The same but different

I often get comments and questions from girls who love my taste in shoes but don't quite have the budget for the Louboutins or Jimmy Choos just yet. I've actually been seeing a lot of shoes that are quite similar in styles to certain designer shoes so thought I'd share my finds.

All pictures are clickable and will link you directly to the product.
The first is this Jimmy Choo sandal (in the middle). I actually got this question on formspring if I could find a cheaper version of it and I ended up finding two! The white ones by Ruthie Davis are still on the expensive side but they are on sale for 60% off! But click on the brown ones for the best price and a lot of color choices too.

Jimmy Choo "Private" Cuff Sandal

Next is the Tory Burch wrap sandal. I saw these recently and really liked them. I think they will make a perfect summer shoe. Can you guess which one is the Tory Burch one and which one is the non-designer one? Both look great don't they?

Tory Burch Wrap-Up Sandals

And this doesn't just apply to shoes. You know how much I'm loving the Valentino bow bags and this hobo bag is such a great size. The alternative version however is only $14.99!

Valentino 'Nuage Medium' Hobo Bag

I got these L.A.M.B. shoes last year and they are one of my favorite pairs to wear in the spring.

And look what I found! A perfect copy of it in a much better price point. Plus mine have been sold out for months now.

One of my readers alerted me to this and she wrote about it on her blog too. She found a great duplicate of my Alexander Wang Duffle bag that you saw on this lookbook.

So you definitely can get the look for less, you just gotta look around a bit!

My Week in iPhone Pictures

Most of the time, I take my camera with me when I travel, even on business trips. This last trip that I took though, I just wasn't able to bring it with me. Traveling alone means that I have to carry everything myself and little me isn't strong enough to carry hundred pounds of luggage, so decided to leave my camera at home and take advantage of my iPhone camera. I ended up taking quite a few pictures throughout the week and it's fun to have them in my phone. Like Chase Jarvis says, "The best camera is the one that's with you." You don't need a fancy camera all the time to take nice pictures. Just use what you have and be creative with it.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share the pictures that I took last week. A bit of a week in the life of Tiffany in the form of iPhone pictures. :)

I started the week out on a plane so I thought this was an appropriate picture of the day.

I'm a pretty seasoned traveler since I travel so much for business and vacation, so I've got the whole security line thing down pat. It was so funny this time as I walked through, did my thing and the guy behind me stopped me before I left with my stuff and said "I just need to tell you how much I appreciate you as a woman, being prepared and going through this security line so efficiently. My wife takes FOREVER!" I laughed so hard. I was like "Uh, I do this 4 times a month, I'm pretty experienced."

I had dinner and drinks with a co-worker at a fancy shmancy restaurant at the top of a hotel and the view was gorgeous. This picture doesn't do it justice but I love that you can see all the varying colors in the sky.

My morning coffee...
IMG_0201
It's funny that I live in downtown Seattle and there's at least 2 Starbucks in every one block here but I haven't been to one in years. There are just too many other independent coffee shops here that have much better coffee/espresso and I'm a bit of a coffee snob. I'm a coffee purist, I like it black and I like it strong but I want it to be GOOD. I think Starbucks is only good at the foofy kind of drinks that have taken over the world and I just don't like those. Their drip coffee is just okay. However, when I travel, it's nice to see a familiar brand and know what to expect so really the only times I go to Starbucks is when I'm not in Seattle!

Picture messages from my husband always make me happy to see what's going on at home. :)

Snow in March? Really? I'm glad that I don't live here full time!
IMG_0203

I loved this sign. It made me laugh and then made me really want to see a moose! ( I didn't see one)
IMG_0205

My makeup/skincare takes up a huge part of my suitcase. This is only just a smidge of what I bring. Before I travel, I always have dreams that I forget my makeup and then I freak out about it. I have no idea why because I've never forgotten it but it's a recurring dream!

Another picture message from the hubs. Macho smiling in his sleep! Sooo cute!
IMG_0208

Finally, on my way home! Flying over the mountains is breathaking but I have to say I was so happy to see the bright greens when we flew over Seattle!

Now I'm back home but soon to be off on vacation with the hubs and the in-laws... Maybe I'll do another week in pictures! :)

Travel Diary: China & Hong Kong

This post is long overdue since we took our trip in January, but better late than never right? Instead of writing about my trip, just thought I'd post our photo diary. Enjoy!

In Dongguan, China

Street market food! This was so delish.
Dongguan
We ate at a pizza hut there! The pizzas had very interesting toppings... popcorn chicken pizza anyone?
Dongguan
We stumbled upon this park right smack in the middle of a very busy city. They did a great job of blocking out the noise from the city, it was quiet and serene.

Just a tid bit of the goodies we ate while in China.

Our hotel lobby, loved the chandelier
IMG_2449
The hotel had a Koi fish pond that you could look out to while eating breakfast.

We went to a local street market there and it was quite the experience. Dongguan is not a tourist city so we got the full blown Chinese experience. It was crazy! I didn't take too many pictures but loved this one I got. You should've seen how many more bikes were lined up on the walls.

We also spent a day in Macau and visited the Venetian there which is the largest casino in the world. It was crazy just how big it was. You could get lost in there and not come out for days.
IMG_2501Macau-12
Macau is like Las Vegas, a huge section is just full of hotels and casinos, so we got out of the casino area and took a taxi to the local area and walked around some of the outside markets. I've tried all these fruits before but J hasn't so he got his first taste of some exotic fruits!

This was our last day in China...
Dongguan
And off to Hong Kong we went!
Hong Kong-50Hong Kong-106IMG_2700IMG_2704
Hubs went crazy in Mong Kok with all the sneaker stores there. It was insane how many there were. He walked away with quite a few pairs!
IMG_2711IMG_2717
This was taken on the Avenue of the Stars. They have such a pretty night skyline in Hong Kong.

The view of Causeway Bay from our hotel room. If you haven't seen our hotel room pictures yet, click here.

And finally us taking some silly pictures in the room!
IMG_2678IMG_2681
LOL! We are crazy!

We did so much stuff and we both have so many more pictures but those were some of the highlights! We enjoyed our time in Dongguan as it was just a totally different environment for us. I can speak Mandarin but not fluently so it was a bit difficult getting around. We managed though. Hong Kong was definitely more our city, we loved the hustle and bustle of the city, all the amazing restaurants to eat at, the bakeries (I love Chinese pastries), the SHOPPING was incredible and just everything was fun, since we are such night owls, we loved that we could be out and about at midnight and the city was still completely alive. We never had a boring day there and can't wait to go back already!

All photos by me and J. Some of them were edited by hubs that's why there's the style.ish logo on it. :)
