Flawless Face Game Changers6:00 AM
Like skincare, face makeup is really personal. There are so many individual factors to consider like desired finish, skin type, season, etc., but that’s what makes face makeup so interesting.
It’s almost a scientific process to figure out which products work best together. Even though my favorites are constantly changing, here’s the combo that’s working for me right now.
Starting off with the shiny stuff: stocking up on pretty highlighters is key for that date night, happy makeup look. My go-to fix is Benefit’s High Beam, which has a magical silvery-pink shimmer. For a matching cheek color, the Milani Baked Blushes have the most flattering glow.
For a quicker, dewy look, I mix the Sunday Riley Effortless Breathable Tinted Primer with my old Tarte illuminating serum, which they’re now calling the Amazonian Clay BB Illuminating Moisturizer, and apply under foundation.
Time and time again I come back to the MAC Blot Powder/Pressed to keep my oily t-zone in check. It looks especially beautiful on top of the Laura Mercier Oil Free Supreme Foundation, which has a full coverage matte finish.
Newer additions to my routine include the MAC Mineralize Concealer, which offers natural, illuminating coverage, and the Sigma 3DHD Kabuki, F80 Flat Kabuki, and 3DHD Precision. Quality synthetic brushes are key to buffing creamy products into the skin since they absorb less than natural hairs or your fingers.
Lately, I’ve been really into compact cream foundations for on-the-go touch ups. The Edward Bess Sheer Satin Cream Compact Foundation is goes from cream to powder, so it doesn’t slip off my face. For slightly more coverage, I like the Sulwhasoo Perfecting Cushion SPF 50+, which has a cool bouncy texture. The incredible SPF and moisturizing formula makes it perfect for Summer.
I’m always about slimming down my face, and with the right products it should take five seconds. The NARS Contour Blush blends in a flash with the Sigma F40 Large Angled Contour. If I have more time, I like going in with the F05 Small Contour for more precision chiseling, especially along my nose and jaw.
