Lookbook: Summer to Winter dress

Another sweater over dress combo (see my last one here).  I also wore this dress during the summer.  I love taking my, what would be a summer dress and try to winterize it.  It makes having cute summer dresses worth it considering Seattle gets way more cold days than warm!  Do you know how much I love cashmere sweaters?  I want to wear them all day long and never take them off.  This one in particular I adore because it’s a longer length, I actually folded it under for this look as it was a bit too long but with leggings or skinnies, it’s the perfect sweater.  I can’t decide if I like the shoulder pads in there (they are removable) but I went with it for this outfit.  What do you think?  Bold shoulders or no?

What I’m Wearing
Sweater: from Aritzia
Dress: Forever 21
Tights: DKNY
Shoes: Miu Miu
Necklace: J Crew

It was so cold that day you could see my breath!  And I had to prove it to you! 🙂

C&C California Cashmere Scoop Sweater
Doesn’t this sweater look super comfy?  Really great price for this cashmere sweater at Nordstrom and love that it comes in so many colors.  Or this one from Neiman Marcus looks like mine, without the puffy shoulders.

Forever 21 Floral Dress
Totally a cute summer dress that you could do the same thing with.  Would look really cute with purple or gray tights!  Lots of cute floral dresses at Forever 21 right now, like this ruffled one!  Or you could just do a cute skirt like this little peplum skirt.  I love the bright colors.

Christian Louboutin Relika
Love the super tall mary janes.  The ones with a platform in front like this are so much easier to walk in however my Miu Mius are still fairly comfortable.  I just saw these super tall mary janes that I am really liking (I think I’d get the black/eggplant combo).  You know how I feel about cheap shoes (not for me and my picky feet) but these floral mary janes are TOO CUTE!

J.Crew Factory linked chain and pearl necklace
A little bling is good for any outfit 🙂  I love adding my big blingy necklace to dress up a plain sweater.

Wow that's pretty cold! But at least it's sunny. I am wearing a very similar sweater today paired with a high-waisted maxi skirt.

Absolutely yes to bold shoulders! This is such an adorable outfit. It's way too cold in my part of the country to step out of the door without a peacoat on, so I envy your nice weather!

@Christina yes, funny enough as much as I love the sun, it means the temps drop that much more! But I'll take that over snow any day.

Your outfit sounds adorable. I think I need a high waisted maxi skirt!

I think you have a small enough frame to pull of the shoulder pads, I can't say the same for me though as it makes it seem I am ready for Football season! 🙁 So, wear'em like nobody's business! 🙂

Great styling, love the way you made it so wintery! Cashmere sweaters and cardis are the best, once they are on I feel like I've been hugged all day! … Drooling over your shoes, but nothing new there!

Hmm I'm actually not a fan of the shoulder pads, as the rest of the outfit is so sweet and cute and perfect, the shoulder pads throw me off as a "hey, omg my shoulders are edgy but the rest is not" kind of feel, if that makes sense.

Btw, I'm having a giveaway on my blog to win $50 from makeup & skin care retailer Apothica!
