The coral color of the flowers just pulled me in so I had to get the Gerbera daisies and the mini roses were just too cute not to get. Plus mini roses are a sentimental thing between J and I so whenever I see them they just remind me of when we first started dating.

Love that lampshade! I saw it online and didn't really think anything about it but saw it in store the other day and fell.in.love!
ReplyDeletehave your cake & eat it too
There's nothing that can beat fresh flowers! the smell the colours, the brightness...its true they don't last very long!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers-- i hate spending money on something so fleeting but once I realized how irreplaceable the energy/beauty/brightness of them, I've been buying every week too. I hear aspirin in the water helps extend life time-- and trimming the stems every couple of days-- and cool water [vs. hot, war].
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you! Flowers always brighten up my place too... I just wish they weren't so expensive! So, to replace flowers (although it doesn't replace the smell), I bought some lime green pillows for my couch.
ReplyDeleteLove the pieces you chose!

I will be in Seattle the first week of July and yep...I'm going to go to Pike Place :D hehehehe... It will be my first time to Seattle (so it's a MUST) I will be on route to Portland for a wedding but my friend lives there so I'll be spending 4th of July there. Any recommendations? Also, I like to buy things off from Horchow, Pier 1, www.ballarddesigns.com, www.zgallerie.com... I'll see if I can think of more. I think I know what my next post will be about! :D ha!

I totally agree! Fresh flowers are the best!
ReplyDeleteIf you are looking for a longer lasting flower, I adore Alstroemeria/Peruvian lilies. They are beautiful and last up to two weeks if you re-snip the stems and change the water a few times. A bonus - they are usually super inexpensive and easy to find at the market.
amazing shots you took!!! i am quite boring when it comes to design and such =/
ReplyDeletei am loving the curtain though and the lamp shade, LOOOVE
Beautiful photos...I love how flowers can brighten up and room you put them in. But I am always sad to when they are wilting just days later. I love the west elm bud vases. West elm is my favorite place for furniture and anthropologie is my favorite for smaller decorative accessories.

Wonderful flowers! I also love flowers and it brings a big smile on my face when I have them in my house :)My Mom keeps the beautiful green, yellow and dark pink orchids on windowsill in our dining room, so I can admire them every day :)
ReplyDeleteAnd btw I like these bottle vases from pic. number 3 and 4:)
ReplyDeleteAwe...purrrty!!! I love fresh flowers:)

Fresh flowers add such a great pop this time of year!
ReplyDeleteThere is something about bringing nature indoors that makes me so happy. Gerbera daisies are my absolute favorites. I think you have inspired me to buy some to brighten up my place. :)
ReplyDeleteI love fresh flowers, but it does drive me crazy when I spend money and they only last for a couple days. I have found the best trick though, and the flowers last at least twice as long, if not longer. If you put a penny or two in the bottom of the vase, it keeps the flowers bright and perky for a longer time. I don't know why, but I do know it works!
ReplyDeleteoh and here i was telling you how much i love the flowers at pike market in the summer *tourist waving* haha. i must say that the thing i remember the most about seattle during my last visit is its abundance of fresh and CHEAP flowers. i can't believe the price! beautiful photos, Tiffany!
ReplyDeletePretty flowers! I agree and always buy flowers once a week. I'm loving tulips right now! And ahhh I miss the farmer's market in seattle. When I worked on 2nd I would go there all the time! Loving your blog! xo
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those west elm bottles! thanks of sharing! I think Im going to rush on over to buy a few now!
ReplyDeletetiffany you're so talented!! i love your flower shots!
ReplyDeletei love those pretty bottles you picked out!
ps. i'm coming to seattle in the beginning of june!!!! the hubs and i are flying in.. and we're meeting a few other friends who are also flying into seattle for our yearly group trip.. but they're all flying in later that night so i thought i would fly in the morning and maybe we could meet up for a quick bite and some shopping at nordstroms hahahaha.. i think i'm staying at the westin.. which is like right inbetween top pot doughnuts place you recommended and nordie's :)
Beautiful pics as always. Trader Joe's (don't know if there in Seattle) always has great flowers at very cheap prices.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, love the colours you chose for the flowers. They really DO brighten up the house and your day! :)
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Seattle but will visit Pike Place if I do - thnx for the recommendation (despite not enjoying it much yourself ;).
My fave shot is the one of the single gerber - wow.

Great pics! I have been feeling the need for color and fun lately. I am going to buy a hot pink nail polish this week to feel like spring (I put on light purple but I need something brighter).
ReplyDeleteYou should try abchome.com and abccarpet.com
Behind uvillage there are two home stores Gracious Home and Blooming Home. They are both on Blakely and I know at least one is consignment. I haven't been to either but I have been meaning to check them out so call me this week if you want to go.
The best trick I've got is to snip the bottom 1/2" off the stem and immediately put them in hot water for 30 seconds or so. Transfer them to the vase and (for me) they stay fresh an extra day or more. Also, a little bit of bleach added to the vase works.
ReplyDeleteAwww! I love your flower photos! I just bought myself some mini pink roses. I'm in looove with mini roses. They are just so special :)
ReplyDeleteI adore flowers as well! They definitely refresh any room you put them in. I am in love with peonies but they are not as easy to find here in AZ. But the daisies you got are just delightful. Have a great day!
