What I’m Wearing
*Top: Aerie (similar in lots of colors, and similar on sale)
*Jeans: Rag and Bone (similar)
*Shoes: Christian Louboutin “Insectika” (GAH, I want these suede pumps! And these with the gold toes! And totally obsessed with the leopard sequin Loubies.  So pretty!)
*Clutch: t+j Designs sample – I really really want to get these made but having troubles with our manufacturer so it may not happen.  BUT we will be launching another clutch style very soon!
*Jewelry t+j Designs Delicate Link Metal Necklace – (I love this necklace, it glams up every sweater I own!), Glam Bracelet and Glam Leatherette Ring, heart ring is by Jewelmint.

I’m sitting here writing this post but really all I can think about is what I’m going to eat for dinner.  I’m really in a soup mood, it’s the fall weather that makes me crave soup.  But actually, I can always have soup, even on the hottest days, I’ll still be happy with soup.  When I was in Jamaica this summer, the resort we stayed at had this amazing pumpkin soup (which I normally don’t like pumpkin) but it was so good I got it for every meal even though it was about 100 degrees every day we were there!  I have a “go-to” chicken noodle soup recipe that is a staple for our fall and winter dinners but I’m needing something new to add to our menu.  That chicken noodle soup is probably the only meal that I repeat again and again.  It’s THAT good!  I’ve been asked before how often I repeat outfits and I actually don’t very often, it’s very rare that you’ll see me in the exact same combination of clothes.  I always find different ways to wear my pieces so an exact outfit is never really repeated and I guess I’m the same with my recipes too!  Sometimes hubs will request the same meal like a week or two later but the problem is, most of the time, I just create recipes off the top of my head so I will have completely forgotten what exactly I put together and how I cooked it so even if I try, it will always taste different!  Now I know, if it’s good I try to write it down as soon as I’m done making it so I’ll actually remember.  I have a terrible recipe system and write things down in any notebook I have handy instead of just one place.  I also have my mother in law’s recipes written on index cards and I’ve stashed them in various cookbooks which isn’t very helpful when I’m trying to find something.  I need a good system that not only organizes but also is easy to add recipes to, anyone have one that you would recommend?

Hi, i love the color palette of this outfit- the yellow clutch is so fun, adds a splash of cheeriness! I'm really bad with organizing recipes, I keep thinking that i'm going to create a recipe binder but too lazy. I keep all the recipes in my head for now, this is a really bad system 🙂

Another great outfit, I love the off the shoulder look. My H does the same thing with recipies, he calls it "freestyling." haha I wish I had your creativity to mix up my outifts like that!

It would be so awesome (for us) if you got that yellow clutch made! Ooh and I am loving the classic black pumps with a twist. I'm currently stalking prada flower heel pumps from last season – worth it?

When I first started cooking, I put a bunch of recipes into a "Tastebook" and it's a staple in my kitchen of tried and trues. I also have a plethora of binders with recipes but the ones I go to often are kept on a certain shelf and are flagged 🙂 I would love to see some more recipes that you consider staples 🙂

That yellow clutch is to.die! Love!!!

Love this grey + black look Tiff and your hair straight! 🙂 For recipes, I still have my original 3-ring binder that I print out recipes and keep in sheet protectors. I also save ones I like onto word docs and have a folder in my computer for the ones I want to keep. That way I can print new ones if I need to!
Now with Pinterest, I just pin the photos of new recipes I'd like to try and go look at my Gastrogasms board when I need inspiration!

Couldn't you file the index cards in one of those rolodex type boxes? I feel like I've seen that before.

I loveee this outfit, Tiffany! That necklace is my most coveted item from your line right now after I saw your sister wearing it and now you.

I love the casual look! Quick question for you: I just bought a pair of jeggings which are about 2 – 3 inches too long. Do you prefer to just cuff them versus get them tailored?

By the way, just discovered your blog and I LOVE it, thanks!

I love that necklace! I don't have a good recipe system at all. I have a couple of cookbooks my mom gave me, and if I print or write down a new recipe, I just shove them in the cookbooks. Not a good system at all! I want to say my Mom had a binder once and organized a lot of recipes that way, putting them in those plastic covers.

@Diane Thanks Diane! I've been looking for a yellow clutch for the longest time so was really hoping to get these made for our line!

@Make Mommy Chic Thanks Sharon! I thought about doing a binder but it seems kind of like a messy system. Like I would inevitably just start sticking random pieces of paper into it and then it would never get organized!

@thenauticalwheeler Thanks Jen! I had to cuff them because I have yet to take them to the tailor to get hemmed! 🙂

    October 18, 2011 at 7:04 pm

@Aly ~ Cooking in Stilettos Oh I like that idea, just one place to put your staples. I have a problem with not being able to organize as I want to be able to have sections of Beef, Chicken, Veggie, Soups, Crockpot, etc… but it always seems to just get clumped together and then I'm flipping through every page to find that one recipe! Maybe I'll just need to get a better system to create sections.

  • tiffanystylish
    October 18, 2011 at 7:07 pm

@DiamondsandTulle I tried the word doc for awhile and now it's just a HUGE word doc with all sorts of recipes, not organized in any way so I hate looking through it to find one recipe. I've thought about using Pinterest but my problem is that I've done a similar system, except that I'll try the recipe and then turn out not to love it but then I forget to delete it off my list and it stays on there and I'll forget if I liked it or not! I try to only keep recipes that I LOVE.

But thanks for your suggestion, I'll check out your board for any good recipes to make! 🙂

@alison*elle I could, but I can't stand the look of those things. HA! Maybe I can find a cute rolodex holder? Do those even exist?

Thanks Allison! I really do love this necklace, I just think it's so versatile!

  • tiffanystylish
    October 18, 2011 at 7:10 pm

@Charlene @ Sweetchic Cuff them or roll them under. The beauty of jeggings is that they are tight enough to stay cuffed or rolled. I don't bother getting them tailored now.

Thanks for reading and your comment! 🙂

  • tiffanystylish
    October 18, 2011 at 7:11 pm

@Katie HAHA that is exactly what I do! I can't help it, I just don't have time to organize it, so shoving it into a cookbook seems like the best idea at the time until I try to look for it, then I'm cursing myself for not organizing it!

I may resort to the binders, that seems like the best way.

Check out http://www.browneyedbaker.com and check out the recipe for Oct 18, 2011. It should take care of the fall flavors you're craving, along with a flavor you said you already liked, and it's even technically a remix on an old favorite of yours! I hope you get to try it. 🙂

Hi there! I love your blog and really like the pink lipstick you're wearing in this post…I'm always on the lookout for pretty pink shades that aren't too "frosted" — are you open to sharing what color you have on here? Many thanks!

    October 20, 2011 at 1:42 am

@kimmie Hi Kimmie! Thanks! I'm pretty sure I was wearing NARS Bangkok as my base lipstick and NYX Heiress on top which gives it much more of a pink tone. Oh and the NYX is the black label lipstick, not the round lipstick. Hope that helps! 🙂
