The ultimate list of newborn products that you’ll actually use!

There are so many products for newborns, but being that this is my 2nd time around I wanted to make sure to only get what we truly needed and would actually use.  This list narrows down the items we’ve used practically every day since Edie has arrived. Some of these items we used for my first daughter and some of these were brand new that we tested out with Edie and fell in love with. See my list below of the top newborn essentials!

Rock N Play – I think this is a favorite among lots of parents as it is so easy to put the baby in and out of! It’s also comfortable enough for the baby to sleep in.  Also, have you seen the Jonathan Adler collection?  We are using our old Rock N Play since it was still in good shape but if I was to buy a new one I’d totally buy one from this collection!  It’s so much prettier!

Dockatot – This has been such a lifesaver as it’s the perfect spot for the baby where you don’t have to worry about them rolling out of. They also have the most gorgeous prints and patterns for their covers, so it also makes for the perfect instagram-able spot for your baby too! 🙂

Ring Sling – This ring sling has made it so easy to multitask while still holding Edie. The material is so soft and I’ve found it easier to use than other baby carriers. It also has a handy little removable pouch that you can store things like a pacifier etc. in to always have on hand. Lillebaby also makes baby carriers that look great and will be easier to carry when Edie is a bit bigger.  I’ll test them out and let you know what I think!

Nose Frida – This may look or seem strange, but this is such an amazing product for newborns. Since they obviously cannot blow their nose yet, this is such a quick and easy way to clear out their noses.

Halo Swaddle – The perfect little swaddle! No folding skills required, just pop the baby in and secure the velcro.

Pacifier & Teether Holder – This pacifier with the cute stuffed animal attached is truly genius. I know this is a favorite of many moms. It’s a great help for teething as well!

Halo Bassinet – This bassinet is amazing. It works so well attached to our bed and has made nighttime feedings a lot easier. It has some great features too! It vibrates, plays music and swivels which makes it easy to get in and out of bed.

Mamaroo – We love the mamaroo as we know it is a safe place to put the baby down in. The rocking motions are so soothing and there is a variety of speed options.

Play Gym – Edie has already been enjoying this play gym! The cool thing about this specific one is that it grows with your baby. It transforms as the perfect place for tummy time to a play fort and encourages sensory exploration which is so important. It’s also really easy to set up and take down.

Burpy Bibs – Aden + Anais is truly one of our favorite brands for baby items and these burpy bibs are so great as they double as a bib and a burp cloth all in one. They are so soft and get softer the more you wash them!

Bottles – We love Dr. Brown’s bottles and this newborn set includes everything you need. Although Edie is exclusively breastfed, I’ve had to leave her a few times so I always have a stash of pumped milk in the fridge for those times.  We used Dr. Brown’s bottles for Layla as well who was also exclusively breastfed and both our girls really like these bottles!  We also use Dr Brown’s bottle sterilizer and it’s great for sterilizing everything, not just bottles!

Stroller – We absolutely love this stroller by Thule! It is strong and sturdy but still really simple to fold down and lightweight which makes it easy to carry. We also have this bassinet that fits in the stroller and is perfect for how little Edie is!
