The Stylish Swimwear You Need for Spring Break

Though it may not seem like it if you’re anywhere in the Northeast, Spring is just around the corner. Cue bikini body anxiety here. But actually, the biggest trends for swimwear right now are a little more modest and wearable than Brazilian-cut bottoms of years past.

Some general styles that I’ve noticed and love are: crotchet, sport-inspired, high neck and graphic straps. Keep reading for some of my top picks.

Color-blocking is still going to be popular, but this season brings the use of solid pieces to color-block patterned sections. Speaking of patterns, bold and exotic florals or geometric designs are the way to go. Look for a pattern that has some black or other dark color in it to keep the look grounded and sophisticated.

As for one-piece suits, think sporty cool styles. Neoprene is definitely one of the materials-du-jour. Feminine, flirty patterns can definitely make a one-piece so look for eye-catching graphic ones that incorporate solid colors to prevent the piece from looking messy.

Of course a cute cover-up is a nice bonus to have if you really want to impress. The lighter and more delicate, the better. Look for sheer materials, breathable fabrics and small detailing.

What kind of swimsuit are you looking for this year?
