Caseable sent me this custom Macbook Pro Laptop Sleeve a few months ago and since then, I've been carrying my MacBook everywhere in it.  I just love it and it's perfect to provide protection and stylish to carry with me everywhere!

I used one of the designs from their artist collection - mine is designed by Aurelie Scour but you don't have to use their designs, you can design your own with your own photos!  I just loved the red soles and thought it was perfect to tote my laptop around in.

ASOS Shopping

ASOS is one of my favorite online shops.  Sizing is a bit inconsistent but the free shipping and returns makes it easy enough to order what I want and then return whatever doesn't fit.  They have a great 20% off sale a ton of styles right now AND an extra bonus of up to $50 off your order!  With this good of a deal I had to place an order.

I'm a total girly girl and love these pretty lacy, floral pieces.  The green dress in the middle may be my favorite, I hope it fits!

And loving these fun tops for the spring/summer.  I'm not a huge fan of peplum, for some reason it never looks right on me, but I like that these peplum tops have a bit of a longer length which works better for someone with a short torso like me.  If you know me, I love printed tops and bow tie tops so this bow printed top needed to be in my closet.  There's a dress version of it too!

Are you guys getting anything from the sale?

Pretty eye makeup

I'm so obsessed with pretty eye makeup.  I don't have the greatest eyes or skills for it, but I try as hard as I can!  I love pinning all the pretty eye makeup tutorials.  My make up pinterest board is full of gorgeous looks that I'll probably never achieve but I still like looking at.  I'm particularly in love with this girl's amazing blue eyes and the subtle but super pretty eye makeup she did.

I do love a good neutral palette and I've been using the Urban Decay Naked palette since it came out but quite honestly it's not my favorite.  I have tried several other palettes that have worked for me but when I spotted these Smashbox palettes I thought they would be perfect to create the perfect day or nighttime looks.  I also love that they're only $39.  I love palettes but I don't love spending a ton of money on them so I think these are perfect for the price and love all the colors that come with it.

My favorite site to look at pretty make up tutorials is Snobka which is in a language that I can not read (I don't even know what language it is) but just looking at the pictures is good enough for me!

Here's a great tutorial from them.  Click through to see the entire tutorial.

I'm seriously envious of that girl's eyebrows though!  Aren't they amazing?  I need to groom mine badly.  I just got the Now Brow Perfect Arch Kit so I can keep up with the grooming in between the times I get my brows waxed (which nowadays is not so often).

Lookbook: Bow and a Dachshund

  What I'm Wearing
J Crew Sweater - old but the Tippi Sweater is similar style.  Tons of colors on sale now!
J Crew Bow Blouse - old, similar style from Kate Spade or Ralph Lauren
J Crew Pixie Pants - love these leggings but not leggings.  They are much thicker and very comfy. An easy black pant to go with everything.
Christian Louboutin Bianca Pumps - similar style in lots of colors at Victoria's Secret for $39.99!
Prada Bag - same style but in nylon
t+j Designs Pearl Bauble Bracelet and Bow Bracelet (comes in a set)
On Savvy: Red Resin & Crystal Necklace

If you follow t+j Design on Instagram you may already have seen Savvy sporting a new necklace but had to share it on the blog too.  I swear my dog loves to dress up and even putting a necklace on her she walks with a little bit of a strut.  We often have extra samples or defective pieces laying around so with a few links taken off and a few minor adjustments, voila!  Savvy gets a new necklace!

My Signature Style

I don't tend to have a distinct style that I can easily classify but I definitely have a formula of how I like to dress.  It's often a combination of classic pieces but in bright colors and/or patterns mixed with neutrals and most likely a pair of sky high heels!  Jewelry has always been a huge part of my outfits even before I started my jewelry line but now it's so much more prominent. I'd say that with this mix of details it makes up my "signature style" and you'll always find it in every outfit that I put together.

