Lookbook: Winter Blues

It’s been one of those crazy weeks where I just have too much to do and no time to even think about putting together an outfit and although I took this lookbook back in February, this outfit, a blouse tucked into jeans and a cross body bag has been my go to outfit as of late.

What I’m Wearing

Blouse: Madewell
Jeans: Madewell
Shoes: Christian Louboutin
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff
Necklace: Vintage Dior

New photo layouts!  Aren’t they fun?

We went car shopping on Monday and it was such an ordeal! We ended up walking away because the dealer wouldn’t match what we wanted.  We went back and forth and they came back with new numbers two times and then we just said No.  We come home to a message from them saying “Oh, actually, we worked our numbers and we’re able to come down to your number, blah, blah, blah.” Well too bad buddy, I’m gonna let you sweat it out for a few days before I call you back.  Ugh.  The whole process of getting a new car is such a headache.  You should have seen the look on their faces when we said no and walked away, they were shocked, I truly think they thought they had us.  I’m certainly glad that buying cars is the only thing you have to play these kind of games with in order to buy something.

On another note, if you didn’t know, I’m part of the style team on the Smarter.com blog so I’ve been writing posts over there as well!  Go check out my latest post on the bright jeans trend, my love for accessories and how to wear a maxi dress! Or click here to read all my posts that I’ve written for smarter.com!

Madewell Skydot Matinee Blouse
I’m in love with the pinwheel blouse. I’m going to try to go to Madewell soon to try it on. I’m on a blouse kick and I just ordered a bunch from Modcloth (my first order from them!) including the
Violet Love Top, Purely Pleasant Top, Make an Orna-mental Note Top and a few other things.  I never really like ordering things from a store that I’m not sure about sizing so I hope they work out!

Madewell Vintage Rocker Jeans In Chasm Wash

You know I love my skinny jeans but I’m working the flares a bit more into my wardrobe.  Going to go for these Bell Bottom jeans next! Not sure if I’m ready for that much flare but will see how they look on me.

I really like the new colorblock MAC clutch as well.  I’m not sure I’m ready to commit to a clutch without a strap yet as I can’t imagine holding my bag in my hand all day long but I was at Nordstrom the other day and looked at this Yves Saint Laurent ‘Belle de Jour Clutch which I really liked.  It is perfect for a night out but I’ve had so many friends that go out with clutches and as the night goes on, the clutch gets forgotten on a table or seat and then we spend the rest of the night trying to find it!  But I do love the look of a clutch even for the day so, maybe… still deciding.  What do you think of clutches?

You can only see a little bit of my nail but I was wearing this fabulous Tiffany shade of blue.  See it here on my fave nail polish blogger, All Lacquered Up.

Today is the last day to enter my Accessories Artists giveaway!  Enter here to win a fabulous pair of earrings!

Have a great weekend!

AHHHH! I am really torn between the Rebecca Minkoff Colorblock (blue/ivory) clutch or the satchel – I am inclined to get "full sized" bags all the time but I feel like the clutch would be a change of pace and I could still fit a lot in it – I am loving yours. That's one point for the clutch!

Cute outfit. I always love your color combinations.

Just found your blog through 15 Minute Beauty Fanatic and love it. I'm in the 50-something age group and, well, cloths fit differently, but I love getting my inspiration from fashionable young hip women. I've RSSed your blog and can tell I'm going to get fun retail ya-yas out seeing what you put together. You've got me thinking blouses now.

How pretty!! I just stumble upon your blog a couple of days ago and LOVE it!! 🙂 You should totally do a face of the day (FOTD) video or segment on your blog/youtube channel one of these days. Also, I am in love with the BCBG skirt that you have on as part of your logo. It has the perfect length. I haven't found anything remotely similar. 🙁 Any suggestions?

Tiffany your Mac clutch is such a gorgeous color! I heart your blouse as well! And I just have to tell you I'm so in love with the jewelryon your wrist!

Omg the thing is I've never really been into clutches for the exact reason of the fear of losing it plus it's such a nightmare when you have to go to the little girls room hahahaha but I LOVE the YSL belle du jour clutch unfortunately I hopped on the bandwagon to late… They had a really gorgeous purple one awhile back and a red one but i don't like the current color which is mustard yellow ugh.

@cinzee I completely have those weeks/days, so I know how you feel! The thing that helps me is to flip through my inspiration book (I keep a book full of magazine/catalog clippings of looks that I love) and that helps with giving me some ideas of how to put outfits together!

Hope you have a fab weekend too!

@kileen if you're not going to use it professionally, the mark II might be a better buy for you and save up your money for a better lens as lenses always make the biggest difference in pictures! But yay if you do end up getting the mark III! I'm curious to see what the differences will be.

@jennifer thanks Jennifer! I've gotten so many makeup requests so I might start adding FOTD to my blog. That BCBG skirt is still one of my faves! I haven't found something similar but if I do I'll post it here or maybe I'll do a search for skirts and do a full skirt post! 🙂
