I love shopping and sales but the one thing I eagerly wait for is the twice yearly designer sale. The fall/winter sale is going on now! Almost everything starts at 40% off which is a fab savings. I know the prices aren't cheap or anything but if you have a love of designer things, being able to budget for these twice a year sales (they are always the same time every year) is generally very helpful!
My favorite places to shop for the designer sale:
Nordstrom: I usually shop in store, but online has a great selection. Bookmark your faves if they run out of your size and keep on checking back, they may get them back in due to returns! This applies to all the sites.
SSENSE: based in Canada so you will get charged a fee from your credit card company. Savings are more along the line of 20% off but they do further markdowns later on in the year. I do have to mention though that the markdowns are not as big but they have a lot of styles that go on sale that I don't see anywhere else so with those styles, any kind of savings is better than none!
Saks: They have, in my opinion the best selection of designer sale. Shipping is free but returns are not so I try to be selective about what I buy but also try to snag what I like in my size before someone else takes it.
I do have to say that over the years, the designer handbag sale has gotten a lot better. They often times even have classic styles in seasonal colors on sale, you just got to get on it quick. Here are my handbag picks:
