Maternity clothes on a budget

How to save money on maternity clothes

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Savers. The opinions and text are all mine.

I last shared how to save money for spring shopping at the thrift store and had a lot of fun finding outfits at my local Value Village. This time I want to share how I’m saving money on maternity clothes! Being pregnant in the summer is a bit easier in that I can buy simple pieces like flowy tops and dresses, however since I will be in my third trimester during the summer, I really don’t want to spend a lot of money on clothes I might not wear again.

MATERNITY CLOTHES ON A BUDGET

I headed into Value Village and was so excited to find so many cute things to fit my bump, all under $10! You don’t have to look for specific maternity items, just keep an open mind to stretchy fabrics and flowy silhouettes that will be able to work with your growing belly. I also buy things 1-2 sizes larger than my normal size.

I found quite a few options (see below for everything I found!) and ended up coming home with these two tops and a dress. I found them to be really versatile and could wear them with so many things I already owned. This flowy tank was the perfect color for summer, less than $3 and looks great with jeans and shorts.

I paired it with a little lace jacket that was perfect for a day out for running errands. I love that it looks great alone but can also be worn with pieces like this coat or a cardigan if the days are getting a little cooler.

I’ve been loving maxi dresses this pregnancy and found a few that I loved at Value Village. I ended up with this one that was super stretchy and comfortable with my rapidly growing bump. It was a little long so I tied it up at the end but I may end up cutting it. For paying less then $10 I won’t feel too bad if I’m not too perfect with altering the hem myself!

And lastly was this adorable printed cold shoulder top. Such a cute piece right? It was under $5!

SUMMER WARDROBE FOR UNDER $7

It honestly wasn’t too hard to find cute pieces. As soon as I walked in the door I could spot the sections that I wanted to shop in. I love that they do a great job of labeling which area are the tank top/short sleeves, dresses, skirts and more.

It’s also nice that most items are under $7! I can find plenty of name brands that you see in the malls so am always very excited by the prices of these items.

Here are some of the other pieces that I found while shopping. I didn’t want to go overboard with buying everything as I’m trying to be conservative about what I buy for my pregnancy, but I also felt great about the prices so didn’t feel too guilty about the pieces I bought!

As you can see I stuck with a lot of long, flowy tops in fun colors and prints and also found a cute stretchy skirts to go with the tops. It’s really easy to shop around and find a lot of great pieces to mix and match.

The best part about shopping at Value Village is that they get new items in every day so no matter when you go, you will always find new pieces to shop! Depending on where you are located, you might know them as Savers or Unique Thrift, they may be named differently but you’ll find great deals at all of their locations.

I wore this outfit out this weekend and felt great! I know I’ll be wearing this top a lot this summer and even for fall I will be wearing it with a cozy cardigan. I still can’t believe I got it for less than $3!
