Project 365

Hello my loves, I'm BACK! We had such a fantastic time that even though we were away for 2 weeks, we still didn't want to leave. It was all so amazing and we feel so lucky to be able to travel and see the world. Just a little pic of the trip. Will have a full post soon, I'm sure we'll do one for the photo blog as well.

So, one thing that I decided that I wanted to do last year was to start a "project 365" for 2010. Meaning a project for myself in which I take a picture of something, anything every single day for the entire year. My husband and I got into photography not because we wanted to be wedding photographers. That was just a plus. We got into photography because we truly love it. I love capturing everyday moments, I love the gazillion pictures that we have of each other, of our dogs, of our families,of our neighborhood, of the food we eat. Just all the details that I might not remember 5 years from now. At the latter end of 2009, J and I noticed that we suddenly stopped taking those pictures. We had started concentrating too much on taking pictures for other people that we forgot the real reason why we wanted to pick up these cameras. We suddenly found ourselves with several thousands of dollars of camera equipment and we weren't being creative with it in our own lives. SO that's what kicked it off and I want to go back to remembering why I love photography so much. (Not that I don't love shooting couples, families and weddings because I do love that part too!)

I didn't mention this project earlier as I wanted to just start the project on my own and of course remembered to continue it while I was in China. If you'd like to see my pictures feel free to click here. If you click on the pictures, I've made sure to describe the picture or the day that I took it so it has a little bit of context. I'm thinking I will probably compile it into a separate blog as well. At the end of the year I plan to make a photobook out of it and have a great keepsake of my 2010, with pictures of ordinary and maybe some unordinary things in my every day life.

I know I'm not the only person out there doing this as there are entire flickr groups dedicated to it, although I haven't joined any. And... I jumped on the formspring bandwagon. I was intrigued with this new way to ask questions and since I get so many emails a day with questions from readers (and I'm super slow to answer, so so sorry! I'm trying to get through them as soon as I can!) I figured this might be a better and easier way for me to answer any questions.