As you can see with some of my recent outfits, I apply the same basic formula but I don't always put all of them together at once.  I just pick and choose certain aspects for each outfit.
Right: J Crew Sweater | Madewell Jeans |  Roberto Del Carlo Boots
Full Lookbook Details here and here

You'll rarely see me in head to toe black, I love to have one color be the focus of the outfit and although sometimes I keep my jewelry fairly minimal, you'll always see a stack of bracelets on one wrist.
Full Lookbook Details here and here

I guess it's become a signature style without me even realizing it but it does make picking out outfits much easier when I have these details in mind!

Glam Beauty Board: Red Carpet Beauty

As you may know, I'm so happy and lucky to be a part of Glam Beauty Board (see my previous posts here and here) and this time they set us a "Red Carpet" Beauty Board with products to help us look extra glam for any special occasion.
You want to know something?  I'm super insecure about my teeth due to the natural discoloration of them.  I've done everything under the sun from going to my dentist and getting fully custom molds and using their professional whitening tools to white strips to whatever I can get my hands on, unfortunately I really think it's just hereditary as both my parents have the same coloration on their teeth and although the whitening tricks do help temporarily, I'll never have white sparkly teeth that I envy on so many others.  I was however, very pleased to see that Rembrandt had sent over quite a few whitening products that I'm going to give a shot at.  The Rembrandt Deeply White + Peroxide Mouthwash not only whitens teeth but also strengthens and restores tooth enamel.  The Rembrandt Deeply White + Peroxide Toothpaste is now part of my daily routine and I'm planning on using the Rembrandt Deeply White + Peroxide 2 hour Whitening kit .  It looks perfect for a quick fix before a big night out!
For a few months now, I've been using cleansing wipes to remove all my makeup before I wash my face and I truly think it's helped with breakouts and such.  The Josie Maran Bear Naked Wipes are made with aloe vera, chamomile, cucumber and Vitamin E and it's super refreshing to take off your make up at the end of the day with these wipes.  I love having these and highly recommend them.
Want to get big pretty curls without too much effort? You have to try the Remington Curling Wand!  This curling iron doesn't have a clamp so you just do a quick wrap around, hold for 30 seconds or so, let go and you have pretty bouncy waves.
I love at home treatments, I'm such a sucker for them and when I saw the AHA Brazillian Peel with Advanced Renewal Serum, I was pumped to try it out.  It's supposed to brighten and tone skin.  I'm trying it out soon, I'll let you know the results!
The Hollywood Fashion Tape and the KHROMA Beauty Lash Dash Faux Lashes are just those little extras that are so nice to have when you have a special night out!  I've used the Hollywood Fashion Tape for years now and it's so great to make sure that everything stays in place and you can feel confident in whatever you're wearing.  I'm also a huge advocate for false lashes, I think it makes such an impace especially with those of us with small eyes.  These KHROMA lashes are actually not too intense.  I like the look of false lashes without completely looking like FALSE lashes, if you know what I mean and I think this style, the "Sidelong Glance Set" is perfect for that.  It also comes with two neutral shadows which is great!  You can just take this with you for touch ups during the night! The Bite Beauty Cinnamon Pumping Lip Oil seriously packs a punch!  You get quite the tingly lips when you put it on and while I'm not going to pretend I'll have Angelina Jolie lips anytime soon, it's a fun little extra to toss into your bag for a little extra volume to the lips.

Bow Pumps!

What is it about bows on shoes that makes me want to buy them all?  I just adore the look and so many cute styles out now!

On another note... I wanted to thank all my readers who have been such great supporters of my jewelry line.  It's been such an exciting ride since the time we started until now and I can hardly believe that it's only been a year and half!  I love getting emails from readers sharing how they wear our pieces to sharing in our excitement when they've seen us featured in a magazine or elsewhere.  I truly appreciate all the love and support, I couldn't have grown t+j Designs without all your help!
Update: Thanks for everyone who applied!  I got some really great candidates and am now in the process of interviewing.  I'm no longer taking resumes but thank you all for your interest!

