My 2nd week of using the Nike Training Club app went well! I can tell that I’m building a lot more strength as some of the moves that I did last week that felt impossible, I am now able to do the whole interval without stopping. Mind you, it’s still hard and I’m still getting a great workout, but I’m glad that I’m not completely dying afterwards now. I’ve been working out about 4 times a week now which is kind of amazing because of my schedule but because of this app I have made my gym time a higher priority.
I love that I’ve already seen results in my strength and also have noticed the my legs have slimmed down quite a bit which is a definite plus in my book! I haven’t weighed myself so don’t know if I lost weight but I can tell that my legs are much more slim and toned than before (and it’s nice to hear it from my husband who has noticed it too 🙂
I’ve gotten a few questions from readers asking how I stay motivated and here are my tips:
- Get a workout buddy and go to the gym together. My husband is my workout buddy and although we don’t work out together, just going to the gym together at the same time helps me a lot. It’s so easy to make excuses if you have to just rely on yourself for the motivation but if you have another person that’s going with you, you want to keep the commitment to them. I often find that, in the end, even if I was super resistant to going that day, after I get to the gym and do my workout, I never regret it.
- Buy workout clothes that make you feel good. This is kind of what I feel about everyday clothes but especially with workout clothes. Baggy old t-shirts and shorts don’t do any woman any favors. You don’t have to go all out and buy the most expensive stuff but finding workout clothes that fit properly and that you feel comfortable in will help in your confidence when you get to the gym.
- If you don’t have a workout buddy or they aren’t available that week, block out gym time in your calendar just like you would a meeting and when that 15 minute warning pops up, don’t you dare hit “dismiss” and go on with your day! Start getting changed into your gym clothes and then head towards the gym. Treat it like a meeting that you have on your calendar! You wouldn’t “dismiss” an important meeting so don’t “dismiss” your workouts!
