Vision correction wasn’t something I actively thought about improving for myself, the way that I constantly try to up my skincare or workout game. But recently I started using ACUVUE OASYS® 1-Day Brand Contact Lenses. Right away, something clicked. I realized that I had simply accepted the inconveniences and irritation that I’d experienced with glasses and my previous contact lenses as unavoidable side effects of my near-sightedness. Since I started wearing ACUVUE OASYS® Brand lenses, I’ve been ready to change it up and embrace the transformation with my vision as a lifestyle game changer too.
Let’s start with a little background on my vision correction journey. I started wearing glasses in elementary school and got my first contact lenses in high school. I liked the newfound freedom of wearing contacts, but eventually started switching between wearing contacts and glasses every other day or so. The reason? My eyes would get really irritated and dry from wearing contacts for more than 4 or 5 hours. I found myself having to use eye drops constantly or remove my contacts and rinse them with lens solution in the school bathroom during lunch breaks.
Clearly, contact lenses were not as practical for me as they should have been. Ever since then, I’d seen contact lenses as an option that I planned for. Usually I would just wear them to school and take them out once I got back home. The ability for me to wear the ACUVUE OASYS® contact lenses for the entire day (8am-9pm) without discomfort is an amazing difference that makes me feel a lot more confident about carrying on with my day and gives me choices.
For example, I love playing with intricate eyeshadow looks as much as the next girl, but wearing contacts that made my eyes tear up and turn red didn’t motivate me much to actually try out the intense looks I wanted to. When I’m wearing the ACUVUE OASYS® contact lenses, I can actually try out bold glitter eyeliners without worrying about my eyes being irritated and ruining my look. Plus, without my glasses, more people have noticed and complimented my makeup skills.
One concrete observation I had in my initial testing of ACUVUE OASYS® contacts is that the lens is made with a substance that seems to help the lens retain moisture, which is why I feel comfortable wearing ACUVUE OASYS®.
Have you tried wearing contacts before? What kind of discomforts do you experience when wearing contact lenses?
