Lookbook: Minty

I have never worn anything close to this minty green color but when I saw this dress I fell in love.  It's one of those romantic girly girl dresses that I just adore but I don't wear often enough.  Luckily it was still mild enough for me to go bare legs but I'm looking forward to pairing this dress with tights and a cardi!

What I'm Wearing
Dress: Madewell
Belt: Nordstrom
Shoes: Miu Miu
Bag: Louis Vuitton Neverfull
Earrings: From Macy's
Nail Polish: China Glaze "Grape Pop" and OPI "You Don't Know Jacques"

Shop the Lookbook
It's not on the Madewell website but Shopbop has it on sale.  Just to let you know though, when I was at Madewell this weekend and saw that my dress is on SUPER sale for only $49.99!  I paid over 3 times that for the regular price!  If you have a Madewell store by you, go snap it up now!  They have it in black too.

I wouldn't have even looked at this color before this dress but am not noticing a lot of cute mint-y dresses!  This Phillip Lim dress is so fun and I think a great dress to wear to a wedding.  And same for this little dress.
Miu Miu Suede Strappy Platform Sandals
So in love with the blush color of these sandals.  But I wouldn't mind adding these glittery heels to my collection!  Not sure I'd wear them but they are so pretty to look at!

I adore this bag.  It's just a classic and functional bag (and it's a pretty good price point for LV!).  I have it in the monogram as well.  You can fit so much in it and it doesn't hurt my shoulders and most importantly it doesn't fall off my shoulders!  I don't know if it's just me but I seem to get a lot of handbags that continually fall off my shoulders and having to keep on adjusting it.

Totes are my favorite style of bags since I carry so much with me and especially when I go to meetings, I can actually cram my laptop into it if I don't want to bring my work bag.  I have my eye on this quilted tote, isn't it cute?  I love the color.  I also use this Marc by Marc Jacobs Tote when I travel.  It is huge though so I look kind of ridiculous holding it as it's about as big as I am but I like that it fits everything and it's easy to get things out of which is essential for airport traveling when you are always taking things in and out of your bag.

OPI You Dont Know Jacques | China Glaze Grape Pop

I could not find one good stock picture of You Don't Know Jacques.  It looks either brown or green in the pictures but it really is a beautiful dark gray color.  I really love this color for the fall.  I alternated each nail with the purple polish which made for a fun combo.  Who says you have to paint all your nails the same color right? :)

Wendy Brandes Diana Ring
One of my favorite rings!  I love that it's a big ring but it's not super flashy.
Merlin Indicolite Ring
But then I wore it with this big flashy ring but I liked the pairing as they kinda just went together for this outfit.

Style-ish Fall Buys!

I love fall fashion so much and have been happily buying some great fall pieces.  Here are some of my recent purchases and since some of them are on sale, I wanted to share before they sold out as sometimes it takes awhile for my newly purchased stuff to make it into a lookbook.

First, my two recent boot purchases that I'm SO excited about.
Roberto del Carlo Over the Knee Boot
I got these in brown and I am in love.  They are the perfect height and the over the knee length is perfect even for my shorty legs!
These are my "holy grail" boots.  I have looked for a great platform knee-high boot with a perfect heel (not too thin, not too thick) for ages but have never found anything as perfect as these.  I got them in black (sold out online) and they are to. die. for.  They are much prettier in person, that picture doesn't do them justice at all!
Here's a sneak preview of them on.  I am wearing thigh high socks with them so they don't really go that high!  (Please excuse the mess, eek!  That's why I don't usually take pictures in this area)

Just a handful of the Madewell purchases that I made this past weekend...
Such a pretty girly blouse and will be perfect for work but also way cute paired with jeans too!

Madewell Triple Tiered Tank -on sale!
Paired with a blazer and a long necklace, this tank is adorable and a great fall layering piece.

Madewell Corded Stretch Tank -now $29.99!
The embellishments make this top really fun and a perfect way to add sparkle to your outfit.

And my latest beauty tool that I HAVE to share.
Tanda Clear Acne Light Therapy Treatment

Thank you so much to Gabby from Tractentenberg and Co. for sending me this acne treatment tool after I mentioned my problem skin.  My skin has been breaking out so much lately, mainly I think due to stress and travel.  I was desperate for something to not only take care of my current blemishes but also prevent more breakouts.  The Tanda is a light treatment tool that all you do is just hold the tool up to your problem areas for 3 minutes and a blue light will come on and basically treat it!  I'm sure there are more technical terms to it but that's just how I think of it working!  For a better explanation, here's what the description says:
"The device's Blue Light LED produces a targeted 414 nm beam that kills acne-causing P.acnes bacteria, helping to eliminate current imperfections, keep future breakouts at bay, and improve skin texture, color, and tone."

