Lorna Jane Activewear Review

I am one of those people that actually like to work out.  I think the key is to find things that you enjoy to do and it doesn’t actually feel like working out.  I also really love work out clothes.  I truly think I get a better work out when I’m wearing something that I love and feels good on.  Lorna Jane, an activewear brand, reached out to me to let me know that they were opening up a store later this month in Seattle and Bellevue and I got to try out a few pieces before they opened!

I just got my package and I adore every single piece.  I am pretty loyal to my workout capris so I own like 5 pairs of the same style but with tops, I love to have a variety and especially love to mix in bright colors.  I’m picky about my tank tops, they have to be the right fit and the right length and I’m happy to report that these fit the bill!  I usually go for more fitted tops but lately for yoga, I’ve been liking a little bit of a relaxed fit.

These tops are also great for when you’re feeling a bit more bloated and it’s easier to hide the belly than a fitted top.  I love the colors and the back detail.  The Radah tank is a really nice lightweight material and comparable to my Lululemon and Nike tops.  It’s fitted at top and a bit more flowy at the body.  The Drill Excel Tank is a mesh like material so very breathable. Size wise, I got these in an XS and they fit true to size (as reference I’m typically a size 4 in Lululemon and XS in Nike)

I am also a huge fan of cute long sleeve tops/jackets to wear to the gym.  I’m always cold and so I  start my workout with long sleeves on and then later take it off when I get too hot. Since I wear them so much, I want to have a tops that goes with the rest of my gear too.  During shavasana in yoga, I always have to have it on or else I get too cold and can’t relax!

I’m torn between the Botanica Sweatshirt and the Tasha top as my
favorites.  The embossing and the zipper details of the sweatshirt makes it so much more stylish than just a regular sweatshirt.  Plus I love that it matches a pair of sneakers that I have. The material is a good medium weight so it’s not too heavy and bulky but it will definitely keep you warm.

I absolutely love the dot details of the Tasha top,  it’s a bit unexpected in activewear which is why I love it.  Since I always layer my long sleeves over my tank top and sports bra, I hate to feel too constricted so I got this and the sweatshirt in a size Small.  It’s still very fitted although the arms are a little bit long and baggy on me (which is not unusual anyway, that happens to me in all brands) and I do recommend going up a size if you plan on doing the same.

The Vesper jacket will be great for the fall, I love the color and the fit.  The ruching at the shoulder is a great detail as it makes it a little bit more girly and less sporty.  Everything from their line is fit much more “modern” and less on the traditional boxy styles that I’ve found other line tend to have.  I love that it’s much more of a fashion-y line but still very gym/yoga studio appropriate.  I got the jacket in an XS and fit is true to size.
