How to Give Your Skin Some TLC for Fall with Clarisonic Mia 1

Clarisonic Mia Blog Review

Being in New England, my skin starts to freak out a little once chilly weather sets in. I don’t break out from the seasonal shift, but my skin gets a little rough and dry, which doesn’t feel good when the mornings are 35 degrees. For these situations, it may seem intuitive to just slather on your richest face creams and call it a day. But actually, I’ve found that properly cleansing and prepping my skin to absorb those powerful ingredients is key. This season, I’ve been using my  Clarisonic Mia 1 Device with Radiance Brush Head daily and it has noticeably boosted my skin’s ability to accept and retain moisture.

Which goes to say, if I notice an immediate difference in more effective moisture absorption, then I’m probably also getting more mileage out of the other skin treatments I apply, like spot treatments or anti-aging serums. Since cleansing the skin is the first part of any skincare routine, it’s so important to do right. The sonic cleansing of the Clarisonic Mia 1 is vastly better at cleansing your skin than just conventional hand-cleansing. As a result, the ingredients you put on your skin after the cleansing step can penetrate the skin effortlessly.

I like that with my Clarisonic Mia 1, it’s easy to switch out brushes for specific skincare routine days. For example, on days where I’m planning on doing a detoxifying mask and spot treatment for breakouts, I’ll pop on the Clarisonic Acne Brush Head since it has softer bristles. This way I don’t irritate my skin before all the acne-prevention treatments I know I’ll apply afterwards. Between the base-level Radiance Brush Head and the Acne Brush Head, the Clarisonic Deep Pore Brush Head is a more intense feeling brush. It leaves my skin feeling a little tender and stimulated in a good way (like a facial massage). I’d recommend saving this brush for once or twice a week usage, use the Acne Brush Head as needed, and to use the Radiance Brush Head for everyday use.

The Clarisonic Mia 1 is effective with any kind of cleanser you use (as long as it’s liquid-y rather than creamy in consistency). However, I was curious about how it would work with the brand’s own line of cleansers. I tested out the Clarisonic Refreshing Gel Cleanser and it had a really great consistency that worked well with the Clarisonic Mia 1.

The Clarisonic system is an investment, so the company offers monthly payment plans upon credit approval. If you’re interested, see the details for that here. Also, if you want to purchase one now, I have a 15% discount code for you for all devices featured here using the code HERCAMPUS!
