!

As you may have noticed I have new sponsors for I am Style-ish and can I tell you how crazy it is that everyone's ads match my color scheme? Loves it! I will be doing a sponsor spotlight throughout the month because I love all of them!

First up is The White Dress Shop! You might know the owner already as she writes Onada's Lookbook and is a fabulous photographer at Onada Photography. She recently launched The White Dress Shop and although it's still in the beginning stages, she's already got a ton of really cute stuff!

From Onada:
The dream for The White Dress Shop was born as an online store that caters to the modern girl's style and taste for all things white and fabulous. "There's nothing like a beautifully accessorized crisp white dress and every girl should own at least one!". The White Dress Shop will also carry tops, bottoms, a vintage jewelry section and will feature a "wild card" section for colored clothing.
It officially opens on August 31st but is taking and shipping orders for items currently in stock.

I for one, am in love with this tank. What a fun top for the summer and I can see myself wearing it underneath a blazer for the winter too!

buy it here!

  4. Hahaha, LOVE your ten things! When (errr....IF) I get engaged I would so do that to B. Guys may pretend they don't care but secretly they are proud to give their ladies some serious eye candy! BTW, thanks for your tips on thick hair, I should definitely get mine thinned out a lot more than I do. I know whenever I get back from the salon after they thin it out I'm running my fingers through my hair going, "WOW, my head feels so much lighter!" Hahaha.

As for the vacuuming, may i suggest, buying the Roomba( their new 5 sereis), i was totally against buying it but since my husband had to do all the vacuuming he bought it as a git for himself...and we couldnt have been happier.
I too stare/shove my engagement ring.
Plz Plz do the nail paint post asap. My nailpaint too doesnt survive beyond 2-3 days.

  11. OK I had to respond to some of your facts :)

#1 I hear you on the housework. I'm getting better at it-- as my husband is a neat freak, and we have a wonderful cleaner!

    #2: You're very lucky ;)

#8: Oh I would drive you crazy. I'm typing this with chipped nails ;)

#9: I do too. LOL!!! "I still stare at my engagement ring and weddings rings every day and think how pretty they are. I also shove it in my husband's face every once in awhile and say " See how SHINY they are!!""

#10: I say HOLLA all the time. It makes me giggle. Just like saying stuff like "Dawg."

  12. CUTE tank!! I must own that.

Haha I don't do housework either, especially the vacuuming. My husband actually LIKES to vacuum, he says it relieves tension... uhh vacuum away, sweet cheeks! We recieved a Dyson for our wedding shower over a year ago, and I tried to use it a few weeks ago for the first time and had to ask him where to turn it on. Sad but true. I always stare at my rings, especially when they glisten in the sunlight. Does "Holla" mean "holler?"

PLEASE let us know your nail polish secrets... I use OPI and that seems to last the longest. I get about 3 or 4 days out of it. But I'm curious about your regiment. Thanks!!

  13. all i have to say is HOLLA!!! lol

  14. HOLLA! I don't get it either.

  15. What great facts! So cute! You are SO LUCKY you don't sweat. I totally sweat...like a boy. But worse. Like a pig. Like a man pig. And I smell like one too. NOT ATTRACTIVE.

HOLLA! Haha just kidding. Hollering usually means you're just celebrating, e.g. "yay me." Holler could also mean that you're checking someone out, e.g. "I totally hollered at this one chick." =)

  16. I need that nail routine! I too HATE chipped nails and can only go about 2 days!

  17. that top is adorable...will go check out the shop!!

I hate chipped nails too...I have them done at a salon every other week, but bring my own color so I can fix them in between! Always love learning more about you!!!

  18. oh please post the nail tutorial soon! i'm desperate for some tips... i also detest chipped nails and my polish looks pretty for 36 hours tops! :(

  19. Yay, now I get to learn more about you, I love this! Ooh and definitely a few things in common. HOLLA! LOL, I don't actually talk like that. I know you said you guys don't watch much TV but if you saw Project Runway last season, this one guy was trying to teach Tim Gunn to say it - Tim was utterly confused, but ended up giving in and saying it anyway - hilarity!!!
And #2 Oh my goodness me too - hubs/friends hate when I go with them to the gym cause they always come out dripping sweat and I look dry as a bone. And I'm so scared of bees too! I hope me and you both never have to experience getting stung. I don't swear either, I write LMBO cause I can't even type the A - I know, I'm a dork ;) I can't wait to see this chip-proof post, so excited!

Oh & just saw that you won Savvy Mode's giveaway - congratulations!!! I hope they have a 5 for you :) xx

  20. Great 10 things- I'm envious of your not-sweaty-ness. I am a SWEATER. (Sweat-er?). I could sweat while doing anything, and it just drips off of me. Horrible. Both my mom and sister are the same way. The good thing is that I'm not a naturally smelly person (or so I've been told), even though I look like I might be once I've been exercising for awhile. I'M NOT STINKY, I PROMISE.

    I loooove that bow top!

  21. First of all, I love your blog. You have fabulous style.

Second, I look forward to hearing your tips about making a manicure last longer. My nails are beginning to chip as I type...

  22. I have always admired Onada from afar, and she's doing so many great things. Wonder if her online retail store and photography are part time. That'd make her busy as a bee.

  23. Love this post, darling! I am terrified of bees too! And I despise housework :)

  24. Great 10 things! And not to sound lake a fanatic or anything but I swear your #1,2,3,5,and 9 are exactly the same case with me!

Even (sooo weird) #5. My first pair of designer soes were the Marc Jacobs peeptoes with the butterfly. Except mine are in Red. I saw them on Katie Holmes (nee Cruise) and had to have them. Still love em as their my first babies.

#1 - I have the answer to vacumming - I LOVE our Roomba "Rosie". She is perfect for our condo. May need to get her a partner once we get a house. And I'm with Dream Sequins on getting a house cleaner.

#2 - Never used to sweat until last year. Not sure cuz I'm getting older or because I work out more now?
#9 - Do this at least once or twice a week. :) And I'm sure both our J's are secretly very proud we still are so happy and enamoured with our bling.

    Anyhow - great post!

  25. I am definitely guilty of using "holla!" it's like saying "woot!" which I overuse, as well. :)

I am completely afraid of bees too. it's totally irrational.

    have a great weekend!!

  26. Darling tank!

I use a Roomba so no vacuuming here :) They are quite fab. I definitely recommend them.
