Hi Loves!  How was your weekend?  Mine was fabulous, I had so much fun!  One of my highlights was meeting up with a reader who was up in Seattle visiting family and was kind of enough to make some time to hang out with me too!  We met up at my favorite coffee shop and chatted for about 3 hours and it felt like we were old friends πŸ™‚  (Hi Belle! So nice to meet you, can’t wait to hang out again!)  I adore meeting you guys and have a few more dates set to meet some of you lovely ladies who have reached out to me.  I’m super excited to have so many of you coming to Seattle this summer!  If you are in the area and want to meet up, just shoot me an email, I love meeting new people!

It feels like so long ago that we were in Jamaica but it was only just over a month ago!  I have been gone for so long and so busy that it seems like it’s been so much longer.  We went to Negril, Jamaica again (our 4th trip since we got married there almost 3 years ago!) but this time stayed at a different resort (we actually got our own private villa) which I will have photos of tomorrow!  It was hot there but also rained a few days so we had some super hot days and some days just hiding from the torrential down pour!  The weather didn’t affect us though, hubs and I had a great time relaxing and just being with each other and not thinking about work at all!  Right after this trip we went to Taiwan and China which had us going like crazy every day, full of activities and events that my dad set up so I was glad to have had this relaxing vacation right before the crazy one!  I’m usually one for vacations in which we do a lot of stuff as I love sightseeing and exploring and going out to different places to take pictures, but as I’ve gotten older, I appreciate the beauty of the “do nothing but lay by the beach and enjoy the scenery” kind of vacations.  I still love to be active but sometimes, you just gotta take a break!

Tropical vacations require the no fuss look so I always just throw on a pair of shorts and a tank or a cute dress.  I rarely do my hair while in a tropical climate as it’s pretty much useless and unnecessary.  I just braided my bangs and the front of my hair back to keep it off my face and of course, always keep a hairband on my wrist for the convenience of a ponytail at any time!  We were off to the beach after we took these photos so this outfit worked as a great swimsuit cover up.

Forever 21 is always good for cheap tops to throw on during the summer.  I do love their floral tops.  But what’s great about shopping for summer tops now is that they are all on sale!  I adore this Gap floral top, hoping I might be able to find it in store in my size.  Or love the print and ruffles of this Material Girl top (on sale for $17!) or this chiffon ruffle top on sale for $14.99  – check out the cute back!  Not on sale but had to show you guys how cute this ruffle tiered tank is!  I love the print and how it fits a bit loose, would look so cute with some pink shorts!
I am obsessed with J Crew shorts, I think the majority of my summer shorts are from J Crew.  I love the shorter length, I got mine last year but there are similar.  They just work best for my short legs. I also love all the different colors it comes in.  If you are looking for something closer to the color of my shorts, these shorts are similar.  And my love of pairing prints together, I’d totally put these striped shorts with the floral top together.  The stripes are just subtle enough that they work.  I really like them and they’re now 50% off!  I might have to get them.
Juicy Couture Finny – now on sale! And also here for silver.

I don’t like sandals that don’t have the back strap for lots of walking so I always search for ones like this.  They are much cuter on than in the picture and I highly recommend them.  I like the little shell embellishment, just enough bling!  The footbed is really comfy and cushy so I can walk in them for long periods of time.  I took them to Taiwan with me and walked full days in them and my feet didn’t hurt.  If you like them as flip flops, without the back strap, they have them with a starfish embellishment which is really cute too.  I’ve never tried Juicy shoes until now but I really like them and they’ve held up well so far.  I didn’t end up getting these but I thought these jelly sandals were cute too!  Love that blue.

I have a lot of expensive sunglasses but I’m so afraid of something happening to them that I always end up taking my MbMJ sunglasses on my trips because they are still great quality but don’t cost mucho $$$ so I don’t worry about them as much.  I like the aviator style in the plastic frames as well.  I also have these ones in the black frames, I like the gray lenses on them, it’s not as harsh on my face as most black sunglasses.

Jcrew makes my fave shorts too – I think for us shorties the 3" inseam is perfect. I love this look and have flagged it for my own tropical vacay in a few weeks. Also love the jewelry – jewelmint bracelet? I ask b/c I think I have the same one! πŸ™‚

I love that girly top on you! I agree that Forever 21 has the cutest floral tops to just throw on over anything. I recently just got one that I adore, and it was really inexpensive.

Love this outfit! Super cute and colorful for the summer. πŸ˜€ I agree. Traveling to tropical places allows for more comfortable, casual clothing (which I love!). :]
