Nike Free Run iD

I'm an equal opportunist for all my shoes.  I love my heels as much as I love my flats and even more surprisingly, I love my workout shoes.  Admittedly the sneaker love is influenced by my husband as he loves sneakers and when I first met him I knew nothing about them (or cared to).  When we'd go to the gym, I'd sport my old high school cheerleading shoes (yikes!) but soon enough he taught me the ways of exercising in appropriate workout shoes and not just appropriate but good looking workout shoes!  We are pretty biased towards Nike so everything I own is by Nike but in my opinion, they make the prettiest sneakers so that's why I stick with them. :)  Nike asked me to try out their Nike Free Run iD on Facebook to create my very own Nike Free Run shoes and how could I resist?  I finally get to design my own pretty workout shoes!

It was actually a lot harder than I thought to create my shoe but I had a lot of fun.  Not hard in a bad way, hard in a way that I just could not settle on one color and changed colors about 20 times!  I love that you are able to customize the color of everything down to the swoosh!

You start with a totally gray shoe and then you are able to change the color to their standard choices, but they have great options.  I tend to love gray shoes so I kept it but I've always loved this hot pink and the funny thing is, whenever I find a Nike shoe that's pink and gray that I like, everywhere is always sold out of my size (or I'm told they don't even get a size 5 in that shoe) so I'm excited that I can finally create one of my own!

And here's what I ended up with!  Cute right?  Do you see the STYLE and ISH on the tongue?  I love it!  I have this thing about neons on my gym shoes, I gotta have it!  I picked my two favorite neon colors.  I love them so much and had fun designing them.  Can't wait to try them out at the gym!

NIKEiD is the ultimate customization experience and allows our consumers to take their unique inspiration and express it within our Nike product, which results in a perfect intersection: personalized looks on the best performance athletic performance gear in the world.

Ann Taylor Shoe Love!

I don't browse Ann Taylor very often but I was looking on the site today and came upon their shoes which I instantly fell in love with!  Seriously, why didn't anyone tell me they make such cute shoes?  As you may know, almost my entire shoe collection is made up of pumps (I'm a bit obsessed!) and I'm always looking for great pumps for work and I love all of these!  I also noticed that they are having a sale (30% off all shoes today) so thought I would share the sale and show you the pretties!
Cheri Peeptoe Platform Pumps - in 3 colors, I'm debating between the Dark Navy and the Khaki

Really loving the two tone versions!  The coral heels are gorgeous!

Elizabeth Pointy Flats - these flats with neon "french tips" are so cute!
Carly Canvas Platform Pumps - and these adorb espadrille like pumps.  Perfect Summer pumps!

If you've tried Ann Taylor shoes (or specifically any of these!) I'd love to hear your thoughts and how well they fit before I place my order! :)

P.S. my love for lace continues.  Check out my lace details top picks, all under $50!

Basics: LAmade

You know what? I just realized that I'm not too much of a "basics" girl and even though I *think* I have enough basics, when I get dressed and reach for them, I just don't love the pieces that I do have.  It also happens to get to the point where I just want to wear a tee and cardigan and the cardigan looks nice but the tee I'm wearing underneath is just old and not cute so it just looks weird.  Does that happen to anyone else?  Anyway, thanks to twitter, I was reintroduced to LAmade, a great basics line.  I do have quite a few LAmade pieces that I got a few years ago but I haven't looked at the line for awhile.  I am actually loving quite a few things that I think I need to restock my basics wardrobe.  The pieces that I do have, the quality is great and the price isn't super cheap but what I've found that investing in a few basics is so much better than buying those oh so tempting $5 shirts at Forever 21 that only last a few washes.

I love these pieces that look great either alone or worn with a blazer or cardigan.  And, I love how they paired these with colored denim which is so what I'm going to be doing when the sun finally comes out here!

They also have some great "not so basic" basics.  Don't those sweater cardigans look so cozy?  And I love the tanks, I would totally wear them underneath a blazer or one of these cardigans.

Oh and the dresses!  I love these, they are perfect for the spring/summer when I'll want to just be lazy and put something cute on and go.  I'm loving the stripes!

And I should totally keep this to myself since I totally want to win (hehe) but they are having a fun  facebook contest.  All you need to do is to like them and enter to win!  Good luck, I hope you (or I!) win! :)

Color Craze!

I am going through a serious color craze right now and you can especially tell with our latest collection for my jewelry line.  I think this sad gray (and snowy!) weather is really getting to me so I've been trying to wear lots of brights to make me happy.

