Jewelry Organization

I had a reader request to show how I organize my jewelry and I always like to see how other people organize their stuff so thought it would be a good post. I have piles and piles of jewelry as I'm sure lots of girls have. My biggest thing are necklaces, I have so many of them and I can not stop buying them! If you look at my lookbooks I think you will see me wearing a necklace in almost every look. I hardly ever go out without a necklace on.

This is my pretty jewelry organizer that is on the wall in our bedroom. I found this organizer through a post from my girl Candace Rose. I had been looking for the longest time for a jewelry organizer, I was previously using a DIY metal board + pins to hold up my necklaces but this was so much prettier. Sorry I don't have a picture of it closed as my flash kept on bouncing off the glass and making a horrible glare so you only get the open pictures, but closed it looks like a frame for your jewelry.

I got it from Sacred Accessories however it doesn't look like they sell it anymore. I googled it and found this place that sells the same one. It looks like you can have different backgrounds too which is great if you want to match your bedroom. When I bought it they only had the raffia background but I like it a lot as it makes my jewelry pop out.

I love the little hooks. They're pretty strong so I can keep several necklaces or bracelets on one hook and not feel like it's going to snap off.

As you can see from the first picture, it holds a lot of my necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings. I don't keep that many earrings on the holder as I have a lot more big earrings that don't fit in the space. I also use the ledge to hold some of my rings. It's pretty stable (I think it's because my husband bolted it to the wall. lol) so when I open the case nothing falls out.

So, you may have noticed that all of those necklaces are short necklaces so what do I do with the long ones? Well, it's definitely not as nice as the organizer I just showed you!

They're just hooks that I keep inside our walk-in closet. Because they look so cluttered I'd rather have them hidden away than out so inside the closet, next to the door was the perfect wall space. I started out with this one so that's why the hook is much nicer but once it got out of control, I just went out and bought those 3M Hooks that stick on your wall but are easy to take off, and just put them up next to the first one.

See how this one is just the plastic hanger? But oh well, it's inside the closet so no one sees it but me (except now, all my readers but don't judge me for it k'? haha!)

This is the best way for me to organize as the necklaces do not get tangled up and it's easy to find which one I want and to grab it from the hook.

So, finally for my rings and my hoop earrings I use the "small canister" from Crate and Barrel and keep it on my nightstand. It's a nice small sleek box that's big enough to hold lots of stuff and not overclutter my nightstand.

I keep my wedding and engagement rings in a another box as well as several of my fine jewelry pieces. I usually don't mind if I mix my fine jewelry with my costume jewelry but I keep some of my more "fancy" stuff that I don't wear as often separate just so I know for sure where they are. I also have a separate box for bigger bangles as those things are always too giant and cluttered to be able to mix with any of my other pieces.

Overall, it's a great little system for me and my crazy jewelry addiction. Lately I've been loving all of J. Crew's costume jewelry so have been buying it all from there but Forever 21 is always a great place to pick up some cheap but really cute stuff.