I've used it for a week now and I am super impressed.  I had one giant blemish come in and I used the Tanda that night and by day two it was smaller and by day 3 it was basically gone.  I've never gotten results like that with anything before and I've tried a lot of products and tools.  The Tanda also has a separate anti-aging interchangeable head that I have ordered with the Sephora Friends and Family.  I can't wait to get it and see how it works on my fine lines and wrinkles!

Have you bought anything lately that you are excited about?  I would love to know!  If you write a post about it, let me know and I'll link to it here!

p.s.  I had a few of you ask about the nail colors in my purple ombre manicure.  Sorry for the delay, I finally looked up the colors.
China Glaze Flying Dragon | China Glaze Grape Pop | OPI Do You Lilac It | China Glaze Matte Magic

**The Tanda was sent to me as a gift, please see my disclosure on gifts from companies**

Lookbook: Fall is here!

Helloooo!!  Did you guys have a good weekend?  I did!  I went on a shopping spree at Madewell and hubs took me to see She & Him.  I must say that Zoey Deschanel is even cuter than you can imagine.  Amazing voice too, I think she sounded better live than on the CD!
Don't you love this dress she's wearing? photo from laceandflora

I may have posted this video before but I adore the song and her voice.

Anyway, it's been non-stop rain for the past few days and I finally have a true fall outfit to blog about.  (Although I took this picture in September - not this past weekend.)  I was going crazy trying to find boots prior to fall and I ended up buying a pair of Miu Miu over the knee boots (these ones) that I thought I loved but in the end, decided that they weren't right for me so returned them.  I consider boots to be an investment since you can barely get a pair of designer boots for less than $1K and you should get use out of them for several years.  I actually own a very similar pair to these Jimmy Choo boots that I bought about 4 years ago that still look fantastic. You just can't say the same about cheaper quality boots where I get use out of them for only one or two seasons.  So anyway, I just didn't want to spend that kind of money on something that I just wasn't sure about.  However, I did need boots for a business trip (I was going to a much colder climate) and was running out of time so I just decided to buy a pair to tide me over until I found THE ones.  These boots aren't going to last until next year but they are cute and comfy so I think I'll be getting a lot of wears from them this winter.

What I'm Wearing
Top: Patterson J. Kincaid
Jeans: Rag & Bone
Boots: Madden Girl
Rings: YSL Arty ring and Ariella Collection

Flowy top, skinnies and boots make for the easiest fall outfits!

Patterson J. Kincaid 'Egyptian' Blouse
I am loving these lightweight flowy tunics.  Patterson J. Kincaid always makes great oversize tunics.  This tunic is similar or I love this one too.

Rag & Bone 'RBW8' Straight Leg Stretch Jeans - on sale for 60% off!
When Rag & Bone jeans go on sale, you have to get them!  I love their jeans.

When pairing jeans with boots I always go for the skinniest of the skinny jeans.  If you don't want to splurge, you can always get these jeans for $9.50!
Madden Girl Zeda Over The Knee Boot
I'm loving the color and style of these lace back boots, they'd be perfect with jeans and a cute plaid shirt!
Ariella Collection Pave Ring
I love this ring!  I'm really into rose gold lately so I've bought several rose gold pieces.  I also got this pretty ring from Nordstrom.  And a reminder to use your ebates to get 3% cashback when you order online from Nordstrom!

Friends and Family at Sephora!

It's that shopping time of the year where all the discounts come out to play and we do our best to resist them!  I continually lose that game so when Sephora's friends and family came around I didn't even try to resist, I just popped right on over and added way too many things in my cart and now am anxiously awaiting their arrival!

Use code FF2010 to save 20% off your order, expires November 3rd.  And don't forget to use your ebates to save an additional 4%!

And because I've had a few of you inquire about my makeup essentials, here's what I always use and restock on, especially during Friends and Family time!

1. Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation w/Brush -for some reason this is only sold at QVC which is where I got it from.  Great consistency and coverage and the brush is nice too.
2. Tarte Dark Circle Defense Natural Under Eye Corrector -the easiest way to brighten up a tired face is under eye concealer.
3. Bare Escentuals Flawless Application Face Brush
4. Bare Escentuals bareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation -I've used this powder foundation for years and I'm still not sick of it.
5. Yves Saint Laurent TOUCHE ECLAT -I also put this under my eyes and to add a bit of contour to my lips.  Love this!

1. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil -I like to use these colored pencils on my bottom lash line, it gives a fun but subtle touch to your eyes without the heavy look of a alot of eyeshadow.
2. Stila Smoky Eye Talking Palette -I am always a fan of palettes like this.  So easy to do your makeup without trying to figure out what colors to use together.
3. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion -I'm sure everyone and their mom uses this.  If you don't, you have to start!  Keeps my eye makeup on all day long.
4. Tarte Cheek Stain Flush -The best long lasting blush for people like me - when I apply just powder blush, it comes off in an hour!
5. Smashbox Limitless Long Wear Lip Gloss -Not too sticky and I've never found a color I didn't like.
6. Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner -Black liner is the worse when it smears all over your eyelid.  Gel liners completely solve that problem and stay only on your lash line!

I didn't get ALL of that, just a few that I was running out of but I also added this lipstick (in Rose Stiletto) and Ojon Hair Treatment as my hair has been a bit dry and hoping that this will give some shine back to it!

So do spill, what did you guys get? :)  I've been looking for other hair treatments/hair masks to help out my dry hair, any recommendations?

Lookbook: Heels and Paws

Hi Hi!  We just got back from a week in Aruba and I'm a bit more relaxed and a lot more tan!  I forgot to turn on my vacation auto responder, apologies to those of you that sent me an email, I'll get back to you this week!  Anyway, since I was gone I thought I'd take advantage of some lookbooks that I never got a chance to post so the ones that I just posted were from end of summer/beginning of September.  I got lots of questions/comments about the weather in Seattle seeing as how I was dressed in my recent lookbooks, so yes I was decieving you all (on accident!) Seattle is not that warm right now!  :)

Here's a look that's a bit closer to the weather we are having now...

What I'm Wearing
Blazer: Eryn Brinie
Top: from Aritzia
Jeans: Uniqlo
Shoes: Christian Louboutin "Alti" pumps

my two favorite things... Louboutins and my dachshund babies!

Rails Ella Striped Shirt in Navy/White

Loving striped shirts lately, like this tunic from Shopbop or this top.  And don't forget to use ebates to save 6% on your shopbop order!  Adore this ruffle-y sleeve Juicy Couture top too!  So cute and on sale for $29.  Might have to order it!

Mine are regular length that I rolled up but these crop jeans are adorable and on sale for 50% off!  (and 8% cashback at ebates!)

Eryn Brinie Mandarin Blazer
I'm sure I've mentioned this before but I love this blazer.  Eryn Brinie makes really great pieces.  I can't believe the price of this one!  It's 80% off - only $35!

And another one for 70% off!  I'm really loving this tweed blazer too.

Christian Louboutin Rolando Hidden-Platform Pump
My pumps are discontinued but these are pretty similar.

Or these are a great look for less.  If you are looking for a designer shoe that isn't as expensive as Louboutins these Stuart Weitzman pumps are fabulous (and 3% cashback!)

Lookbook: Maxi-mum

An easy outfit for the end of summer.  It is virtually impossible to find a maxi that I do not have to get shortened and who would've thought that Target would've had it!  When I passed by this pretty ombre dress, I had to see if it would fit and I was more than surprised to find that the length was just right!  I ended up buying it in pink too because finding a maxi that fits just right is like finding jeans that fits just right.  It just doesn't happen often!

What I'm Wearing
Dress: from Target
Bandeau: Forever 21
Sandals: Franco Sarto
target_maxi_dress2target_maxi_dress
The problem with strapless dresses is that I always end up pulling them up all day long.  I added the bandeau to add additional coverage as well as helping with the slippage problem.  Problem solved and the added pop of color was a bonus!

Shop the Lookbook
Xhilaration Juniors Smocked Back Maxi Dress
I got mine last summer but check out this one for only $8!

This one looks really short on the model so may be ankle length for shorties like me!

Loving the print of this one!

I have a whole collection of bandeau bras to wear under strapless dresses.  As long as you're not planning on running they provide great support too!
Annette Swappers Reversible Bandeau Bra
I like to get different colors to add an accent to what I'm wearing.  This one is even reversible so you get two colors in one.

 Hanky Panky Lace Bandeau
I have a few lace ones that I like to wear underneath tops that are too low cut.  It's so much better than worrying about flashing someone!

Newport News
or you could go for one that's more like a real bra and probably provides a bit better support than those fashion-y ones above.
Sam Edelman 'Gigi' Sandal
I think maxi dresses look best when worn with flats.  Wedges can work as well but I'm not a big fan of wedges so I go for the flat sandals.  I really like these ones that are very simple but comfortable.  I shoot a lot of destination weddings wearing sandals similar to these!