Because of our rapid growth, I'm getting a bit overwhelmed in everything that we've got going on so I've decided to hire an intern.  I thought I'd put it out on the blog first to see if any of my readers would be interested in working with us!  I would love to find someone who loves fashion and of course loves jewelry, who's very familiar with all aspects of social media - blogging, facebook, twitter, instagram, etc... and who is eager to learn more about starting, running and growing an e-commerce business!  Experience with photography and Photoshop would be a major bonus.  This is a great opportunity for someone who would love to be a part of our company from the ground up.  You will mainly be assisting me with running the day to day operations of the business with an emphasis on the social media aspect.  This position will be part time and unpaid to start with (if in school, we'd be happy to work with you to get you school credit) but definite potential for a long term paid position in the future.  I do prefer the intern to be local - in the Seattle area or able to get to Seattle on a weekly basis but because most of the time, this position will be working from home, I'm open to finding an intern that is not local if the fit is right.  Please email your cover letter and resume to tiffany (at) tandjdesigns.com with the subject "Intern" and I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can.  Feel free to also email me with any questions or to get more information about the position if you are interested.  Thanks!

SheInside $100 Giveaway!

I partnered with SheInside to give away a $100 gift certificate to one of my fabulous readers!  I have a few favorite pieces from SheInside, namely this stars dress and this sweater dress and I always find new goodies there.  Prices are reasonable, shipping can sometimes be super quick but it can also be slow too.  I just order stuff knowing that it may take awhile so I'm never in a rush to get it.  Sizing wise, I'd say mostly runs smaller to true to size.  Quality wise - pretty comparable to H&M and Forever 21 but I find that they have great quality knits, like the sweater dress I have is very thick and warm.  I'm always finding cute new stuff to add to my cart, here's what I have my eye on now.

I thought it would be fun for you guys to get a chance to shop there too so enter in the widget below for a chance to win the $100 gift certificate. Giveaway will end a week from now.  I'll be contacting the winner by email and announcing on this post.

Random Friday: Beauty Faves and J Crew Sale

Just throwing a few random things into a post :)
I posted my nails on my instagram and facebook the other day and had a few people ask for a tutorial. Well, no tutorial is needed as these are stickers!  Just paint, stick, cut the sticker to your nail size, top with a top coat!  The easiest nail design ever!  I got mine from this Etsy seller but if you do a search for "Chevron Nail Decals" you'll find a bunch of options.  They don't last very long (mine last around 4-5 days) and you'll have to re-apply the top coat to keep the edges from curling but I still think they are worth it for the cute and easy nail design.  (Bracelets are from my jewelry line)

My latest make up routine includes the most amazing mascara ever.  Benefit's They're Real! Mascara is quite possibly the best mascara I've used in my life.  Since I've been using this, people comment on how long my lashes are constantly.  For an added fullness to my lashes I've been adding 2-3 individual falsies at the corners of my eyes.  I've long given up the strip lashes that I used to love when I was younger but these individual lashes are the perfect amount to give your eyes just an added look of fullness to your lashes.  They also blend in so well with your real lashes that people can not tell that you have falsies on.  Along with the mascara, it's an amazing combination!  (I should mention that I use regular lash glue so I can take them off at night, not the stronger glue that they recommend with individual lashes - you have to use a special remover to get that glue off!)

Here's a few photos with the mascara + lashes combination.

J Crew is currently having a 30% off sale promo so here are a few that I tried on in store that got a thumbs up from me.  Not all are available online so I suggest checking in store as they had quite a few different styles than online.
Tippi Sweater (available online in solid)
Boy Shirt (available online in plaid)

And my bow coat is on sale as well but looks like they are sold out of the pink.  Lookbook details here.

My jewelry line is also celebrating President's Day with an additional 30% off sale!  There's lots of styles perfect for spring!  Use code 30SALE.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

My Loves

My husband and I are approaching our 5 year wedding anniversary so I wanted to capture some photos of us together as we haven't had any since we got married!  Our dogs are such a big part of our lives that I wanted to make sure that we got some photos with them too.  Husband is not too fond of being on the blog (he's not an internet guy at all, he doesn't have a facebook or anything even social media related - the exact opposite of me!) but I had to post these pics because I adore him, adore us and adore our little family.  I can't help but just feel so happy and lucky when I see these pictures.
photos by Miguel Marino

