Lookbook: Pink for Fall

ASOS_pinkASOS_pink2What I'm Wearing
*Eryn Brinie Blazer - fab twill blazer under $100
*Zara Blouse - no longer available but loving these dot blouses here and here
*ASOS Slim Crop Pant - similar petite sizing version (and seen on me here)
*Miu Miu pumps - similar, loooving the nude and navy ones too!
*Vintage Chanel bag - see my tips on buying vintage bags
*t+j Designs Sapphire Teardrop Earrings - on sale for $17!

This is an outfit from the fall, hence all the leaves around me but it never made it on the blog because I didn't like it much.  I mean, I think it's a good outfit in concept but the pants didn't fit me so it just looks bad.  BUT... I get a lot of questions on ASOS sizing (I know, it's a bit crazy!) so I thought I'd post these pants to give you guys an idea of the fit of their regular sizing pants as opposed to their Petite Sizing which you can see a pair on me in this lookbook.  (Both are a size 2)  They are much too big on me and throughout the day they seemed to stretch even more and by the end of the day were falling around my hips.  I could belt it but then it bunched really weird so now these are relegated to the back of my closet and probably won't be worn unless I can convince my tailor to slim them down for me for not too crazy of a cost.  It's a shame because I love the style and the color and I really wanted them to work.  I didn't think that petite sizing would make much of a difference (my usual take on petite sizing is slightly smaller fit and shorter inseam but not a crazy difference) but I'd say it's at least a full size and a half bigger so be warned when ordering pants from ASOS.  I got to meet up with Jean last night (more on that later!) who is the queen of petite sizing and fits and I was talking to her about how I don't tend to buy petite sizing in pants because the inseams are always too short for me but for ASOS, petite sizing is definitely the way to go!  Just thought I'd share the tip with those of you that always wonder what size to order and if you should get the regular or petite size.  :)

P.S. I'm on a flats kick and am loving cap toe flats, check out my top picks over on the Smarter blog!

Strawberry Cake Mix Cookies

So many things to blog about but so little time to do it!!  I've been a little MIA on the internets lately because I've been meeting with lots of awesome people and getting new ideas and have a few fun projects/events on the way!  Super excited for the next few weeks/months!  So anyway, that's why these cookies that I made for Valentine's Day are being posted so late but they are so yummy and work for any occasion, not just Valentine's Day.  The best part?  They are SO easy to make you won't even believe it.
valentines_day_roses
Thank you to my husband who brings me flowers for no occasion at all but also never forgets on VDay either :)
I like to bake everything from scratch just because I think it tastes better (and any excuse to use my Kitchenaid Mixer - my favorite appliance!) but as I was looking for cookies to make for Valentine's Day I found these Strawberry Cookies and thought it sounded delicious and then when I saw that they were made simply with a cake mix I was like "WHAAA?"  I have never heard of such a thing!
strawberry_cake_mix_cookies4
Doesn't the dough look like strawberry sorbet? :)strawberry_cake_mix_cookies2strawberry_cake_mix_cookies
strawberry_cake_mix_cookies3
Head on over to Love Veggies and Yoga to get the very easy to make recipe.  All you need is strawberry cake mix, butter, egg and vanilla!  She made a cream cheese frosting which I'm not a fan of so I took an easier way out and bought whipped topping from Trader Joe's and topped the cookies with sprinkles or made them "whoopie pie" style and sandwiched the whipped topping in between.  These are DELICIOUS and are so easy to make.  Everyone who I gave them to loved them, especially my husband!

My tips on the recipe...
  • Definitely take the time to let the dough chill in the refrigerator/freezer.  They really do spread a lot but they stay thicker if you chill the dough.
  • Make sure that they are cooked through by checking the bottoms of the cookies are browned.  She mentioned that they will be a little loose and jiggly but after you take them out they will cook more on their own.  This usually happens when I make cookies but not for these ones.  I had quite a few undercooked cookies so I ended up cooking mine for about 12-14 minutes as opposed to her 8-10 minutes.
  • You don't need the cookie scoop like I used but I like to use it so I could get about the same size/shape for the "whoopie pie" style ones.
I've got a new post over on the Smarter blog... I'm a total heels girl but I've got a soft spot for certain flats, come see my favorite ones!

