I often get asked about how I organize things from my makeup to nail polish to shoes to jewelry and to tell you the truth, I wish I had better answers but I just do my best to try to keep thing organized and even though it might not be the best way, it somehow works for me so I just do that until I happen upon a better a way. I do admit that I like to see how others store their make up and nail polish, not only to get some new ideas but to get a glimpse of their collection! :) So, here is a short little video showing you my nail polish organization and how I try to keep track of all those little polish bottles.
West Elm is sold out of the shoe drawer that I use but here is a similar shoe drawer. And click here for the acrylic box that holds my Zoya nail polishes.
The Zoya colors I showed you in the video are Gilda (I'm wearing that color on my nails) and Karina. Also, the nail polish remover is the Sally Hansen Kwik Off which is awesome because you just dip your finger in there and just let the nail polish sponge take the polish off without having to deal with cotton balls. Also, you know those times when you only have one nail that has major chips and you just want to repaint that one nail? Well, this is perfect for those times because you can just take the nail polish off that one finger without having your other nails bothered.
The ring I'm wearing is the Erica Anenberg Double Finger Ring.

p.s. If you are wondering what those little green guys next to my drawers are, they are the little pears that I crocheted awhile ago! I still love looking at them, they always make me smile. See here for more pictures of the pears and here for all the other little characters that I crocheted.

ReplyDeleteI found a cute mini-sized cheapo plastic caddy with a handle at the grocery store once for like $2 and it is the perfect size for storing my favorites plus my manicure tools. The handle makes it easy to tote around the house to wherever I feel like doing my nails.
Wow you have an awesome collection of nail polishes. I store my polishes like you do lol. Except that I got mines at Target and its purple which I love. Your lil pears are so darn cute and I love your ring<3. Thanks for showing us your video!

@elizabethashleyphoto It really is essential to find something that you can carry around because I totally do my nail polishes all over the house and always bring the box with me because I need all my tools and nail color options in case I change my mind last minute.

ReplyDelete@kimmie When I had just a few polishes, it was easy just to keep them in a little box and then it just kept on expanding and then I needed to find a better solution. You'll find the same as once you get into buying polishes, you'll keep on wanting the newest/latest colors!

your little pears are adorable! i keep all my nail polishes inside my refrigerator in the door. this way, it keeps the polish from thickening up and makes it easier to apply
ReplyDeleteYou totally turned me onto ZOYA, thank you! I have 6 so far and they are lined on a tiny shelf in my bathroom (it's an old medicine cabinet that was modified) and so there is no door. I can see them everytime I go in there and it makes me smile!

ReplyDeleteNice! I currently use shoe boxes also, but the kind with tops on them from Container Store. I like the drawer idea, but I also just need a better place to put my ever-growing collection of polishes (up to about 60 at the moment...).
ReplyDeleteGreat organization! It took me awhile to get a good nail polish system, but an acrylic organizer in one of my bathroom drawers has been the best way. You have to be able to see all your colors!

I was just telling my bf I wanted to get something to organize my nail polishes... they currently are overflowing a little plastic basket container I have and I wanted something with drawers. I was at Fred Meyer and saw cute little drawers, but they were too little and couldn't stand a bottle in them, but this shoe drawer idea looks perfect!
