Next stop, San Francisco!

I'm a traveler. I just love it and can't get enough of it. I attribute it to my parents who love traveling as well and took me and my siblings to some of the most amazing places in the world all before I turned 18. I have an incredible amount of stamps in my passport and I have yet to change my name on my passport even though I have changed it everywhere else because it makes me too sad to give up my old passport and start with a new one with no stamps in it. Silly, I know, but I love how old my passport is and my silly picture that everyone exclaims that I look so young. I think I will only replace it when it expires which unfortunately is coming up next year.

This year, all of our trips have been pretty close together and had the fortune of going to a lot of sunny, tropical locales. We started with our trip to Cabo in March, in May we were lucky enough to shoot a beautiful wedding in Jamaica and then we were off for my sister's wedding in the Riviera Maya in July.

We had nothing planned for August and when I don't have a trip planned, in the back of my head I'm always thinking, where should we go next? I don't actually plan our trips nor do I consult my husband, I always just have this one day where I think "Let me look at airfares" with no intention of buying and really not even knowing where I want to go but then I just end up booking it on the spot and then let him know. I also attribute that to my parents as I remember being in school and then the next day my parents would say "start packing we're going to on a cruise to the Carribean!" My reaction was always "um what?" and then "oh yay! Vacation!" They would do that sort of thing all the time. I have to say that this little spontaneous side of me is so unlike the rest of my life. I plan everything to the T. I have multiple calendars and to do lists and check everything off. With travel it's like my little escape from my usual detailed "plan everything out" self which is just something that I need and is something that my husband happily indulges me in.

So where am I getting at? Oh yes! Last week, I was at work and decided to click on over to check flight prices, because I'm getting antsy to travel again and there it was, $98 roundtrip flight to San Francisco! It was done and purchased in a matter of minutes. Then a happy dance and an Instant Message to J telling him that we were going to San Francisco in September and then I booked the hotel. J and I love San Francisco, it is actually one of the very first trips we took together when we started dating. My sister lived in San Francisco for awhile and we got to stay with her and explore the city. I've been back multiple times since then but that first trip we went when we were still in college and traveling with your boyfriend was a huge deal it was such a good trip and I have great memories from it.

I get emails from lovely readers all the time letting me know that if I'm ever in their city they would love to meet up so I thought I'd put it out there and let you all know that I am coming and would love to meet up with any of my readers from the Bay Area! Also, because we are picture taking fanatics, we decided to offer photo sessions while we are down there and take advantage of shooting in the pretty city. So if you are interested in a photoshoot with us, we would love to take your picture! My readers always get a fabulous rate so if you or anyone you know is interested in an engagement session or just a fun photo session I will give you (or them) the discounted rate. Our available dates will be September 26, 27 & 28. If you are interested, email me tiffany (at) style-ish.com with the date that you want. We're not going to do too many probably only 2, maybe 3 photo sessions so whoever gets to me first will get the spots! If you just want to meet up for coffee/drinks/girl talk, I would love that too!

Oh and if any of you have fabulous restaurant and shopping recommendations please send them my way. Although I've been there quite a bit, I know that San Francisco always has new things popping up everywhere so I would love to know where the best spots are to go to! We are staying in Union Square but J and I are not afraid to take the BART so we will be doing lots of exploring.

  3. Haha I am the exact same way with travel! I'm never really "planning" for it, I just happen to stumble across something and before you know it, I've clicked purchase. Oops! :P Sometimes it drives my husband nuts but for the most part, he's learned to get used to it (and excited about it!).

You're going to have an awesome time in SF! Here are a few of my fave SF restaurants:

    -Ame
    -Coco500
    -Fresca
    -Piperade
    -Piqueos
    -Delfina

Ahh I can't believe I have to leave the Bay Area. It's so awesome here. Have a fabulous trip!

  7. My parents are just like yours! Unfortunately, I did have to get a new passport because I filled up all the pages. And then I went off to college with my new passport, and only one stamp in it. Boo :( It's slowly being filled up again though. Have fun in SF! I love it up there.

  10. Awesome! I LOVE SF so much that when I came up here for school, I never wanted to leave! Ionno what kind of places you like, but I love little mom n pops places, so here's a few I'd recommend:

Genki's - awesome crepes, both dessert and savory (on clement st between 3rd and 4th)
Burma Superstar - this place always has a looooong line but if you get there early enough you should be okay (this is also on clement st near Genki's)
Bittersweet Cafe - everything here is delicious

I hope I can see you when you're visiting! I love love ur blog!

  13. Have a fun trip!

Regarding your passport, do they no longer return your old passport to you with your new one? I haven't had to renew mine in a number of years, but when I did, I got the old one back, just with a hole punched through it, so I was able to keep it :)

  29. How awesome that you found a RT flight to SF for $98!! My boyfriend and I are trying to find a cheap flight from SF to Florida...so far, no luck. Anyway, here are some fabulous places to eat in the city:

    Mamacita www.mamacitasf.com
Blue Barn www.bluebarngourmet.com This is more of a lunch place, it's casual but they have the most AMAZING salads and sandwiches!
    Barracuda

Also, pretty much any place on Chestnut or Union St. has really good restaurants
