Lookbook: Big Bun

Hey guys!  So obviously everyone knows about the devastation in Japan and I can not tear myself away from the news, it is just so heartbreaking seeing everything that is going on over there.  I know that everyone is doing what they can do help with donations and such and I just wanted to point you to this page that lists many places that you can donate to (found via designsponge) as well as one of my favorite youtubers manwomanfilm put together a video and links to many of the charities that you can donate to as well.  And also, a special note about Worldvets.org which is one of the few rescue reliefs that I have found that is geared towards saving the animals affected in Japan.

How was your weekend?  It poured buckets here so we just stayed in most of the weekend but it did inspire me to do a lot of cooking and baking which I really enjoy doing, I just usually don’t have the time (and sometimes energy) for it.  This lookbook was from a few weeks ago but as you can tell from the ground, it rained a ton that day too, except it actually stopped for a bit so I could take these pictures.  You’ll see two things in this lookbook that are pretty rare for me, putting my hair all the way up and wearing flare jeans!  What can I say?  I like to change things up 🙂  It’s not easy wearing my hair all on the top of my head like this because I have such thick hair (and it was so long that there was just SO much of it) so my head feels super heavy if I leave it like that for long periods of time.  I  piled it on a bit messy on purpose because I just wanted it out of my face that day.  Do you have those days where your hair just bugs you because it’s all up in your face?  I was having one of those days.  When I was at Madewell last, I was trying on a bunch of jeans since they make my favorite skinnies and I figured since non-skinny jeans are making a comeback I might as well give them another chance.  These flares fit the best out of all flare/wide leg jeans I’ve ever tried on because I typically can not pull off these kinds of jeans. I’ll never give up my skinnies but am definitely up for mixing things up once in awhile.

What I’m Wearing
Top: Yumi Kim
Jeans: Madewell
Booties: Miu Miu
Jewelry: J Crew (bangles) and Vintage (turquoise)

Oh! One last thing, Ebates is offering 20% cashback for GAP!  Yes, 20%!  It’s only for the next 3 days so get to shopping! 🙂  My picks are the really skinny pants – my favorite pants for work, the ruffle zip dress (on sale!), the Ombre plaid dress – so cute for the summer! And the Chambray tie neck blouse is really cute.  If you sign up through my referral link you and I will get $5 after your first purchase over $25!  If you don’t know what ebates is, click here for more info and tips on how to use ebates while shopping.

Yumi Kim “Flying Flowers” Silk Print Peasant Top

You know how much I love Yumi Kim. I own so many of her tops and dresses. The prints are always so much fun!  This top is cute and on sale and love the polka dots on this top.

I can’t find mine online anymore but loving the look of the Rocker Jeans.  Might have to go to the store and try them on.  These widelegger jeans are fabulous but I think would only work for people with long legs.  The wide leg trouser jeans from GAP are so cute and are a good “dressy” jean.

These in purple would also be cute. Or I love the color of these Miu Miu booties.

Rebecca Minkoff MAC Clutch

The Tory Burch Reva Clutch looks like a great size and love the color. Oooh but I really love the color of the Kate Spade Gold Coast clutch.  So pretty!
My vintage turquoise bracelet is my favorite antiquing find ever.  Antique shopping is so hit and miss, more often than not you come home empty handed (at least I do) but when you find that one perfect thing it’s like you hit gold!  I found this bracelet at a antique shop that I wasn’t expecting to find much at all but my little eyes spotted it in the case and it was one of those “I HAVE to have that” moments.  It had a little card with some info on it but I forgot what it said except for that it was from the 1950’s which I think is neat when you can find out a little bit of the history of the things that you buy.

Thank you for providing that link to donate toward the animal suffering in Japan. I was looking for one to donate to. I know there's obvious need of aid for Japan's people, but the animals are loved pets that need help too. I have donated toward both!

    Love the outfit!

I adore your hair style! It's makes me wish Spring would come faster.

I went to Lens Crafters over the weekend, and I learned that Nordstrom Rack will be moving into the basement level of Westlake Center!

I'm not sure when exactly, but Lens Crafters will be closing down in 2 months in that location. ^_^
