Cardigan: Madewell
Bag: Chanel “Ultimate Stitch”
It’s been awhile since I did an office look and now since I rarely go into an office (and even when I do, I travel for work so I don’t have anyone there to take a picture.) I just don’t really pull together office looks anymore. In fact, I got rid of most of my “office” clothes and now just wear whatever I have in my closet to make it office appropriate. The top I’m wearing here is actually a tunic that looks really cute with skinny jeans or leggings but tucked into the high waisted skirt you’d never know. I decided to add a bit more fun to the “boring” office look with a bit of bling. I don’t shop ebay much but one day out of frustration from not being able to find what I wanted to find on my usual online shopping stops, I went to ebay and started typing in random searches. When I typed in “Rhinestone bangle” I came across this insanely cute bow bangle/cuff and just had to bid on it. I’m like a 5 year old, bows and sparkles will always get to me!
I never thought I’d get so much use out of a silver cardigan but the metallic is fun to add to outfits. The Vince Shimmering Knit Shrug is gorgeous as well or the Amber Sun Ruffle Trim Cardigan is a bit more toned down in the metallic but love the ruffles.
Forever21 Relaxed Chambray Tunic
Love this tunic! The color is fab as is the price. The Merona Women’s Pintucked Tuni has cute detailing and would be cute with the metallic cardi or Armani Exchange Chambray Tie Tunic is perfect if you’re looking for a sleeveless version as sometimes it’s annoying when you’re sleeves get all bunched up when you wear a cardigan over it.
Three Dots Cotton Stretch High Waisted Skirt
The perfect basic high waist skirt and sale for $43! I do like this pinstripe skirt for a little bit of a texture in the skirt and would look really great with the chambray tops and the ASOS Belted High Waist Mini Skirt is so fun!
Jimmy Choo Lilac patent-leather pumps
I tend to favor round toe pumps now but I used to only buy pointy toe pumps so I have a ton that I don’t wear as much now. The Enzo Angiolini Kylin Pump are a similar shape and are on sale for $70. I’m not a huge fan of the super cheap shoes as my picky feet can’t handle the plastic they use but these Forever21 Perfect Patent Pump are actually really cute and you can’t beat that price!
Merlin Indicolite Ring
I love Swarovski jewelry. They are all super sparkly and you know I love my sparkles! I love going in the swarovski store and trying on all their fun jewelry. Especially loving the stackable Nuts Ring or the Helios Rosaline Moonlight Ring. Such a pretty pink!

April 25, 2011 at 2:04 pmGreat outfit! I often struggle when putting together work appropriate outfits out of the clothes that I have. I find buying standard work-ish things to be a bit depressing for my inner free spirit so it's good to have some tips on how to "business up" my basics.
And also, you can never have too much sparkle. Or too many bows. Or too many rhinestones.

April 25, 2011 at 9:53 pmAwesome look! You know, after seeing you in Rag & Bone jeans, I'm interested in giving them a try. I spotted a couple pairs on their website and wanted to find out what their sizing is like. Do you think they are true to size? I wear a 26 in J Brand. These ones I am looking at are non returnable that's why I have to be sure first. Perhaps I should try them out at Nordstrom first. Yikes, I hate bringing my baby there as she is just not a good shopper. ;(

April 25, 2011 at 10:00 pmTiffany- what a stylish and creative office look. I love the high waist skirt and the extra bling that you brought into that outfit. And that Chanel bag… Keeping my fingers crossed for mothers Fay! Hehe. Thanks for the post!

April 26, 2011 at 12:12 am@Twenty.Something Thanks! It is a fun necklace and I love to wear it but it's so heavy that I can only wear it a few hours at a time.

April 26, 2011 at 12:14 am@Brittany – Try It On Me Even though I don't have to wear work outfits, I do like to experiment and see what I can put together 🙂 Sometimes I like dressing like I'm going into the office even when I'm not. I think it helps put me in the "work" mindset which can be hard when you work from home.

April 26, 2011 at 12:14 am@kileen hehehe, I knew you'd love it too!

April 26, 2011 at 12:15 am@Sartorial Nerd I never really loved the traditional work attire that they have for women so working with your own wardrobe is always so much better and puts your personality into your outfit.
Agreed with your last statement 🙂

April 26, 2011 at 12:17 am@CessOviedo the bow cuff needed to come out and play and that was the best way to show it off! 🙂

April 26, 2011 at 12:20 am@Missy I know right? It just takes a bit of patience to shop through ebay but there are some gems to be found!

April 26, 2011 at 12:21 am@JENNY thanks Jenny! That necklace may be one of my best buys at J Crew. I love their jewelry.

April 26, 2011 at 12:22 am@alison*elle I keep on forgetting about this cardigan too but every time I do remember and pull it out I think "I need to wear this more often!" I need to keep it front in center but it always seems to get lost in my sea of cardigans so if I can't see it, I totally forget about it.
iamstylish
April 26, 2011 at 12:23 am@DiamondsandTulle I know! Now I keep on shopping ebay to look for fun jewelry.
iamstylish
April 26, 2011 at 12:26 am@jennifer ooh you will love them!! They run true to size. I've never gone up or down with their sizing. I actually don't own any J Brand jeans so not sure how they compare but I'm a pretty solid 25 in almost everything and the Rag & Bone 25's fit perfectly.
Maybe you can order them from Nordstrom since Nordstrom has a good return policy and then try them on at home and then return them later? It might be a good solution if you don't actually want to go to the store.

April 26, 2011 at 12:26 am@Make Mommy Chic thanks! the high waist skirt is so good for the slimming effect.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too! haha!

April 26, 2011 at 12:27 am@Sunshine I think a lot of people are afraid of adding too much bling to their work outfits but I think it adds so much personality! Plus, a little jewelry never offended anybody I know! 🙂

April 26, 2011 at 4:36 amVery nice! This outfit is totally office-ready. I like how you have a very defined waist, which balances out the loose cardigan. I always have trouble with that.

April 27, 2011 at 7:05 amThis is a great example of how to make office wear interesting! I would totally wear this to work, though if I worked in somewhere super conservative, I might leave off the ring and bangle.