Lookbook: Pattern Mixer

dee_raydee_ray2dee_ray3
 What I'm Wearing
*Anthropologie Blazer - Similar or Similar - on sale.
*dee&ray blouse (gifted) - same style but different pattern (check out their new site and all their cute new stuff.  I love all their fun print tops!)
*Zara trousers
*Dior "Miss Dior" pumps - also closed toe versions.  I'm dying for the neon yellow ones too!
*Chanel "Ultimate Stitch" bag
*t+j Designs Gray Emerald Cut Statement ring - all rings are currently $16!  Ends today and Free Shipping on all orders.

I am really good at keeping my side of the closet organized and I'm the type of person that has a hanger for every piece of clothing.  Well, my side of the closet is full so I keep some of my stuff onto my husband's side and his side is usually a mess.  Anyway, he's been searching for a pair of corduroy pants that he just got at J Crew but couldn't find them and I just assumed that it was just lost in his messy pile of clothes.  He searched high and low for about a week and the whole time asking me to keep an eye out for them.  One day we were in the closet talking and he asked me about it again and I said I hadn't seen them and then as I reached in to get these pants that I'm wearing in this lookbook, lo and behold, guess what's hanging on my pants hanger?  HIS corduroys!  OMG, I burst out laughing and I couldn't stop laughing.  I had been hiding them the whole time without knowing it.  I had thought they were my cords that had fallen into his pile and just put them on my hanger without even looking at them.  I still can't stop laughing thinking about how he tore his side of the closet apart searching for them when they were just hanging there the whole time.  LOL!

P.S. I looove accessorizing my gadgets, don't you? ;)  Check out my picks here!

J Crew shopping!

I went shopping yesterday and took some fitting room pics at J Crew and since they are doing 20% off orders over $150 (expires 2/22) I thought I'd share what I tried on and what I liked!  Unfortunately they aren't doing an extra % off at the stores (I wish!) so I ended up buying online to get the 20% off.

First the sale stuff, this blythe blouse is super cute but when I put it on, I felt like I was wearing a pajama top so I didn't get it.  But looking at the pics, I actually like it and might need to go back to see if they still have my size.  I'm wearing a size 00 and the fit is great although the sleeves are long so I would wear it rolled up.

The lace sweater on the left was really cute and a great fit but it was on sale for $79.99 which I thought was still a tad expensive for it (so I bought it online to get the 20% off).  The tee on the right is really cute.  The green is even brighter in person and I loved it but I have so many casual tees that I'm trying to not add to the pile so I passed (although I still really want it!)  Both are size XXS.  The gray sweater is a bit tighter in the bust (where the lace ends above the chest there's no stretch) so would be great for someone with a smaller bust but still works for someone my size.  The green tee overall had a perfect fit.

Now onto the regular price stuff.  They had a lot of cute new arrivals that I loved.  I wanted to love this polka dot shirt but it just ended up looking sloppy on me.  Their colorful toothpick jeans are sooo cute and I love all the colors.  The green is a size 24 and fits great in the waist but a little tight in the thighs and the orange is a size 25 but a bit baggy in the waist (you can see where it's creasing in the crotch area because it's roomy).  I usually wear a size 25 in all other jean brands so just wanted to give you a size reference in case you are thinking of ordering them.  I didn't love the fit of either of them (it's like I needed an in between size) so I didn't get them but if they go on sale, I'll pounce :)
Polka-dot popover | Toothpick jean in garment-dyed twill in festival green and neon persimmon