What I'm wearing
First outfit:
Zara Blazer (similar) | J Crew Blouse | Madewell Jeans | Rag & Bone Booties (similar)
Second outfit:
Forever 21 Blazer (similar) | Shop Sosie Blouse (similar) | Juicy Couture dress (worn as a skirt) | DKNY tights | YSL Heels

I wanted photos that captured us but I also wanted to avoid the "engagement" shoot look.  Since my husband and I used to be wedding photographers we've taken more than our fair share of engagement photos and when you're shooting a couple it's easy to kind of fall back into that look and feel .  Our photographer really worked with us to get the kind of shots we wanted.  I'm very happy with the way they turned out.  If you are in Seattle and looking for a photographer, I highly recommend to contact Miguel! (In fact, you might already read his wife's blog, the lovely Carolyn.  I adore them both!)

Shopping: Prabal Gurung for Target and Forever 21

I had to do a Target run and I saw the Prabal Gurung collection out so decided to do a few quick try-ons with what they had left.  I'll be honest, I'm not a big die hard fan of these collabs.  I loved the Missoni one and I did find the quality to be a bit better but the others I haven't had much luck in sizing and fit.  It was pretty much the same with this collection and left empty handed but thought I'd do a review anyhow in case you guys didn't get a chance to go to your store, these styles are still available online.

The sleeveless tee is actually my top pick out of the ones I tried on.  It's cute but the XS had a bit of pulling in the chest area.  Quality wise I didn't have too many issues with it.  The Lace Front Blouse however, was cute hanging but when I put it on, it was a bit of a mess.  The lace makes the top very stiff so didn't lay right when on.  The sleeves were really long and I didn't love the big bunch when I rolled them up.  I think they really could have done without the faux leather collar as it's so plastic-y that it really made the top look cheaper than it was.  The white and neon yellow version looks cuter online but I didn't see it in store.
Sleeveless Tee | Lace Front Blouse
(wearing XS in both tops)

I spotted this lace overlay top and thought it had the most potential.  I love the detailing of the lace and the fun sleeves.  BUT when I put it on, I felt like I was wearing wings!  The sleeves extend so far out, it's almost comical.  I definitely think it's a cute top and somebody maybe taller than I could pull it off, but it made me feel like a little kid wearing a dance costume.

Get Your Glamour On: Wearable Red Carpet Styles

I don't really watch award shows, I actually just watch the pre-shows to see what everyone is wearing as that's the best part!  I love red carpet fashion and even though the dresses are beyond gorgeous, there is no way I would ever get a chance to wear something like that.  When Mazda asked us how we would translate red carpet fashion to wearable everyday styles, I thought about it and instantly thought of the gorgeous colors that you see the celebs wear during award season.  Often times the colors they choose are THE colors of the season or become the colors.  I love getting inspiration from these celebs and creating my own everyday outfits.

The pink dresses as seen on Leah Michelle and Nina Dobrev is such a pretty pink.  Pink is often associated with super girly but I love this bright pop that makes it a bit more sexy and grown up.

I love how Olivia Munn took the color to her skirt and paired it with a lace top and peter pan collar.  It's still dressy but much more wearable.

source

The color is so gorgeous and I found quite a few dresses that are easily wearable for work or play.

jordan dress  - adore the colorblock and it's on sale
olivia dress - I'm such a fan of long sleeve dresses and can't resist it in this color
DKNY Colorblock Dress - another great colorblock but a bit more work appropriate
Miles of Lace Dress - a fun lace dress to get me excited for spring!

And here's how I translate the color into a very wearable outfit for me!

Kate Spade Lillian | Pleated Skirt
Love Chain Bracelet | Gem Chain Bracelet
OCC Nail Polish | Pave Drop Earrings | YSL Lip Gloss
Rockstud Clutch | Tribute Pump
Navy was also a big color on the red carpet and I love these ladies' looks.

Just like how we can take these red carpet dresses as inspiration for our every day wear, Mazda's CX-9 is artfully crafted yet utilitarian.

For an incredible world, you need an improbable vehicle. So we engineered the new 2013 Mazda CX-9 to surpass your expectations with sophisticated styling and an equally refined, well-appointed seven-passenger interior.
