What to wear in your 2nd trimester

This pregnancy has definitely been harder than my first and I’m trying to make it easier by finding cute things to wear!  I’m excited to have found a super cute and affordable maternity clothing line that I adore!  I got a few pieces in from PinkBlush and I am so impressed with the fit and quality of everything I received.

Relaxed tee + Maternity skinny jeans

Comfy tees and jeans are a regular go to but are definite essentials when pregnant!  I love this floral tee, the long length is great for hiding the panel in the maternity jeans and it’s got a lot of stretch so will be a great top to wear as my bump continues to grow.

DRESS UP YOUR BUMP WITH MAXI DRESSES

Maxi dresses are a lifesaver when it comes to maternity fashion!  You don’t have to buy maternity specific dresses but this maternity maxi dress is great because of the wrap front and the stretchy fit, it will be able to be worn throughout both your 2nd and 3rd trimesters and even after you’ve had your baby!  I’m wearing the size small petite and it was a perfect fit even down to the hem length, no alterations needed.

TRANSITIONING FROM FIRST TO SECOND TRIMESTER

I totally get that in your first few months before you officially announce your pregnancy you may want to try to hide it a bit especially if you work in an office environment and just aren’t ready to reveal to your co-workers.  Pieces like this top that can be worn with jeans, leggings and even slim black pants are still work appropriate and flowy enough to hide the bump.

You’ll also want to get pieces that will easily transition as your belly grows which is why I like to get maternity pieces early in my pregnancy rather than wait too late and feel like you have nothing to wear.

BEING COMFORTABLE WHILE PREGNANT

What I love most about these pieces are how comfortable they are. I’m going to be honest, I don’t love being pregnant.  I constantly feel sick, every part of my body is uncomfortable and most of the time I’ll go out and come home and rip off my clothes because I can’t stand anything touching me.  But with these pieces I actually feel comfortable enough to stay in them even at home to lounge around.

I’ve worn all these pieces so many times.  I feel great whether I’m having lunch with my girlfriends or at the park with my daughter.

Maternity jeans for petite ladies

I’m at the stage where I have a bump but it’s not super noticeable (I get a lot of “Oh I had no idea you were pregnant!”) but it’s uncomfortable to be wearing my non-pregnancy jeans.  As someone who is fairly petite (I’m 5’2″ and size XS/0) I have trouble finding maternity jeans that will fit my frame as most of them can be quite baggy as they are accommodating your body for when the bump is quite a big bigger.

These Navy Blue Distressed Cropped Maternity Jean have been a total dream for me.  Not only do they fit great in the legs but the belly part is also very comfy and I can see it growing well with my bump.  I’m wearing my regular size (25) and it fits true to size although I do think I could possibly size down so that it fits a bit tighter as it does get a little looser as I wear them throughout the day.

My bump also grows a lot during the day. In the morning I wake up and can barely see it but by the end of the day I feel like I’m 8 months pregnant!  These jeans are great just for accommodating the growth just throughout the day.

Like everyone says, the 2nd pregnancy has been so different from the first.  I have no idea what week I am, I have no idea what size fruit/vegetable the baby is but I am enjoying letting my daughter rub my belly to say hi to the baby and all the little flutters and kicks that I’ve been feeling lately!