The striped blouse was an instant love.  I love the color and even though I don't wear much green, I loved the mix of the navy blue with it.  I'm wearing a size 00 and fit is great shoulder wise and on the sides.  The length is long enough to tuck in but looks great untucked too.  (I have it slightly rolled under in the picture.)  The heart print blouse is SO cute.  I don't know why they don't have it online yet but I'm sure it will be up soon.  I love this top but they only had a size 0 which looks okay in the pictures but in person there was a lot of room on the sides and arms so I didn't bring it home with me.  If I see it in my size though, I'll totally be getting it.
Polly popover in stripe crepe de chine | Heart print blouse (not online)

When I was ordering online I also saw this silk blouse on sale for $49.99 which I think is a great price for a silk blouse so added it to my cart too.

Did you do any shopping for President's Day Weekend?  Lots of good sales but I didn't pick up much besides these few items.  Oh and if you are wondering, the jeans I'm wearing are the 7FAM The Rachel Bell Bottoms and jewelry is of course from my jewelry line.  The Turquoise Rose Gold Cushion ring and to be released rose gold key necklace and rose gold crystal ring.

Quick and Easy Dinner: Clam Chowder Bread Bowls

When I first started cooking, I used to be scared off from recipes that had more than 5 ingredients and 5 steps.  I just felt like I couldn't handle all of that and the few times that I tried, I was disappointed with the results so was discouraged from cooking at all.  I don't know when it kicked in but when I finally learned to adapt recipes to my and my husbands tastes and make them easier for me to prep and cook, was when I started to enjoy cooking.  Nowadays, I not only need "easy recipes", I need recipes that can be put together and be on the table pretty quickly since I work almost all day and night (owning your own business does that to you) so I don't have a lot of time to devote to the kitchen daily.
I love soup for dinner and clam chowder is an indulgence that I like to get at restaurants (Seattle has some great clam chowder!) but I've never made it myself.  I suddenly had a craving for it and decided, why not?  I looked at a few recipes and then made this one using the general ingredients but keeping it to my taste and using canned clams to make my life easier.  This recipe only took me about 30 minutes to make so is perfect for those of you like me that want delicious meals in a short amount of time!

Makes about 4 servings

Ingredients:
  • 2-3 slices of bacon, diced
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 3 Tbsp flour (I used whole wheat flour)
  • 1-2 cans of canned clams
  • Reserve liquid from the canned clams + water up to 2 cups
  • 6-8 small golden potatoes
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme or 1 tsp of fresh thyme if you have it
  • 1 cup milk (I used non fat - use whatever you have)
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Sourdough bread bowls (not necessary but so yummy!)
Note: most recipes call for bay leaf but I didn't feel like paying $3 for a whole thing of leaves when I would only use a few so I left it out and it still tasted fine

My first thing is to prep all your ingredients.  This means dicing the clams (if you bought them whole), bacon, onion and potatoes before putting anything on the stove and pulling out all the other ingredients on your kitchen counter.  As I've learned through tons of cooking mishaps, when you aren't prepared is when you get in trouble with cooking and burning things.

In your large pot cook your bacon until almost crisp.  Add the diced onion and butter.  After the butter is melted, add the flour slowly to the mixture and stir to blend.  This will help thicken the chowder.  While this mixture is cooking (you want the onions to be softened) pour the liquid from the canned clams into a large measuring cup and then fill with water until you get about 2 cups of water/clam liquid mixture.  (I used 2 cans of clams so I had about 1 cup of clam liquid and 1 cup of water).

Add the clam liquid/water mixture, diced potatoes, thyme and milk to the mixture.  Bring to a boil, continue to stir it as it boils.  Reduce the heat and simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the potatoes are tender, stirring occasionally.

Add clams and heavy cream and bring to a simmer.  Cook for only a few minutes more (you just want to heat up the clams since they are already good to go) but don't cook too long as you don't want your clams to get tough.

Add salt and pepper to taste and you are done!

Scoop into your bread bowls and enjoy your yummy meal.

