My first lookbook with my short hair since so many of you have been asking to see it but I still have a few left with my old hair that I will sneak in. This is actually the day after I got my haircut so it was still “fresh” to me and wasn’t yet sure how to style it. As you saw in my last week in photos post, I’ve been styling it different ways and have gotten better at it. I’m definitely not loving it here but that’s how it goes when you go for a hair cut right? It just doesn’t want to behave for the first week or so!
This blazer has been getting a lot of play lately (as you can see, I wore it in my beachy waves video post too but with a different top). I’ve been loving mixing the stripes with other patterns and the colors in this top were the perfect pairing. When I first got the blazer I was having a hard time pairing it with tops but now I realize that you can go totally un-matchy with the prints and it still works!
Not sure about the quality, but this one is really similar and on sale for $29.99! Also love the Elizabeth and James striped blazer.
T by Alexander Wang Ponte Exposed Zip Skirt – on sale
and here in more sizes but not on sale.
Hubs bought me this skirt! I love when he buys me clothes because it’s always stuff that I would never have spotted myself but it always looks good. He has good taste 🙂 Love the skirt, it’s very stretchy and of course, great quality. Adore the T by Alexander Wang line, I own many pieces but they rarely make an appearance on the blog because I usually just wear them to lounge around the house!
Check out the multifold skirt. Isn’t it so pretty? I’m totally getting the Paneled Miniskirt next.
Blue tights are totally hard to pull off, but I tried. Probably not going to try again until next year. It’s like a once a year thing to pull out the blue tights just to see what I can do with them.
I wasn’t a green polish person until this color came along.
OPI You Dont Know Jacques
The perfect gray polish. I have so many gray polishes but when it comes down to it, I always go for this one!

April 4, 2011 at 4:26 pmYour shorter hair is so pretty — I love the texture to it! I really like your outfit too — the striped blazer is an awesome piece. I bet it'd be a nice neutral to a bright, solid-colored dress too 🙂

April 4, 2011 at 5:17 pmWhat are you talking about, your hair looks FAB here. It frames your face so nicely.
The blazer/top combo is pretty genius. I'm never sure what to pair stripes with and you've done a great job here. It's bold without being garish which isn't easy.
You have such a great eye for color. Love your style!

April 4, 2011 at 6:23 pmyou must have been very attached to your long hair. b/c I feel this length isn't even short. it's just mid-length. looks like you just got a trim. though i'm a big fan of long hair, it's sometimes expected and typical, esp for asian women. short hair makes you look fresh & young.

April 4, 2011 at 8:25 pmi HEART your hair shorter!! i'm serious.. it really frames your face well and i love that it looks like it has a lot of movement and bounce so pretty on you!!
i just love how you style your clothes.. so different patterns and textures but everything looks so seamlessly put together!!

April 4, 2011 at 9:09 pmTiffany, your hair is gorgeous! I have chopped off my hair in the past too, and let me tell you, it looked nothing like this. You really know how to style it well. I'm still learning how to use a curling iron…I will have to watch your videos over and over again haha.
If you have time, please stop by my page to say hi. Thank you 🙂

April 4, 2011 at 10:14 pmYou look super cute here! The mix of patterns is perfect and you shouldn't be afraid to wear those blue tights more, colored tights are so unique!

April 4, 2011 at 10:42 pmahhh i love the shorter hair, you look great! and i love how you mixed the striped blazer with the printed blouse, beautiful!
btw, my hello anthropologie blazer was ruined at the cleaners after the black stripes bled into the white 🙁 the dry cleaner insisted it was a defect in the dye, and after reading about this happening to someone else i tend to think this is true. thankfully, anthro took it back and refunded my money. but i would be extra careful when taking it to the cleaners.

April 5, 2011 at 12:01 am@Sidewalk Chic oh yes, I've been wearing it with lots of solids but thought I'd mix things up with some different patterns!

April 5, 2011 at 12:02 am@Stephanie this texture is definitely the best way to go with my hair because stick straight at this point does not look good on me. Do give it a try and let me know how it goes!

April 5, 2011 at 12:05 am@kileen blue tights are hard to put together in an outfit. I don't know what I was thinking when I bought them but I like to experiment and see if I can make them work!

April 5, 2011 at 12:21 am@Sartorial Nerd Thanks! I was over thinking the stripes before because I thought it was too bold so I had to tone down everything but turns out the pattern on pattern works really well with it!
@Katie Yes, it's fun to mix and match!
@Marie @ Lemondrop Vintage Thanks! Yes it is one of my favorite blazers.
@AubreyOhDang! I was attached to my long hair and admittedly still am. And I'm not comparing my hair to others for it to be called short. I just meant short for me. If I went any shorter, I'd look terrible. I cut 5+ inches off. I don't know what kind of trims you get but 5+ inches was not a trim.
I agree that long hair is expected but it just depends on how you style it. If you take the time to style it, it can be unexpected and untypical, so really both ways work but styling it is the most important aspect.

@MizzJ It's true, they look great when they're styled but most of the time when I try to put an outfit together with them, they just look weird. ha!
@Leenathank you for the tip!! I will just try to hand wash it. Sucks that it happened to you but I'm glad that you were able to get your money back.
@AnonymousI LOVE them!! get them! They are perfect classic pumps and go with everything. Price is good for a designer pump too. Thumbs up! 🙂

April 5, 2011 at 12:44 amLove all the colors in this look ( esp. the indigo colored tights!) and the way you mixed stripes with the floral top. I have a striped blazer and I wear that sucker nonstop- I will have to incorporate it with a floral piece now
Grea post!

April 5, 2011 at 3:32 amYAY!! The 'new' hair!
UM, so how amazing do you look?! WOW! I love that you paired this with blue tights – so unexpected and it works fabulously.
I think I'd have a hard time styling the jacket too with primary preconceived notions that it needs to be matchy (those damn preconceived notions…) but what you've done here is PERFECTION. Well done, T. Love it.

April 5, 2011 at 10:48 amOh I just love how the tights match the top and how the blazer pulls everything together. Perfect outfit. And your hair looks gorgeous too. I remember hearing u complained about it on FB a while back being too short and just can't believe it's already this long. Definitely look good on you and make u look years younger.

April 5, 2011 at 1:37 pmI know it takes a while to get used to a new haircut, especially when you shop that much off (I've done it myself) but I think this length looks so chic on you! It brings out your features and frames your face really well!
And that blazer has been on my "to buy" list for months – LOVE.
