Lookbook: Zip Back Blazer

***Only two days left to enter my Ritz Crackerfuls Giveaway to win a $100 Visa gift card!***

I rave about many blazers but this one is THE blazer of all blazers.  LOVE it.  If you are in the market for a new blazer, I can’t recommend a better one.  It’s perfect in every way and even has a cool zipper detail on the back which allows you to make it more or less fitted.

What I’m Wearing:
Top: Forever 21
Jeans: Uniqlo
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Bracelets: Vintage & J. Crew

I got a question from Emily who asks:

“When you are checking a blazer for fit, do you have to button it and make sure it sits right? Or is it okay for girls to wear blazers unbuttoned and just make sure that the shoulders and arm length fits right? I can find blazers that fit my shoulders, arms, and torso okay but when I button it, it looks totally awkward because it doesn’t sit right. You seem to be a blazer expert so I figured I’d ask. Thanks!! :)”

Hi Emily!  In my preference, it is fine for girls to buy blazers based on the fit when it is unbuttoned.  I wear most of my blazers unbuttoned most of the time and so I check that the fit is perfect as I would wear it normally.  I totally hear ya about it getting awkward when it buttons.  To me, it doesn’t matter, as long as it looks good unbuttoned and that’s how I plan on wearing it that way then I just want the shoulders and arm length to fit right.  Most of the time the arm length never fits so I just roll up the sleeves to make it work.

Absolutely love the blazer! I can't afford the $395 pricetag on it, and it's not available in my size. Maybe that's for the best. I'm definitely on the lookout for an "inspired by" option.

Elizabeth and James consistently creates some of the best blazers out there. I love their pieces so much because of details like the zipper on your blazer! Great look!

Great blazer! And I've never considered nude Louboutins before, always sticking to the dark side but I think I'll have to go grab myself a pair pronto now!

    I love that outfit!
I have always wanted to get a REAL blazer, but I'm only 16, and I don't see anyone else my age wearing it.
I was wondering if there should be an age limit on blazers? or would it look right for me to wear one?

    here's my new blog (tips?):