One note on the recipe: I used two cans of clams which turned out to be a tad bit clammy for us so next time I will only be using one can.  Just to let you know in case you don't want yours to be too clammy either.  Everything else was perfect!

I got all of my ingredients from Trader Joe's including the bread bowls and I will say that the bread bowls were just as good as any restaurant ones that I've tried.

Have a good weekend!  I've got a busy one ahead but am glad it's a 3 day weekend! If you are in the mood for some new jewelry come check out my jewelry line and save up to $25 off your order!

Wishlist: Rag & Bone

Just doing a little online window shopping and simply fell in love with so many things at rag & bone.  rag & bone is quite possibly my favorite designer and I usually covet everything they design however I'm really loving the bright colors they are doing this season!  And how gorgeous are those boucle biker jackets?  Eeep! I love!
Hamilton Dress | Danby Sweater

In regards to sizing for this brand, I'm pretty much true to size for all their items.  Everything they make fits so well (if you are my size/shape and have a hard time finding perfectly fit blazers and jeans, they are my go-to for those things, I rarely have to get them altered, except for hemming, but I hem all my jeans!)

Oh! I have to pass on a great deal to you!  As you might know, I adore Julep Maven and getting my box of nail polishes each month (see my review here) and they are now offering your intro box for $1!  No lie, $1.  Each box costs $19.99 and you get at least 2 nail polishes + an extra something in each box and their nail polishes retail for $14 each, so you do the math, it's a great deal.  But for $1, it's an even better deal!  I'm kind of wishing I could sign up as a new member just to get this deal...  Click here or the photo below and use code SHAREONFEB to receive the offer.
Just to let you know, I get referral credits for each person I recommend and for every 2 referrals I get a free month but once you are a "Maven" you get to do the same too so share on with your friends to get a free month!  If you don't want to go through my link you can always go straight to their site to sign up but if you do use my link, thank you!  (And just to be clear, I'm grateful for the referrals but I'm mentioning this deal because I honestly do love the Julep Maven boxes and love getting my new polishes each month so want to share my love for them and the amazing deal with you guys!)

Capture the Moment

As you’ve seen from my Cell Phone pictures posts, I love taking lots and lots of pictures and love documenting even the littlest moments with my phone camera.  I find that some of the smaller moments are the ones that make me smile the most when I look back through the pictures on my phone.

A few weekends ago, before my week long business trip, my husband and I went out with our doggies (mostly because Savvy is sick, poor thing is losing her fur and we can’t figure out why) so we had an appointment at the vet but then took them out to walk around a neighborhood that we love (Ballard).  It was such a “normal” day but so fun to have our doggies with us.  I randomly snapped photos throughout our walk and while I was on my business trip, I looked through the photos and it was fun to relive the fun little moments that we had that day.  As a photographer, of course I love my fancy dslr and variety of lenses to capture some of the more important moments but I don’t think that you need a fancy camera at all to create pictures that you will love and treasure for a long time.  Like they say “the best camera is the one that’s with you” and for me, that’s my usually phone camera.  I try to clear the pictures in my phone once in awhile but there are some from even 2 years ago that I still haven’t cleared off yet and I just can’t because I love looking back at the moments. Some of them don’t seem like much, but to me, just seeing the small detail of the picture I took that day makes me remember so much more. I love having this little “diary” to look back on which is also why I love posting my phone pictures to my blog just because there are certain things that I forget about but I look back through the posts and love seeing what I was doing/where I was at, at that moment. I never thought that I’d rely on the camera on my phone as much as I do but I live such a crazy, fast paced life that I love having these moments captured on my phone and have it be so easy to look back on.

