Helloooo!! Did you guys have a good weekend? I did! I went on a shopping spree at Madewell and hubs took me to see She & Him. I must say that Zoey Deschanel is even cuter than you can imagine. Amazing voice too, I think she sounded better live than on the CD!
Don’t you love this dress she’s wearing? photo from laceandflora |
Anyway, it’s been non-stop rain for the past few days and I finally have a true fall outfit to blog about. (Although I took this picture in September – not this past weekend.) I was going crazy trying to find boots prior to fall and I ended up buying a pair of Miu Miu over the knee boots (these ones) that I thought I loved but in the end, decided that they weren’t right for me so returned them. I consider boots to be an investment since you can barely get a pair of designer boots for less than $1K and you should get use out of them for several years. I actually own a very similar pair to these Jimmy Choo boots that I bought about 4 years ago that still look fantastic. You just can’t say the same about cheaper quality boots where I get use out of them for only one or two seasons. So anyway, I just didn’t want to spend that kind of money on something that I just wasn’t sure about. However, I did need boots for a business trip (I was going to a much colder climate) and was running out of time so I just decided to buy a pair to tide me over until I found THE ones. These boots aren’t going to last until next year but they are cute and comfy so I think I’ll be getting a lot of wears from them this winter.
Top: Patterson J. Kincaid
Jeans: Rag & Bone
Boots: Madden Girl
Rings: YSL Arty ring and Ariella Collection
Flowy top, skinnies and boots make for the easiest fall outfits!
Patterson J. Kincaid ‘Egyptian’ Blouse
I am loving these lightweight flowy tunics. Patterson J. Kincaid always makes great oversize tunics. This tunic is similar or I love this one too.
Rag & Bone ‘RBW8’ Straight Leg Stretch Jeans – on sale for 60% off!
When Rag & Bone jeans go on sale, you have to get them! I love their jeans.
When pairing jeans with boots I always go for the skinniest of the skinny jeans. If you don’t want to splurge, you can always get these jeans for $9.50!
Madden Girl Zeda Over The Knee Boot
I’m loving the color and style of these lace back boots, they’d be perfect with jeans and a cute plaid shirt!
Ariella Collection Pave Ring
I love this ring! I’m really into rose gold lately so I’ve bought several rose gold pieces. I also got this pretty ring from Nordstrom. And a reminder to use your ebates to get 3% cashback when you order online from Nordstrom!

October 25, 2010 at 12:31 pmI really like those boots! I haven't yet invested in a great pair of boots, I'm still scared they won't last me! But you are totally right, all the boots I have only last me one or two years max.

October 25, 2010 at 5:21 pmI *heart* Zooey Deschanel – she's beyond adorable & talented! Can't wait to see what you got at Madewell. I was fantasy shopping on their site on Saturday. *sigh* I LOVE your hair in this outfit post & I think these type of
"affordable" boots are perfect for traveling when you need to walk a lot. They can take a beating and you can always leave them if they get too beat up or messed up from the rain (well – in my case that's happened). Happy Monday!

October 25, 2010 at 5:58 pmIt is funny, because somehow I always think of Zoey Deschanel as Temperance Brennan from Bones, so listening to her sing is a bit freaky (she is great though).
Also I actually really like the boots you got, I am looking myself, but getting nowhere at the moment. Maybe I should just buy some since it is super bad weather here as well.
