Best of Beauty: 2014 Edition

Looking back at 2014, it’s not hard for me to say what my favorite beauty products were. All I have to do is look at my daily beauty wardrobe and see what’s there. Like all beauty addicts, I love trying the newest products, but only the crème de la crème acquire permanent real estate in my cabinet.

NARS #11 Bronzing Powder Brush is a game changer for contouring. True it’s meant for bronzing, but the huge, fluffy head makes it perfect for effortless blending. Getting sculpted cheeks takes me five seconds now instead of five minutes. And of course, I use my beloved NARS Contour Blush with it.

I really got into brows last year for the first time. So I’ve been obsessed with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Duo Brow Powder and Brow Gel, which are foolproof, really.

My skin has never looked better, and it’s thanks to awesome new skincare. First off, let’s take care of emergency zits with the Kiehl’s Blue Herbal Spot Treatment, which is never drying. Philosophy Help Me is the perfect retinol treatment for someone in their 20s, preventing lines while helping keep skin clear.

Dr. Jart, a Korean favorite skincare brand, has the coolest bubbly cleanser: Pore Medic Pore Minish Cleansing Bubble. And last but not least, Steam Cream is a gentle, simple cream that keeps my skin happy without complicated, potentially-irritating fillers.

My makeup look has been really focused on statement lips, and the NARS Audacious Lipstick is just as good as everyone says. Creamy, high-impact color that you’ll fall in love with, you’re guaranteed to find one shade that’s worth the splurge. I’ve been prepping my lips with my absolute favorite balm: Maybelline Baby Lips.

For those days when I just want to crash and sleep, I keep the Tarte Fresh Eyes next to my bed. These convenient wipes take off everything, including the Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow, which is my go-to eyeshadow for the most flattering glow that never creases or smudges.