Just a few snaps from the day... At the Vet, we brought Macho for moral support but I don't think he was very excited about that.
Walking through Ballard and finding funny things to get the dogs to pose with (unsuccessfully I might add, all the pictures were blurry).
A new restaurant that we want to try.  I love the chandelier and the wall paper!
Seattle has lots of yummy bakeries that get mentioned a lot (my favorite being Macrina) but Larsen's gets no hype at all, however I still think they are one of the best!  They are a Danish bakery so they make a ton of stuff that no other bakery makes.  Whenever I go in there I want to buy everything they have in their case.  I settled for 3 pastries to split with the hubs and we took them home for a little late afternoon picnic.
Later that night after we dropped the doggies off at home (they were pooped from their adventurous day!) we went to our favorite place to get some late night snacks, the new-ish Seattle location of Cactus.  I love their calamari mainly because they also deep fry jalapenos in there.  SO YUM!  And their Patron Agave Margarita (Fresh pressed lime juice, Patrón Blanco tequila and 100% organic agave nectar) is so good that it's dangerous.  Meaning I could drink so many of them that you'd probably have to carry me out of there.  haha!  Don't worry I only stuck to one but that's how good they are!

Valentine's Day Nails!

Inspired by Love Maegan and MixedMama (found the image on Pinterest but can't find her exact post), I created my own little heart mani!
Love Maegan's beautiful heart mani

 MixedMama's pretty little heart
I used Sally Hansen in Sea (it takes about 3 coats to make it that minty color) and OPI in Shorts Story.

I couldn't do it with my nail polish brush like Maegan did because mine is too thick and my hands are too shaky but I used my handy nail dotting tool (that I use to dot my nails like I did here).  Just drop some nail polish onto a magazine, collect a little bit on the tip of the dotting tool and swoop one side of the heart onto your nail and then dot into nail polish again and swoop the other side of the heart.  It's not perfect but it's actually a lot easier to control than with the nail polish brush and I kinda like that all the hearts are different.  That's what makes it fun right?

Happy Valentine's Day!  To my family, friends and readers, thank you so much for all your support it means the world to me!  XOXO

Lookbook: Paisley

jcrew_paisley4jcrew_paisley2jcrew_paisleyjcrew_paisley3 What I'm Wearing
*Madwell Cardigan - Similar and on sale!  Madewell is 4% cashback at ebates now too!   Last seen on me here.  I'm loving this color so much, it's way more versatile than I had thought!
*J Crew Talitha Blouse - on sale!  Also a button down  and dress of this print on sale too.  (3% cashback at ebates)
*Forever 21 Skirt - similar for $7.80 or a slightly more "poofy" skirt that's cute as well.
*DKNY tights in gray
*Christian Louboutin "Bianca" pumps (in black) or nude - the new Bianca Jazz pumps have a higher platform so they are probably more comfortable than mine which is a 5.5 inch pump and not the best shoe to do lots of walking in!
*t+j Designs Gold Luxe Link Necklace and Dashes of Purple Crystal Ring - on sale for $12!

Just got back from a very exhausting business trip and I'm glad to be back in a world without spotty internet and finally back in the land of social media!  Although I do have to say, it is kind of nice to be forced to take a break from it.  All my posts last week were scheduled so I'm just getting to the questions I got, thanks for your patience!  For my DIY glitter post, I did get questions about the glitter fall out and all of my projects have not had any problems with it!  The Mod Podge really glues it all down so there is no trail of glitter anywhere!

Happy Monday, hope you guys have a great week!

