Nike Training Club - Week 4

How are you guys doing withthe Nike Training Club app?  If you're new to my series, I've been using the Nike Training App for the past month and I've been on the "Get Lean" program.  I finally started the advanced level workouts, which to be honest I was a bit scared to considering that the intermediate level workouts are tough enough!  The thing that I love about this app is that even though I've done almost every workout in the "Get Lean" program, I'm still not bored of it since every workout is so different and there is plenty of variety that I never feel like I'm doing the same workout over and over again.

I admit, it feels good to get an "reward" even though I don't actually get anything except for the satisfaction in seeing how many minutes I've dedicated to making myself healthier and more fit!  I've also been incorporating some of the "Get Focused" workouts that are 15 minute workouts that concentrate on just one area.  I do one of these workouts after the 30-45 minute "Get Lean" workouts and afterward I feel like I really worked out every single part of my body.  I especially love the "Arm Definer" because I love the look of toned arms!

One tip that I've found to make your gym going much easier - pack your bag ahead of time.  Before, I'd run around trying to gather all the things that I needed to work out - hair band, ipod, headphones, lock, towel, water bottle, etc... Now, I keep all those things (plus extra hair bands, headbands and bobby pins - I have a lot of hair that gets in my way!) in my bag so that I'm never without them.  One funny thing is that I always keep an extra pair of socks in my bag.  Sometimes I'll know that I won't have time to go back home to change so I bring all my workout gear with me to change into at the gym but for some reason, socks are the easiest thing I forget to pack but one of the most essential things you need!

Lookbook: Pretty Purple

Dress: Alice + Olivia Cecee dress (on sale now!) I got my dress at Nordstrom and sizing is true to size.  Similar here - with a cute peplum addition - and on sale.  (a little reminiscent of the Giambattista Valli that Emma Stone wore right?)  Love the two tone dresses, will look fantastic in the fall paired with a blazer.  Really love this similar one from BCBG.  Perfect for work!  Or this color block dress for under $100.
Shoes: Prada bow pumps, available in white.  A really great look for less here!
Bag: Gucci Boston Bag - in my opinion, better than the Louis Vuitton Speedy because it keeps it's shape when stuff is in it.

• Summertime BBQ's are the best aren't they?  I don't eat red meat very often but throw a steak on the grill and I can't resist!
• My father in law grows fresh veggies in his backyard and every summer they have an abundance of yummy veggies.  They brought us some this weekend and I have more zucchinis, cucumbers and peppers than I know what to do with but I love it.  I'm coming up with all sorts of recipes to use them with!
• Although I usually make healthy stuff with the veggies, yesterday morning I made a chocolate chip zucchini bread that was quite delicious!  The zucchini makes the bread so moist!
• Hubs and I keep on saying "let's do this before summer ends", "let's plan a trip here before the summer ends" only to realize that summer is ending sooner than we think!  wahwah, where does the time go!

• I'm wearing flats but standing on my toes for the pictures, it's just an automatic reflex.  Actually, even when I'm home and I'm barefoot, you'll still find me standing on my tip toes!
• Why are maxi skirts so much harder to wear than maxi dresses?  You'd think it would be the same but I bought this maxi skirt from American Apparel ages ago and still can't find a good way to wear it!  I think it's the length (too short to be a full maxi) that's throwing me off.
• I've never dyed my hair before but my hair always naturally gets lighter during the summer.  For some reason though, I think the windows above in the building I was next to made my hair a little purple in the pictures. I promise it doesn't look purple in real life!
• This iPhone wallet has been put to good use this summer.  I use it a lot when just running out for groceries or coffee.  It's nice to not to lug around my purses sometimes!  The only thing that's annoying is that you have to take it out of the case to take pictures but it really is the only thing that I don't like about it.

Lookbook: summer florals

The super sweet Anna from UniQUEEN sent over this pretty floral blouse and I had to bust it out the day after I received it because I just loved the print!  It's just so perfectly summery!  That's pretty rare for me as I'm one of those people that buys something and then lets it sit in my closet for a few weeks before I even think about wearing it.  I have no idea why but I've always been like that.  It's like I give it time to "integrate" with the rest of my wardrobe and then I feel like I can wear it.  :)  Do you do the same or do you wear your new stuff right after you buy it?

Macy's also has these pink jeans for a great price too!  I'm actually really liking the pink color of these ones better, I may order them to see how they look in person.  Although, I'll be the first to say that higher end jeans are always more worth it in the end.  These Zara ones I'm wearing are already saggy and weird fitting in some places.  These J Brands are a great price and probably will last a lot longer!

Thank you to JewelMint for sending me these pretty pieces!!  I've talked about JewelMint before, as I ADORE this line and how fun it is to get your monthly picks.  It is one of those companies that truly inspired me to start my own jewelry business!  I love it though because their designs are so different than what my sister and I design and it's nice to have the mix of different styles in your jewelry wardrobe.  They asked me to pick out a few of my favorite pieces to send to me and I knew immediately that I had to have this ring.  I love my statement rings and this one is great for any casual outfit.  The bracelet is really delicate and it looks great alone but I love to stack my bracelets and it went great with all of my t+j Designs bracelets! 

