Anyway, this break will be the first time in my "adult life" where I have absolutely no plans to work (like career-wise work) I'll be concentrating on personal projects that I've been wanting to do, working on our photography business and just enjoying time with my husband and puppies and seeing my girlfriends for some good ol' girls night of lots of drinks and lots of laughs. I'm so glad to have made this decision so I can get my health and well being back on track. I don't plan on taking a blogging break because I love my little blog but I will be spending less time on the computer. For the next few weeks, please excuse my lack of commenting, twittering and slow response to emails. (And will also be taking my formspring down soon). I'm taking some time to enjoy life and be free for once! Yay!
To my style.ish clients and potential clients, I will still be answering emails daily so if you need anything, feel free to contact me. :)
Husby is hard at work organizing, editing down and post processing the hundreds of pictures that we took in Hong Kong and China. I wanted to show you our hotel room in Hong Kong as it was a really neat space and I loved it.
We stayed at Lanson Place in Causeway Bay and I booked us a Deluxe room because I wanted a King bed and city views. When we got there we got upgraded to a Grand Deluxe room, yay!
When we first walked in we were welcomed with a big basket of goodies, snacks, drinks, etc... which is always a great thing after a long day of travel! The room had a kitchen with a stove, fridge, dishwasher, I mean everything that you needed, even pots and pans, chopsticks, silverware. It was so neat! But we didn't get a chance to use it since Hong Kong was so full of good food we never had a problem of not finding anything to eat while we were out.
I usually don't like taking pictures of hotel rooms because they never show how nice the room really is. Even when I stayed in a penthouse suite at the Bellagio in Vegas the pictures were just meh. But this room was fantastic since the lighting was great and there were mirrors everywhere which made the room even brighter.
J took these pictures and because of the mirrors, you will see me in almost every shot. We were saying that if you were vain, you would love this room because you couldn't walk one step without seeing a reflection of yourself!

The TV spun around so that you could watch it whether you were in the sitting room or in bed!

The only thing that was kinda weird about the room was that the bathroom had walls of glass! So this side was completely open and you could see right into it. WEIRD right? Who thought that was a good idea? I mean at least I was with my husband, imagine if you stayed here with girlfriends, it would get awkward!

When we stayed at The Mayfair in London (which is our favorite hotel ever), they had Gilchrist & Soames toiletries and it's the only place that we've stayed at so far that had that brand until this hotel. It's a fabulous brand to get freebie little lotions of! I love hotel body lotions, it's the perfect size to carry in my purse.

I was happy with our city view. Causeway Bay is a great place to stay in Hong Kong, it's got so many things close by. We walked so much and always had a new place to explore.

I took this picture from our window in the sitting area early one morning. The light was beautiful that day.

The hotel keys + style.ish :)

When we were out shopping I saw this sign flashing in a store front so I grabbed an iPhone pic of it. I thought you all would appreciate it!

Oh my ... that place looks GORGEOUS! Whenever I stay in HK I end up hoteling in dingy little places where I can barely maneuver around. So jealous that you'll be eating and shopping your heart out for 3 weeks. I miss HK street food so bad!
ReplyDeleteUm... whoa, that place looks INSANE. In a good way, obviously. I hope you enjoy your break! I am taking a little r+r day myself and I definitely don't deserve it as much as it sounds like you do.

ReplyDeleteI love the logo on your phone - I keep staring at it!! Cannot wait until Verizon gets iPhones - I am all over it.
ps - what's the stat on the email situation? Do I have to put my boxing gloves on??
XOXO
It's good to take a break/sabbatical.. i think it's very necessary for everyone's healt. These days we're all so wired from the moment we get up to trying to go to sleep... it's no wonder you can't sleep (or the opposite - I can pass out anywhere anytime, which is also not a good thing.)
ReplyDeleteLove your hotel room! And I agree, love to check out and see what brands of toiletries they carry. The good ones are always a score! :)
Enjoy your break!