And here I am wearing a few of our newest pieces (don't you love the tangerine background!) :)

I've been searching for lots of brights as I discovered that I have a good amount of colored jeans and pants, but not too many tops or dresses.  Here's a few that I'm loving and I decided to finally track my shopping lusts onto a pinterest board so follow me here if you want to see what's most likely in my shopping cart :)

Lookbook: Be Bold!

I love trying out new (to me) brands and stores so when Kohl’s reached out to me to try out their clothing lines I was definitely interested. I’ve seen lots of ads as well as really cute pieces from Kohl’s on other bloggers but I have yet to try it. Well, I finally got a chance to check it out and you could say I was pleasantly surprised from the whole experience.  When I walked in, I noticed that the store was divided by their clothing lines and it was easy to see which ones I was most attracted to - LC Lauren Conrad, Jennifer Lopez Collection and Rock and Republic. All of the lines had great versatile pieces but each had it’s own unique style. I found so many things that I loved and that really worked with my style. Oh and you know what I liked about shopping there? The prices of everything was super easy to find! They have these handy digital signs that sit on the racks and tell you the price and the sale price, which I thought was really neat and I hadn’t seen before. I was also happy to find that everything that I loved and bought was on sale! Who doesn’t love a sale?
What I’m Wearing
*LC Lauren Conrad Pointelle Cardigan
*LC Lauren Conrad Polka-Dot Pintuck Top
*Rock and Republic skinny jeans
*t+j Designs Rose Gold Love Necklace

They asked me to put together an outfit based on the bold color trend, which was easy because I love color. I was immediately drawn to this pretty coral blouse and of course, the polka dots is something I’m absolutely loving now so I knew this one was definitely coming home with me. The sweater is just love. The color, the quality (it’s super soft and really well made) and the length – I love longer cardigans, I just know I will be wearing this a lot! What surprised me the most though, was the jeans. I have worn Rock and Republic jeans before and I used to spend a ton more on them. I kinda expected a lesser quality with this collaboration only because I’ve tried on other brands that have lines with “bigger” brands and been disappointed with the quality. These Rock and Republic jeans are pretty much the same quality as I remember and they fit SO well. I love them and have worn them so many times since I got them. It’s always nice when you try out a new store/brand and get a great experience out of it so I was really happy with what I found with Kohl’s and find myself perusing the website a lot now!

Lookbook: Blue Stars

Forever21_star4Forever21_star3Forever21_star2Forever21_stargrand_central_bakerygrand_central_bakery2
What I'm Wearing
Top: Forever 21 (no longer available) - love this star print top, pricey but super cute star print Equipment blouse.
Jeans: Rag & Bone cobalt jeans (this season's version) - also these Rag & Bone jeans are such a pretty color and on sale.
Booties: Prada - nothing super similar but these booties are a great alternative and under $100.
Bag: Vintage Chanel
Jewelry: t+j Designs new collection! Black Colorblock Cuff, Black Faux Leather Square Bangle and White Faux Leather Square Bangle.  (not yet released bow necklace)

I took these photos this weekend when we went out for a casual little breakfast/snack at Grand Central Bakery.  Those delicious looking things are their seasonal danishes which essentially is a super flaky croissant like pastry covered in a maple glaze.  It's so yummy and I've never had anything like it before!  (and no I didn't eat both, hubs and I shared one and then we took one home) :)

You may have noticed the blog has been a little quiet lately and it's mainly due to our BRAND NEW website and the release of our Spring Collection!  I'm SO happy and excited to finally share them with you all and I'm actually just relieved that I may be able to get more than 3 hours of sleep now.  LOL!  But really, I'm very proud of our new website and my sister and I are even more excited for our fun spring pieces!  I've been wearing them tons lately and I think (hope) that you guys will love them as much as we do.  I've got a jam packed week ahead with several very fun events that I'm looking forward to, one being the Madewell shopping party that I mentioned in my last post.  I will be bringing some of our new pieces to style with their clothing so you can try some on and see it in person! :)  I really hope you guys can make it.  Thanks to those of you who've sent me messages letting me know that you are coming, I appreciate it and can't wait to see you and hang out!  pssst... I'll also be giving out a little present + exclusive discount code for my readers that come!  haha, a little incentive never hurt right?

Oh and our new site has the capability to create accounts so that you can login and won't have to always put in your information every time you order and you can create a wishlist etc...  If you create an account with us this week, we'll give you a $10 credit to use on your next order!
