Try or Skip? The Mule Shoe

In this new series, we are going to hash out runway trends, which means that we want to hear from you in the comments on your opinions or styling tips. So for this first post, let’s start with the mule shoe, which is everywhere for Spring.

We’ve all seen the runways and lookbooks for Fall 2015 already, so we know that a huge 70s revival is coming. This is where the mule shoe scores points. You know they’ll still be a coveted shoe option in the Fall, since mules and the 70s go hand-in-hand.

I love how all these bloggers style them with casual denim and looser silhouettes.

Still, in my mind it’s a trend that’s going to fade relatively quickly. I do love the ease of wear for the shoe (just slip them on and go!) and the casual vibe, but I also don’t think they fit my style and lifestyle.

Here are some shop-able options for the mule trend. Designers are playing with platforms, embellished leather, and straps to ensure that there’s a mule out there for everyone. Personally, I’m most inclined towards the simple covered style with a low heel (5), but even a high heel mule would be comfortable since the heels seem to usually be on the chunkier side.

Where have you spotted mules in stores this season?

I really want to get into the mule trend however my balance and mules are not compatible. I know that I am clumsy and without something to help stabilize the shoe, I would be all over my face! The bloggers I've seen have done them justice though!