Lookbook: Missoni for Target

missoni_target_cardigan5 missoni_target_cardiganmissoni_target_cardigan4missoni_target_cardigan6missoni_target_cardigan1missoni_target_cardigan2missoni_target_cardigan3
What I'm Wearing
*Missoni for Target Cardigan - thank you to my mom who was lucky enough to score some great stuff during the Missoni-Target frenzy!  This cardi was definitely one of the best things that I got, the quality is fantastic, almost unbelievable that it's Target!
*ASOS bow blouse - I'm wearing a size 2 Petite and it's slightly big on the sides (which creates lots of bunching when tucking it in so I only tuck in the front).  I'm usually an XS in tops so if you are about my size, I'd probably try a 1 Petite in their blouses.  I left the blouse untucked in one pic so you can see the length.  Similar bow blouse (no print and short sleeve) would look great under a cardigan or blazer.  Love the ruffle collar blouse too.  And similar horseprint blouse.
*ASOS crop skinny pant (petite) and regular sizing (on sale!) - These are also a 2P and the fit is great (I'm typically a size 0/25 in pants) but a little long even for being petite and crop.  I need to get them hemmed, I rolled them under for these pics.
*Christian Louboutin New Simple Pumps (black) - my go to shoes when I need a bit of cheering up!  Also in nude.  In my experience, the Simple pumps run more true to size than the New Simple pumps which are a bit small to begin with but with wear they now fit perfectly to my fit.  I've heard quite a few people say that they go 1/2 size up.
*Balenciaga Classic City (gray) - I have mixed feelings about the Bal bags.  I love the look but hate that they get so heavy so quickly.  I feel like I have nothing in my bag but my arms are already tired from carrying it.  I know you can use the shoulder strap but it looks better handheld in my opinion.  But then whenever I see other people carrying them, I want to buy another color.  They are so pretty!  I love this purple.  However, I may have found my solution with the Hip bag.  I saw one at Nordstrom and they are a great size and I love that they just look like mini city bags.
*t+j Designs Gold Luxe Colored Crystal Bangle Set - One of my favorite of our new bangle sets.  These go with everything.  I wear them all the time.

Can you tell these are another set of tripod/remote pictures?  Mostly you can tell because the gratuitous overposting of photos!  LOL.  I had a hard time editing them down because I had so many.  I felt like I took about 100 pictures!  When my husband takes my photos he takes about 10.  Like I said before, huge props to those of you that self shoot every outfit photo.  It takes a lot of patience!  I started out at a park that had nice scenery but it was next to a kid's playground which I didn't think much of until I heard this slight "aaaaaahhhh" sound from far away and then it got closer and closer until it was "AAAAHHHHAAAHHHAHHH" and about 30 kids from a nearby school poured in and the entire area was swamped with kids!  I really couldn't shoot with that commotion, I literally had kids running under my tripod so I packed up my stuff and found an office building instead.  It was much quieter there ;)

Glitter... Everything!

Ever since I made my glitter clutch, I've been looking around at everything that we have around the house that I can glitter.  I told you I had a lot of glitter projects to share, I finally gathered them together to photograph!

First up are these little tea light holders that were totally boring on their own...

I put together a mixture of Mod Podge and glitter (same as the glitter clutch) but this time I dumped the mixture in the candleholder, swirled it around until it covered every area and then let it dry upside down for a day.  Now, they are adorable and I keep one in the bathroom to hold my bobby pins which has made my life so much easier when doing my hair!  Obviously the other thing I glittered was my iPhone case.  I had a freebie case that I wasn't using from when Apple was giving out free cases (because of the antenna issue).  A plain black case instantly turned into something very girly and glam that I use all the time now!  (I just used the mixture and dipped a foam brush into it and painted the mixture right onto the case.  It needed about 3 coats.)

*A note on the tea light holders, you can still use tea lights in them even with the glitter, just get the battery operated ones. They look just as cute and they even flicker a little!  I have ones that I always keep in my candle holders.

I buy a ton of candles and always try to keep the jars once they are done being candles because they are great storage holders (I use a few to hold my makeup brushes).  So instead of just cleaning it out and leaving it as is, I glittered it!  I used a different glitter than the Martha Stewart for this one and it was a very fine, almost powdery glitter which I didn't like as much.  It took many more coats to get it to be that glittery.  The Martha Stewart glitter is the perfect consistency and opaque which I think looks better.  To clean out almost empty candle jars, boil a pot of water with about an inch or two of water (depending on how big your candle jar is and how much wax is left) and put the candle in the pot.  It will melt the remaining wax in the jar and then you can dump the wax straight into the garbage and then wash the container out.  Use a fork to scoop out the wick holders.
I filled it with my lipglosses and lip liners.  Now my bathroom has a lot more glittery additions! And lastly, a jam jar converted into a gold pencil holder that makes my desk much more fun!

