We took my mom out for mother's day to her favorite brunch place, Lola, in downtown Seattle. I get a lot of questions about where to eat when visiting Seattle and although I have a million recommendations I can say that any of the Tom Douglas restaurants are a safe and super yummy bet. I've eaten at all of them and have no complaints. We had a fabulous brunch and then Pike Place was having a flower festival so we walked down there to check it out and to get my mom some flowers. I mentioned before that Pike Place Market gets super crowded but I was pleasantly surprised to see that they blocked the cars from entering Pike Place which in turn helped the usual crowding out SO much because it gave people so much more room to walk in. It was really nice walking through the market and not dealing with pushing through the crowds and cars. I don't know if it was special for the flower festival but I wish they'd close the street to cars all the time so that the market is much more fun to walk through! Anyway, it was such a great day hanging out with my family and was so happy to take my mom out for a fun mother's day!

Made to order doughnuts, seasonal jam, vanilla mascarpone
A stack of golden brown pancakes and pork-maple sausage, vanilla mascarpone, maple syrup
Lola breakfast: two eggs, smoked bacon, smashed garlic fried potatoes, toast
Eggs benedict, Bavarian meats ham, dill hollandaise
My sister flew in from Chicago to surprise my mom and surprised she was! We don't get to see my sister as often since she lived in NYC for awhile and now Chicago so it's always great to have her home.
The nice diners next to us offered to take our picture which was nice because most people are intimidated by our huge camera so usually my husband and I are not in the photo since we are the photographers!

My fabulous family minus my brother and brother in law who couldn't make it. I <3 family time and am so happy that my parents live close by enough to see them often!Happy Mother's Day to my amazing mom who I get all my style from! I learned from the best! :)

ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys had a ton of fun! What a cute family!
your family is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteand this food looks scrumptious!
and I LOVE YOUR PHOTOS! they are just fab!
@love2shop4bags it's from Forever 21 and it's kind of a dress/tunic but I belted it to make it into a top.
ReplyDelete@DSK Steph crazy! I've never been there and not gotten the doughnuts!
ReplyDelete@Lisa yeah, it's kind of a weird top as it's a bit too short to be worn as a dress but too long to be a top so I always have to belt it.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that you noticed my mom's pearl ring, of course you would! :) And yes, it's amazing, I love it!
@Anonymous Hi Rocelle! Thanks for commenting and reading my blog! :)
