Is it Spring yet?

Bringing a little spring to me since Seattle weather doesn't seem to be having any of it.  I've been redecorating our place lately and ever since Valentine's day when hubs brought me home fresh flowers, I've discovered that it truly brightens up the place and my mood when I have fresh flowers around.  I've been buying them weekly and it really "livens" up the rooms and brings in just a little bit of sunshine.  Just thought I'd share a few of the bouquets that we've brought home.  I adore flowers but I hate that they don't last very long.  Any tricks you guys have that help them live a little bit longer?  I'm so excited for it to be a bit warmer so hubs and I can take our weekly trips to the farmers market to stock up on the flowers there!  It's my favorite part of the week to shop at the farmers markets and Seattle is so abundant with them that I go to a different one each week.  And if you want to know the truth, I stay as far away as I can from Pike Place market in the summers because the tourists drive me crazy.  When you are there on a mission, it gets frustrating dealing with the tourists stopping and pointing and snapping pictures every 3 seconds.  I've had to do some serious pushing before just to get through a small section of the market!  So I stay away and just hit the local farmers markets.  They may not be as big, but the produce and flowers are just as good.  But if you are visiting Seattle, I do recommend you visit Pike Place just for the experience

The coral color of the flowers just pulled me in so I had to get the Gerbera daisies and the mini roses were just too cute not to get.  Plus mini roses are a sentimental thing between J and I so whenever I see them they just remind me of when we first started dating.

 

I'm trying to find some decor for our place that will brighten the place up a little.  When we first got our place we went for dark wood and a more muted decor and now I'm over it and would love to add color to it.  Here are some things I have my eye on, I just need to figure out how to incorporate it all.

5. Anthropologie Orimono Shade

I am kind of boring and only shop for decor at pretty standard places, West Elm, CB2 and Brocade Home are amongst my favorites.  We go to a few stores like Velocity Art & Design and other local stores but I know that there are probably online retailers that I am missing out on.  Would love to discover new home decor places, any suggestions, recommendations?  We also love Design Within Reach and Ligne Roset, however we couldn't afford to buy it so we just go in there and pet all the pretty furniture!
