You all are used to seeing me in skinny jeans and I do prefer skinny jeans to "unskinny" jeans but I do actually own quite a few of them. I think maybe because of my shape and my height, skinny jeans are more flattering on me because when I get into the "baggier" jeans territory I can look really short and stumpy. These jeans are a bit more like trousers with the slight flare, cuffed bottoms and flap back pockets. For those of you who have asked, yes, I hem all my jeans and pants including ones like these, I just ask my tailor to cuff it exactly the same. That is the reason why I recommend everyone to find a good tailor. Clothes always look better when they are fit to you. If you are in Seattle, go to Hannah at City Custom Tailors, she has been tailoring my clothes for the past 4 years and has done an excellent job. I don't know what I'd do without her. I even took my wedding dress to her and that says a lot! She is amazing. (Update: When I first wrote this I think a few of you thought that I meant that I thought these jeans were unflattering. I didn't mean it that way. I do like these jeans on me. I just meant that wider leg jeans can be unflattering but with the right fit and the right tailoring, they can work just as well as skinny jeans.)

I stopped shopping at Forever 21 for awhile. I just got bored of the stuff so I stopped looking at the website for awhile. I think it's been about a good 6 months. So anyway, I was randomly surfing the internet and was in the mood to buy so checked into Forever 21 and found some cute stuff including this shirt. You can't see it in this picture but it's actually a bib necklace attached to the t-shirt so it looks like I'm wearing a separate necklace. It's pretty cute I have to say!
I'm trying out new lipstick colors and moving towards the reds. I can't do a full red-red lip yet (like the fabulous WendyB), but I'm slowly moving towards that direction. My husband is not a fan (yet) but I like it. It's good to change things up!
I have a lip palette from Coastal Scents that I've been mixing colors so this isn't one color in particular, I think it's like 3. My new favorite thing when wearing dark colors is to brighten it up with a bright lip. I think it makes me a bit happier!

Aw, you don't look bad in trousers. I prefer skinny jeans like you do too since we're probably around the same height lol.
ReplyDeleteI definitely recognize the top. When I first saw it on a customer, I thought the bib necklace was separate so it looks like you accessorized w/o actually trying to. I wish I could stop browsing forever21, but I work there. I have managed to check their website less though.
I like the red lips. It's also a trend that I've really really liked, but I think is hard to execute because I usually see it on older women.

I love skinny jeans but because I'm wider they don't look as great, but I also hate bootleg so I've learned to love straight legged jeans. Happy medium I think for me.

ReplyDeleteI like the bright lip, it does add a punchy cheerfulness to your look that is so needed on our gray winter days. I'm kinda meh on the wider legs actually, but maybe they look better IRL.
