I had lots of you tell me that you were going to try out the vest + dress combo that I styled in my “Vesty” lookbook, did you do it yet? I want to see how you paired it together! I liked it so much that I decided to try it again. I hope you don’t get too bored of this look as this is probably not the last time you’ll see me doing it!
What I’m Wearing:
Dress: Gift from Alainn Bella
Vest: Ben Sherman
Shoes: Miu Miu
Nail Polish: Gift from Eyeko Cosmetics
Megan, the owner of Alainn Bella, sent along this adorable dress from her online shop. Isn’t is so cute? I love the stripes and the bubble hem. The dress comes with the belt and looks great as is but I belted over the vest for a bit of a different look.
Eyeko sent over some of their makeup for me to try out and I loved it all. I had been on the hunt for a perfect polish for the summer and their Coral polish was exactly what I needed. You gotta check out their packaging too. Such cute stuff!
On a different note: Do I have any readers from Vancouver, B.C.? I’m planning a trip to take my parents up there for my dad’s birthday and I need some reccommendations of things to do while we are there. I would like to go to a park or somewhere with nice scenery to take pictures or just somewhere fun! I would love any suggestions! Please leave a comment or send me an email.

August 9, 2010 at 4:55 pmLove this look 🙂
Some great places to check out while in Van:
– Ambleside Park
– Queen Elizabeth Park (most people take wedding pictures here)
– Anywhere along the seawall is nice or the Olympic Village
– regular tourist-y spots: Capilano Suspension bridge, Vancouver Aquarium, Vancouver Art Gallery, etc.
– Some of my fav restaurants: Medina Cafe (for waffles! they have this amazing white chocolate pistachio topping and lavender latte), Hapa Izakaya for Japanese tapas and drinks, the Eatery is a really funky Japanese restaurant
Enjoy your visit 🙂

August 10, 2010 at 2:41 amTiffany, you look great! That dress was made for you and I love how you added the vest. The heels are to die for! I really should invest in a good pair of pumps/heels, but the hefty price tag scares me! hee hee. Hopefully one day. My feet deserve them. 🙂 Hope your week is off to a great start.
xx Love & Aloha

August 10, 2010 at 3:32 amI am a Vancouverite currently living in Melbourne Australia.
Definitely visit Stanley Park for photos and UBC's Nitobe Gardens and Pacific Spirit Park for photos. SP is the most touristy and gorgeous, but I think the UBC gardens are a hidden gem most people don't bother to explore.
Gastown is adorable and 'old-world' with some amazing restaurants (visit the Diamond for the best cocktails you'll find in the city. You'll have to ask a local though it's easy to miss).
Granville Island is a great market but I've never been to Pike Place so I'm not sure how it compares.
Yaletown is trendy but fun with some good restaurants too.
Any other questions let me know, I'm more than happy to help.

August 10, 2010 at 5:23 amI'm from Vancouver!! :]
If you are looking for a park, go to Stanley park :] It's the place everyone goes to during the summer to bike or rollerblade around the seawall or just to go for a leisurely stroll.
If you are looking for something interesting to do, we have a summer night market on now in Richmond where you an get some great street food or do some shopping for random things (ie. home stuff, nail stuff, jewellry etc). They are open Fri-Sun & holidays from around 7 to 1 am (depending on the day0
Here's their website: http://www.summernightmarket.com/main/default.asp
And if you are looking for a place to eat, I'd highly recommend going to Chambar in downtown Vancouver. This mushroom starter/appetizer & their pomme fritz are AWESOME.

August 12, 2010 at 6:46 amSuch an adorable outfit! I love the pop of color with that belt.
I'm from Vancouver!! When are you coming? I would say visit the Richmond night market, as well as walk along the sea wall in Stanley Park. Also you must eat the famous Japa dogs on Burrard and Smithe as well as visit the Asian food court in Aberdeen mall (try the Beard Papa cream puffs!). For shopping, check out Holt Renfrew downtown and of course all our Aritzia stores 😉
