Work the Trend: Sequins

First off, thank you so much for your comments from yesterday's post!  It's so nice and really encouraging to get support from you guys and I hope I can do the same for you.  If any of you have questions or just want some advice on taking the risk and venturing out into your own business, please email me, I'd love to chat about it and help you decide what is best for you.  I know that it's not for everyone but sometimes you just need that "push" to make the decision and I'd be happy to share my experiences with you.  It's sometimes hard to reveal much about my personal life especially as my readership grows but I really believe as a blogger you need to be authentic and I want you all to know that if you guys meet me in person, I am the same on the blog as I am in "real life" and I'm always open to answering your questions from fashion to career to anything more personal.  (although I do apologize it does take a bit of time because the amount of emails I get but I try to get back to everyone as soon as I can.)

Now onto the fun fashion-y stuff! :)

Sequins are one of those things that I think most people just automatically think "nightime" or "party" but I'm in love with all things sequins and love it when people incorporate it into their daytime wardrobe.  While some sequins are not so work friendly, I think you can still be able to work it into your work wardrobe in subtle ways but if you're afraid to wear them at work, wear them everywhere else!  Show up at a happy hour with your girlfriends in your sequins and I'm sure they'll love it!  I particularly love the sequin shorts that I've seen a few girls wearing.  I adore them am not sure how well I can pull them offf (except OMG these shorts are SO cute, I may have to order them) so I like to work my sequins in 3 different ways.  Tops, bags and shoes, which I think is the best and easiest way for those of us that don't want to be super daring in the fashion department.

Sequin tops are best worn with dark skinnies, pumps (you could do nude or black with any of these) and maybe just a bangle or two.  That's it!  It's the easiest combination of an outfit that will still get you noticed wherever you go.

While I do love my heels, when I wear flats (even if only it's running through airports or running errands) I want to have fun flats to do that in.  The sparkle of the sequins is the perfect way to show off your flats!