There are so many things you can do with Mod Podge and glitter. Just look around your house, I'm sure you'll find as much stuff as I did!

Lust List: Miu Miu

My favorite accessories designer over the past few years has been Miu Miu.  I've accumulated quite a few pair of Miu Miu shoes (and my much loved bow bag) and have fallen in love with every single collection.  When I got the email about their Valentine's day bags I went to their site and when I saw these lovely pink and red jeweled bags, I squeeled!  It's so cute and so girly and so me!  I want it all!  Now if I can only figure out a way to become a millionaire ;)

I also have a couple of pairs of heels on my wishlist.  The glitter ones don't need explanation do they?  They just belong in my closet already. :) The blush ones would be so perfect for summery dresses.  I talked about the navy ones before but I just adore the color and I think would look great with a tan.

  1. Miu Miu Glitter-finish leather sandals
  2. Miu Miu Patent Leather Strappy Platform Sandal
  3. Miu Miu - Suede Criss-Cross Platform Sandals
And a few more pink bags that must somehow make their way into my collection.  Other than my Foley & Corinna bag, I don't own any other pink bags.  I think I might need to change that soon.  The top contender is the leather tote (#1).  It's such a great size and love that it comes with a shoulder strap.  I love the look of handheld bags but sometimes it gets so annoying to not have the option to put it over your shoulder.  The little Valentine's Day shoulder bag though, is so cuuute!

  1. Grained-leather tote
  2. Mini matelassé leather clutch
  3. Valentine's Day Shoulder Bag
Thanks to DesignEditor for the adorable glitter hearts download

Also, please excuse my absence from commenting and responding.  I've been a bit consumed by work and have been on a few business trips and haven't had time to catch up.  I so appreciate everyone that stops by and those of you that leave a comment.  Thanks for your patience, especially if you've written me an email or left me a question in the comments.  I will get back to you as soon as I can!

Current Favorite: Marc Jacobs Quilted Crossbody Bag

outfit details here
My current favorite bag is something that actually surprised me, the reason being that I'm not a small bag kind of girl.  If you've seen my "What's in my bag" post and video (which coincidentally was almost 1 year today! I need to update again.), you'll know that I like to carry a lot of stuff in my handbag and I can't bear to leave stuff at home.
My husband actually bought this bag for me and to be quite honest, I don't think I would've chosen it for myself.  Not because I didn't love the style, that I did love but I wasn't so sure about the size. There is a bigger size and I probably would have gone for that.  But once I started using it, it was really hard for me to go back to using a bigger bag!  I like the ease and convience of slinging it over my shoulder and not having to carry around a wallet as there are very convienent credit card slots and lots of pockets in this little bag.  I also hated that most of my handbags have a tendency to fall off my shoulders (especially when I'm trying to carry groceries in - don't you hate that?) and the cross body is just so nice to have to not have to worry about your purse falling off or your crap falling out of it.  And when you're feeling fancy just tuck the strap into the bag to create a cute little clutch.  I like doing this when we go out to dinner and I can just keep my bag on the table or chair without taking up a bunch of space.  Anyway, I'm a total "small purse" convert and wanted to give my little bag some blog time.

My color is last season but there are lots of other pretty colors here, or in a berry pink or a light pink.  They also have a large size (I was thinking about getting this one) or an Xlarge.  The larger ones don't have the credit card/ID slots built in, which is really the biggest plus for me with this bag.  There's also the Murray Crossbody which is $80 cheaper and looks nice too (no credit card slots) or for the same price there's a crossbody wallet version which looks great too!  So many choices!  Anyway, if you are looking for a great crossbody bag, I highly recommend the one I have as I've been carrying it almost nonstop and haven't wanted to switch bags yet!