Jessica Simpson Landy Pump

You know how I feel about my yellow pumps, I love them!  I was thinking it was too much with this already colorful outfit but I really wanted to wear them so I said "screw it" who cares if I'm the brightest thing walking down the street, I love them! :)  Mine are the Louboutin "New Simple" which I can't find online but these chartreuse Louboutin pumps are a lot of fun!  Or you could do the opposite and go with a solid top and then wear these fun floral patterned shoes!

We loved this design so much that we got them made in as many colors as we could!  These purple, sapphire, and the emerald are my absolute favorites!

I've always been big on stacking my bracelets so when creating our line we made sure that most our bracelets could be layered and look great alone or together!  For the pink and blue bracelet I'm wearing above, I just took our Gold Chain Bracelet and used embroidery floss following this tutorial.  It just gives it such a fun look and was super easy to make.  You can see the other bracelets I made on this post.

Nike Training Club - Week 3

So, for those of you that are keeping up with me on the Nike Training Club app, it is now week 3 of using it and now things are getting a bit easier in the sense that I have memorized most of the moves in each routine so I don't have to stop and watch the instructional video as much.  I feel like I've put enough time into this app, 4 times a week 30-45 minutes each time to now say that it is 100% AWESOME!  No seriously, I have seen my body tone up in areas that are normally impossible to tone (hello, troublesome tummy area!) and I just feel great all the time!  If you know me well, you'll know that I sleep very little.  Really, 5 hours of sleep is a lot for me!  And even though I'm used to little sleep, I would get groggy and grumpy every so often from the tiredness.  These past 3 weeks, I haven't felt that at all AND I haven't missed a workout due to the fact that I was tired.  I'm seriously in love with this app!  I often finish off my workout with a run and the combination of both really gets me pumped up for the rest of the day.

Lookbook: Moneybox

The return of the lookbook video!  But this time I did it a bit differently, no talking, just some fun music and a little appearance by Savvy!  I was pleased with myself for coming up with the concept and editing it myself :)  It's less than a minute long so won't take too much of your time, hope you watch it!  Make sure to click on the little box on the bottom to watch it in 720 HD.  So much better!  I shot this on the Ultra HD Flip video camera* and was totally impressed with the quality from such a little thing!  The video is a little shaky but that's because it's all handheld except for the part that I'm walking (I put it on a ledge) but I did the best that I could!

Michael Michael Kors Lace Tank

I got my tank at Aritzia maybe a month ago but when I was there last I saw they still had it. It was pricier than I'd like to pay for a tank but I just loved the lace details and I know I'll be wearing this a lot underneath blazers when it gets to be a bit cooler here.  I love lace tops though and I also bought this pretty one in gray (and now it's marked down even more!)

Abstract Print Woven Shorts

I can't believe they still have these online!  Usually after I buy stuff at Forever 21 I can never find it online.  I love that these are a bit more high waisted and flowy so it looks a little like a skirt.  They were a whopping $9.50 so yeah, totally worth it!  Don't be afraid to mix textures and prints as I wouldn't have thought that the lace details would go with a print like this but because the coloring was a bit similar and the lace details were bigger than the print on the shorts, it just worked out.  These printed skortsare cute as well. And loving these floral print shorts too.

'Miss Dior' Peep Toe Platform Pump

 Oooh, the Miss Dior pump now has a platform!  love it!  I went to the Dior store at Taipei 101 and they had practically every color of the Miss Dior pumps which was so awesome to see.  These are some of my all time favorite pumps.  I have them in blue as well.  If you can believe it I wore these all day long and my feet didn't hurt at all!  These Jimmy Choo pumps are similar peep toe style.  And you can find the original Miss Dior pumps in black at Saks, I see them occasionally at Nordstrom too but I haven't noticed if they are carrying them this season.

Alexander Wang Rocco

I got my bag when it first came out so it doesn't have the extra shoulder strap that the new style has now.  Jealous!  I would love to have a shoulder strap on mine.  It's SO heavy without anything in it that I barely carry anything in there!  I also love it in all these different colors, especially the midnight.

Latest Loves: Prada Bow Pumps

I used to do shoe collection posts whenever I got new shoes and then I just stopped.  Don't really know why, but thought I'd bring them back!  :)  Got these pretty Prada pumps on sale about a month ago and they are definitely one of my favorites.  They're super pretty on and the color is a great tone on my skin and the bows are just too darn cute.  The perfect shoe, I could say!  Except for, since they were on sale, I had to buy a size down and well, I never recommend doing that but I HAD to because I loved them so much and since they were on sale, my size was nowhere to be found.  I took them to Nordstrom to get them stretched (FYI, they don't charge for that so if you ever need to do that for your shoes, take it to them!) and it helped but they aren't completely comfortable yet.  It's okay though, I love them so much that I can deal with them pinching my feet a little!
